Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 674 - 670, Third Sister-in-law, it’s really tall
Although she liked Felix Shaw, Mia Foster was not an initiator when it came to matters of love, always feeling that it should be the man who took the initiative. Therefore, she simply pulled Felix’s arm to use as a pillow and soon fell asleep.
Listening to the gradually steady breathing beside him, Felix gently withdrew his arm, turned over, and left Mia with his back. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Frances thought Mia was only bluffing about hiring a lawyer for proof, but unexpectedly, the next day, Mia really brought a lawyer and laid a prepared agreement in front of Frances. Once the fetus was old enough, they would go to the hospital for a sample test to see if the baby in her belly was indeed Felix’s.
Initially, Frances thought Mia was merely talking off the cuff the night before, but when she saw the agreement and the lawyer clarified that it would take effect immediately upon her signature, she, being literate and understanding what "take effect" implied, after a struggle and hesitation, had no choice but to bite the bullet and say that the baby wasn’t Felix’s, and that she only called to harass him upon hearing about Felix’s engagement out of spite...
No matter what Frances’s intentions were, as long as the child was not Felix’s, Mia couldn’t care less to investigate further, but she didn’t expect the resolution to come this easily.
And, the person she brought wasn’t really a lawyer. Being engaged to Felix and yet he was still fooling around with women; the thought itself was an embarrassment to her. So, with a stroke of genius, she brought Evander Lancaster along instead; after all, they were like brothers and knew Felix’s romantic history better than she did.
After leaving Frances’s house, Evander opened the car door for Mia and gave her a thumbs-up, "Sister-in-law, that was brilliant!"
Coming up with such a clever plan, making him pose as a lawyer and pretend to sign documents, ensuring Frances would retreat on her own accord. If it had been his brother dealing with it, he would have certainly taken a more forceful approach, taking the woman to the hospital for an abortion!
Regarding Evander’s compliment, Mia was not particularly concerned. With a proud tilt of her chin, she said, "With your brother’s intellect, the women he knows aren’t much smarter," hence she had a hundred ways to deal with them.
After dropping Evander back at the hospital, they chatted casually along the way. Mia also deliberately brought up Titus Zane and Nathan Moore. Still, Evander laughed and said, "If you want to gossip, Sister-in-law, it’s better to ask your husband directly. After all, you’re married, and there should be no secrets between husband and wife..."
Evander’s joke elicited a profound sense of reflection in Mia.
Her relationship with Felix was new, and she didn’t know whether he was a true gentleman or simply had no desire to touch her. Last night, when she took the initiative to rest on his arm, he didn’t make a move.
She was a normal woman, and Felix was her fiancé. With such an intimate relationship, it was impossible not to feel disappointed if he showed no interest.
With a sigh in her heart, she dropped Evander off at the hospital and then drove to Felix’s company. For him, she hadn’t gone to work properly since her return.
When Mia arrived at Hutton Industries, Felix was in the middle of convening an emergency meeting in the conference room, discussing a land bid for the company. Several interested companies had submitted bids, so he was leading his staff in evaluating them.
As the future lady boss of Hutton Future, the secretary directly took Mia to Felix’s office. This was her first time at Felix’s workplace. The office had an adjoining rest room, and there was a small bookshelf embedded in the wall next to it, filled with books, predominantly on financial management and business administration.
