Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 262: Chantie, Be Mine
Chapter 262: Chapter 262: Chantie, Be Mine
Slowly, Chantelle relaxed. Without realizing it, she wrapped her arms around his waist.
That small action told him to keep going. He felt a rush of excitement but held himself back. He took his time and patiently built up her desire.
"Chantie, be mine, okay?" Daniel said softly as his eyes filled with intense desire while looking at her beautiful face.
Chantelle hesitated as she couldn’t decide right now.
Then came a sudden knock at the door.
"Chantie, are you in there?" Philip’s voice called out.
Daniel’s face darkened. He was furious that Philip had interrupted them. He could barely hold back the urge to lash out.
Annoyed, Daniel got out of bed. Chantelle tried to follow him, but he gently pushed her back.
"Lie down," he said through gritted teeth.
He would never let another man see her like this.
"Philip Collins, this better be important," Daniel said as he opened the door, clearly annoyed.
Philip was shaken and surprised by Daniel’s mood. One glance at Daniel’s pants, and he realized what he’d done.
"Daniel, s-sorry! This is all my fault!"
"Say what you came for," Daniel gave him a sharp glare.
"There was an accident at Thea’s store. She couldn’t reach Chantie and got scared Ruby might cause trouble," Philip quickly explained.
Chantelle stepped out of the bathroom after splashing cold water on her face. Her cheeks were no longer flushed.
Daniel stood in front of her protectively, still blocking her from view.
He shot Philip a sharp, warning look again.

When Chantelle arrived at Thea’s store, everything was a mess. Expensive dresses were scattered and torn across the floor.
Thea sat in the middle of it with her face buried in her knees as she cried hard.
Chantelle knelt beside her and gently patted her back.
"Chantie, my heart hurts so much!" Thea sobbed louder as she hugged her.
Chantelle had designed only a few of the award-winning dresses.
Most of them were Thea’s work and made from scratch, after long nights of effort.
Thea’s greatest joy was seeing girls wear her dresses and look beautiful in them. That made her really happy.
To Thea, these dresses were like her babies.
And now, all of them are gone.
"Don’t cry. I’ll find out who did this and make them pay!" Philip tried to comfort her.
He always jokes around with Thea when they met, but seeing her cry was too much for him to bear.
A woman like her should always be smiling. She should be carefree and laughing like she used to.
"Philip, you said it yourself. You better get it done! If you don’t find out who did this in three days, you’re banned from eating at my house," Thea said, wiping her tears as she took his offer.
She didn’t want to trouble Chantelle.
Chantie had bigger things to do.
"Okay, I’m on it!" Philip said with confidence, then turned and headed for the door.
Before stepping out, he teased her again, "Thea, you look terrible when you cry."
"Yeah, yeah, you’re the best-looking guy ever. Go be an escort!" she shouted, grabbing the pillow next to her and hurling it at him.
Philip laughed as he dodged it. "If I were an escort, I’d dominate the whole market. I gotta let others make a living too!"
"Okay, let’s clean up the store first," Chantelle said. She noticed how quickly Philip had lifted Thea’s mood. The moment he spoke, her tears stopped.
Chantelle gave her a teasing smile.
Thea blushed under her stares and muttered, "Each dress costs hundreds of thousands, some even millions. How can you still smile? If I hadn’t moved the custom orders to the VIP room, I’d have lost everything!"
"Thea, you always think ahead. I wonder which guy will be lucky enough to marry you," Chantelle joked as she picked up a dress.
With Philip gone, Thea leaned closer and asked boldly, "Philip said when he knocked, you and Daniel were in the middle of... something. Did he scare Daniel off?"
She raised her eyebrows and smirked. Chantelle knew exactly what she meant by "scaring" Daniel.
Chantelle pinched Thea’s cheeks. "Philip really has a loose mouth. He just says everything to everyone."
"He’s not like that! He’s just being open with me," Thea said quickly, trying to defend him.
"Oh... so he only tells you everything? Are you two...?" Chantelle rolled her eyes and started teasing Thea again.
"We’re nothing!" Thea huffed. "All he cares about is his research and his patients. He doesn’t see me that way."
She let out a small sigh, clearly disappointed.
"Well, he visits you all the time. He doesn’t do that for anyone else. He must like you."
As a bystander, Chantelle could see it more clearly than Thea. Philip and Thea liked each other, but neither of them realized it.
Thea even believed he didn’t see her that way at all.
"If he really wanted a relationship, I think he’d like Daniel," Thea said. "He talks about him all the time. I actually find it cute."
Chantelle was silent for a few seconds. Then she said, "Think whatever makes you happy."
I really don’t get how young people think these days.
"Speaking of that, didn’t I tell Philip I was worried Ruby might cause trouble for you? I think she’s the one behind this." Thea said in a serious tone.
"Our boutique is high-end. We’ve made a name for ourselves in Easthan. We even beat out all the competitors who played dirty," Chantelle started to say.
But Thea cut in. "That’s why I don’t think it was a rival store. This feels personal. Someone really hates us to do something like this, even if it means offending wealthy clients."
"You’ve always gotten along well with people. You never caused problems in your circle. The only one you had issues with was Ruby when you helped me and blackmailed her. That’s why you think it’s her." Chantelle said while picking the torn dresses.
Thea gave a firm nod.
Chantelle went on, "Still, the blackmail alone isn’t enough to make Ruby do something like this. But there’s a good chance it happened because of me."
She believed Ruby was being punished by Joseph.
Ruby had failed to get any useful information from Daniel yesterday. She also failed to kill him.
So now she was venting her anger on Chantelle. Ruby always blamed others when things didn’t go her way.
And the truth was, Chantelle had saved Daniel and ruined Joseph’s plan. freeweɓnovel-cøm
"I checked the surveillance video earlier. The people who broke in came prepared. They went straight for the most expensive dresses."
