Chapter 249: Chapter 250: Going Home (II)

Sisi knew that was simply impossible, because she only had two months before she left. She looked at Kael, hoping that he wouldn’t confirm that. But Kael was too happy that he simply forgot... or perhaps he just ignored the fact that Sisi had to leave eventually.

Because Kael nodded to answer his son, "Yes, son. Sisi and I will be together until death do us part, and once I officially mate with her, you can finally call her Mommy."

"Uwaaaahh!" Jojo’s eyes glimmered as he looked at Sisi. "Is that right, Sisi? I can finally call you Mommy?"

Sisi didn’t have the heart to say no, and she nodded again, hoping to tell Kael about this problem later on, because it was truly impossible for them to become a family.

General Gugu and the faeries finally entered the hut after that and asked their darling, "Darling, are you alright? If you get hurt, we can gather some medicine for you!"

Sisi smiled at them. "No need, I’m doing just fine now."

This was the first time Jojo saw the faeries, and he was awed.

"Uwaaah! Sisi, my faerie friends are so cute! You’re Gugu, right?"

"O-oh, yes... I am General Gugu," the general introduced himself rather nervously, because this was the first time he had ever made friends with a cursed being capable of mass destruction.

"And I’m Tutu!" Crush Tutu suddenly appeared behind General Gugu, and the boy got even more excited.

"Waahh! Tutu is here, you look so cute! But where are Roro, Dodo, and Keke?" he asked. "Are they not with you two?"

"They had to go back to Faerie Land because they have things to do, Jojo," Crush Tutu replied. "After this, General Gugu will also have to leave, but worry not, because I will accompany you back to the Beast Kingdom!"

Jojo was disheartened after knowing that he only had one friend now. But he couldn’t tell them to stay, because Sisi told him once that friends would always understand each other.

So the boy tried to understand the situation and nodded. "Un! Let’s go back to the kingdom! I’ll give you fruits and um... do faeries eat meat?"

Crush Tutu giggled as she flew towards Jojo and sat on top of his head.

"Don’t worry, Jojo! I’ll accompany you for the next two months!"

"Two months?" Jojo tilted his head slightly while looking up. "But why only two months, Tutu?"

"Eh? Isn’t it obvious? That’s because—" Tutu was about to tell the truth about their darling needing to return permanently to Faerie Land after the spring ended.

But then, her darling gave her a stern gaze, and Tutu quickly changed her reason just so she wouldn’t get scolded. "T-that’s because I’ll have to return to Faerie Land after two months! I have a grandpa there that I need to visit from time to time!"

"Ohh! That’s okay! But you won’t leave forever, right?"

"Oh, d-don’t worry about it, Jojo. I’ll return... with Dodo and Keke too!"

"Yayyyy!" Jojo turned to his father. "Hear that, Daddy? I finally have many friends!"

"That’s great, son," Kael said, though he couldn’t hear the faeries at all. "Since you’ve recovered from your blindness, it is time to return home. Don’t you miss your bed?"

"Un! I really want to sleep in a comfy bed!" Jojo said before hopping back into Sisi’s embrace.

"I mean, I don’t mind, but aren’t you sleepy? Why don’t we go back in the morning instead?" Sisi suggested.

"I’m not sleepy anymore, Sisi! Uhm, also, I feel very strong and happy right now! I want to jump, run around, and talk with you all day!" Jojo said.

Sisi knew that Jojo’s excitement must’ve been caused by the water from the Origin Spring, since Sisi also felt invigorated when she drank it for the first time.

"Well, that depends on your father then. I don’t mind going home now," Sisi said before looking at Kael.

Kael hadn’t left his eyes off his beloved the whole time. He was trying to make up for all the time they had lost because he severed their bond.

Once Sisi turned her head to stare at him, he was visibly flustered until his cheeks reddened.

"O-oh... let’s go home then," Kael said before hurriedly shifting into his beast form.

He lowered his head, allowing Sisi to hop onto his shoulder while she was carrying Jojo.

The boy shifted into his wolf cub form and comfortably nestled in Sisi’s embrace.

Crush Tutu also hopped on top of her darling’s head, ready for another trip back to the Beast Kingdom.

General Gugu and the soldiers were following the Dusk Star as he walked out of the hut, and before he left, Sisi told Kael to stay still as she talked with the faeries.

"I’ll have to leave for now. Please tell Grandma Tree that the miracle is a success and I..." Sisi was about to say, ’I will return to fulfill my promise.’

But she thought the situation was unfavorable to say that. So she smiled at General Gugu instead. "Don’t worry, I’ll take care of myself. There’s also Tutu who’ll remind me of my responsibility, right?"

"... Right..."

Sisi patted Kael’s nape and said, "Let’s go, Kael. I’m sure Jojo is missing his bed right now."

"Mm!"

Thus, Kael finally leaped far and began dashing quickly through the woods. It didn’t take long before General Gugu and the faerie soldiers lost sight of the cursed beings and their darling.

"General, is it really alright to leave our darling again? What if she doesn’t want to return to Faerie Land?" one soldier asked. "We really need her as our leader, since Elder Toto is getting too old and the younger faeries don’t want to listen to him."

"She will return," General Gugu said. "She is very similar to her late mother, our previous darling. And though they are stubborn, once they make a promise, they will do all it takes to fulfill that said promise. Just like how our previous darling promised to marry her human husband and did absolutely anything so they could be together."
