Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 675 - 671, please stop associating with other women, okay?
Picking a book at random, Mia Foster sat down on the sofa in the reception area, reading while waiting for Felix Shaw.
Half an hour later, Felix returned from a meeting, pushing open the door of his office, his hand lightly massaging his forehead, looking somewhat fatigued.
After sleeping late last night and getting up early for work today, followed by two consecutive meetings, even an ironclad body would feel tired eventually.
"Felix..." Mia closed the book in her hand and stood up, "you’re back." She gave him a faint glance as Felix, still massaging his forehead, walked towards his office chair.
Following him to his desk, Mia placed the book on it as well, "The matter with Frances has been resolved."
Felix had just sat down when he heard Mia say this, and he paused in his massage to look up at her, lifting his eyelids—which were particularly noticeable in his deep-set eyes, perhaps due to the lack of rest from the previous night—"Resolved so quickly? I was thinking of sending someone this afternoon to escort her to the hospital to forcefully settle the issue."
Mia was helpless; it seemed only Evander Lancaster truly understood his brother.
She walked around the desk to stand behind Felix, her hands resting on his shoulders; Felix shifted uncomfortably but did not pull away.
As she massaged his shoulders, Mia said, "You, if you would use a fraction of your business acumen, wouldn’t be so easily deceived by women."
"Deceived?" Felix turned his head in confusion, "Frances is deceiving me?"
Hearing Felix ask this, Mia pushed his shoulder in exasperation, "What do you think! Such a big man, to not remember when he has been with a woman, no wonder you get taken advantage of!"
Felix touched his nose guiltily and turned his head back, "How do you know she’s deceiving me?"
Mia continued massaging his shoulders, "She admitted it herself; the child isn’t yours, it belongs to a rich businessman from City G, she agreed to give birth in exchange for a sum of money."
"How did you get her to spill?" Felix was very curious. Such private information, and she knew about it; if she had people investigate, the answer wouldn’t have come so quickly. The only explanation was that Frances had told her herself.
When asked about this, Mia played coy, "I have my ways." She had already notified Evander, and about the impersonation as a lawyer, only the two of them were privy to this. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Felix smiled noncommittally, "Quite efficient at work."
Mia self-complimented with pride, "How could a small-time celebrity outsmart me, a shrewd businessman!"
Words spoken without thought, but upon hearing them, Felix visibly stiffened; however, Mia was standing behind him and therefore didn’t notice.
"Felix, tell me the truth, are you still involved with any other women?" Mia continued the massage as she asked. Felix moved his neck, and as Mia started kneading his neck, he muttered indistinctly, "No."
Mia abruptly stopped her movements, staring at the top of Felix’s head, and said earnestly, "Felix, promise me, don’t get involved with other women anymore. Although I can handle it for you, it still makes me feel uncomfortable," pausing for a moment, Mia asked, "Is that okay?"
But Felix suddenly stood up, saying, "It’s lunch break, let’s eat."
Watching Felix go to the coat rack to get his coat, Mia stood behind the office chair, motionless for a long while.
Perhaps it was a woman’s intuition, but she always felt that there were still other women around Felix. That time in front of the restaurant, Qin Shuang said he had a new love...
