Chapter 546: 532, I Only Trust In You (3)_1
Quan Jingwu glanced at the person lying in the stairwell. A mocking sentiment flashed through his deep-set eyes, “I’m glad you’re all right.”
The implication was that he didn’t care whether Song Xirou lived or died.
Quan Yifei rushes down the stairs and quickly helps Song Xirou up. Scratches and swellings blemished her previously pale face while shocking traces of bright red blood stained her lips—it was a horrific sight.
“Xirou, are you all right?”
Although Quan Yifei didn’t think highly of Song Xirou at the moment, the latter was a guest at their house after all. If something were to happen, it would not be good.
With squinted eyes, Song Xirou’s blurry gaze locked onto the figure above. His indifference towards her, whilst his mind was occupied by another woman, Jian Qing, stirred feelings of resentment and hatred in her.
“Yifei, Jian Qing didn’t mean to…”
Barely able to finish her sentence, Song Xirou fainted.
Upon hearing her words, a look of disbelief flashed across Quan Yifei’s face.
Everyone upstairs heard her too. Quan Mingxuan and Han Yue glanced at each other, neither of their hearts believing her words.
Jian Qing remained calm, her lips lightly drawn upwards.
Is this the best she could do?
“Feifei, what happened?”
The mansion’s residents rushed in only to freeze when they saw Song Xirou unconscious in Quan Yifei’s arms.
“What’s going on?” A bad premonition crept up in Rhee’s heart.
“I don’t know, Aunt Rhee. Can you call an ambulance? We need to get her to the hospital first.” Quan Yifei suggested.
Rhee nodded and immediately called for an ambulance.
“Axuan, won’t you come and help carry her down the stairs?” Weng Ya, seeing her son casually leaning against the railing, called out helplessly.
Quan Mingxuan chuckled, “Mom, I’m not strong enough to carry her. Why don’t you ask one of the security guards to take her to the hospital.”
As for helping this damsel in distress, he wouldn’t dare. He’d need to disinfect his hands afterward.
Han Yue found amusement in Quan Mingxuan’s excuses, his strength was lacking?
He could have at least come up with a better excuse.
“You little miscreant.” Weng Ya rebuked, shooting him a glare.
Weng Ya helped Quan Yifei carry Song Xirou downstairs. Observing her retreating figure, a cold glint flashed through Jian Qing’s eyes.
The man’s warm hand rested atop her head. His deep voice echoed in her ear, “Don’t worry.”
Jian Qing looked up at him, her eyebrows raised, and remarked, “She just said I pushed her.”
Quan Jingwu nodded, “I only trust you.”
He wouldn’t believe a word from anyone else.
His concise commendation worked wonders to please her.
A slight smile formed on Jian Qing’s lips. She held his hand tightly, “Let’s go to the hospital and check on her.”
Quan Jingwu’s frowned, “No.”
What was there to see from that woman? It’d only be a waste of time.
“I’ll take you for hotpot instead, with Axuan footing the bill,” he proposed.
Hearing this, Jian Qing’s eyes lit up, immediately abandoning the notion of going to the hospital.
“Okay.”
“…”
Looking at the indifferent couple, Quan Mingxuan felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him.
After losing so much money, could they at least be a bit gentler?
“Then can I come too?” Han Yue interjected.
“Get lost.” Quan Mingxuan retorted.
“Little Axuan, be nice,” said Han Yue as he quickly pinched Quan Mingxuan’s cheek.
Quan Mingxuan’s handsome face darkened as he threw a punch towards Han Yue.
“Han Yue, go to hell.”
Han Yue quickly ducked behind Quan Jingwu for cover.
Jian Qing watched them, amused.
Both of them were such characters.
“Jian Qing, you heard what Song Xirou said earlier. Aren’t you scared she might bite back when she wakes up?” Han Yue asked.
Jian Qing scoffed, “I didn’t even touch the hem of her clothes. I’d like to know how I supposedly managed to push her. If she dares to blacken my name, I’ll splash her reputation with sensationalism.”
“…”
At this, Han Yue burst out laughing, giving her a thumbs-up.
Sensationalism?
Interesting, very interesting!
Outside the operating room, Rhee and the others waited.
“Feifei, what happened on the stairs? Why did Song Xirou fall?” Rhee pulled on Quan Yifei’s sleeve and asked in a whisper.
Quan Yifei shook her head with a conflicted expression, “When I heard the noise, I ran out to see her falling. She even said that Jian Qing didn’t mean to do it.”
But she was sure that Jian Qing didn’t push her. Jian Qing had no reason to do it, and that was not the type of person she was.

There was only one possible explanation—Song Xirou was lying.
Hearing Quan Yifei’s explanation, Rhee’s face darkened, she knew that Song Xirou was not as simple as she appeared to be.
“Feifei, don’t believe her words. Don’t let her deceive you,” warned Rhee.
Quan Yifei reassured her, “Aunt Rhee, don’t worry. I’m not that naive. I know very well what kind of person Jian Qing is. She wouldn’t do such a thing.”
Rhee nodded her agreement, her gaze drifting to the shuttered door of the operating room.
Song Xirou, your unbridled ambitions have finally been laid bare.
Panting, Song Xirou’s parents arrived, having received a call about their daughter’s accident.
“Rourou, how’s my Rourou?” Zhang Tong anxiously echoed down the hallway, rushing to Rhee and asking about her daughter’s condition.
Rhee looked at Zhang Tong, her face remarkably similar to Song Xirou’s, but feeling no fondness for either, answered coldly, “Miss Song is still undergoing examination. The doctor will be out soon.”
“Feifei, didn’t Rourou go to your house to find you? How could she suddenly fall down the stairs? Did something happen?” Upon detecting Rhee’s lukewarm attitude, Zhang Tong redirected her query to Quan Yifei.
“Aunt, I’m not very sure how Xirou fell down. Maybe she was just not careful.” Quan Yifei responded.
Immediately, Zhang Tong retorted, “Impossible, my Rourou is always very careful. How could she just fall down the stairs for no reason?”
Rhee’s face turned cold and her natural aristocratic demeanor took full effect, “Mrs. Song, what exactly do you mean by that? Are you implying that we, the Quan family, deliberately caused harm to your daughter?”
“I…” Encountering Rhee’s stunning, intimidating purple gaze left Zhang Tong speechless.
“Mrs. Quan, that’s not what we meant. Please don’t misunderstand.” Song Yi, pulled Zhang Tong aside, and calmly interjected.
But Rhee continued her icy stare, knowing that if she gave an inch now, Zhang Tong would demand a mile.
Zhang Tong was somewhat dissatisfied, but for her sake of her husband, she refrained from causing a scene.
For what seemed like an eternity, the lights in the operating room finally went out and Weng Ya emerged.
Rhee approached her, “How is it?”
“She has a minor fracture in her left leg, a slight concussion, and some bruises on her wrist and knee. She’ll need to rest well for a while,” Weng Ya reported.
Zhang Tong gasped. “How could it be so serious? Fractures are no laughing matter. If it leaves a lingering ailment, what will we do?”
“We’ll need to see how Xirou is doing first.” Despite everything, Song Yi remained calm.
Zhang Tong looked as though she had more to say, but the warning in Song Yi’s eyes silenced her.
