Modern Traveler-Chapter 106. Airplane
Chapter 106 - 106. Airplane
While Neo was enjoying his night, people around the world were talking about him. They began to investigate Neo's background and his family origins. As the night progressed, another piece of news emerged from the Netherlands: Gray's Vault sold a pink diamond to the royal family. This sparked another debate about whether Neo had many precious stones hidden away.
The night passed, and Neo woke up at 3:30 in the morning. He messaged the group chat containing his siblings and friends, eager to see if they were already awake.
"Good morning! We'll meet at the airport. Be there by 4:30, okay?" he sent. As soon as he hit send, someone replied.
"We can't sleep because of the excitement!" Bea responded.
"We're ready and just waiting for you to wake up! Hahaha!" Jane added.
"The boys and I were just playing video games! We knew the flight would be long, so we planned to sleep on the plane," Tristan chimed in.
Ignoring their chatter, Neo got ready. He didn't intend to bring much, planning to buy clothes at their destination. Sabrina and Madison were still in deep sleep, exhausted from the previous night's excitement.
Once he finished preparing, Neo exited the room and saw George and Amelia already waiting for him.
"You didn't sleep like they did, right? You're so excited!" Neo exclaimed.
"Of course! This is my first time leaving the country!" George replied.
"Are we leaving now, brother? Where's your luggage?" Amelia asked, noticing Neo only had a backpack.
"I thought I'd just buy clothes there! Aren't you doing the same?" Neo responded.
Amelia and George quickly opened their luggage and packed only the essentials. They also messaged their friends about their decision.
"Let's go, Neo. A backpack is enough," George urged.
Amelia also left her luggage behind, and they all exited the house. The T-X units were patrolling the property. They decided to take the Lamborghini Urus, which could accommodate three people. The T-X guarding the gate opened it, and they drove off.
"Brother, who are those people? I saw them, but when I talked to them, they were silent. You hire some weird people!" George remarked.
"Ah, those are T-X units," Neo explained.
"What are T-X units?" Amelia asked.
"You know that Terminator, right? The girl who can't be killed? Hahaha, they're like that," Neo replied.
"So, they were designed to kill?" George asked.
"Yes, to protect us," Neo said as he drove away. The roads were clear at this hour, and they arrived at the airport quickly. Bea and the others were already waiting there for them.
"Lia, over here!" Mika shouted to get their attention. They gathered in one place to check in their luggage. Neo handed them their tickets. After that, they all gathered in the business class lounge and waited for their flight.
Exactly one hour later, they were allowed to board the plane. At the entrance, the cabin crew was checking tickets. When Neo handed over his ticket, the attendant read his name.
"Why is the most handsome and richest man in the world riding a commercial flight?" the beautiful attendant asked, flashing a warm smile.
"Why? Am I not allowed?" Neo replied, smiling back.
"It's not that you're not allowed, but it's so rare for a billionaire to ride a public plane. You're not just a billionaire; you're a trillionaire, sir. You're all over the internet!" she added. Her co-worker, intrigued by their conversation, leaned in to listen.
"I just bought a plane. Why not work for me?" Neo suggested, chuckling.
"What would my salary be?" she laugh and followed up with another question "You won't be cheap, right?" the attendant asked.
"Your salary here is $80,000 max, right? I'll give you $500,000 yearly if you want. If you can recommend someone too, that would be great. Just talk to me if you accept my offer. Take your time! Hahaha. Can you point out where I'll be sitting?" Neo said.
Shocked by the offer, the attendant needed more time to process it. She guided Neo to his seat next to his siblings, then returned to the front of the plane.
"Hey Kat, who was that you were talking to?" asked a colleague who had been eavesdropping but only caught bits of the conversation.
"You didn't see his face, did you? Can't blame you; he was wearing a cap and shades. That's the most famous person right now," Kat replied.
"Come on, there are so many famous people right now," her friend said, curious.
"That was the richest man in the world, Neo Gray. And he offered me a job as a flight attendant on his plane. You know what salary I'd get annually?" Kat said.
"What?! Why would he travel on a commercial flight? You must be imagining things!" her friend exclaimed.
"I'm not! I saw his name on the ticket. He offered me $500,000 annually and said he would like me to recommend someone," Kat insisted.
"Damn! Why didn't you accept it immediately? That's so much money!" her friend said.
"I'll talk to him later. He told me to just go to him if I accepted the offer," Kat replied.
Meanwhile, Neo was already seated on the plane and took out his phone. He messaged Isaac, asking him to introduce him and his parents to a lawyer to ensure everything he did was legal. He also requested if he could have an assistant. He gave Isaac's number to his parents so they could talk later
Neo wanted an assistant for tasks like booking flights and hiring personnel. This was the primary reason he needed help. As soon as the plane took off, George and the others immediately fell asleep, and I did too; last night's activities had been quite intense.
Lunch was being served when the attendant woke us up. The one who served me was Kat.
"Sir, your lunch is here," said Kat.
"So, what's your decision? Are you willing to work with me, or would you like to discuss it further?" Neo asked.
"Sir, what exactly will my job entail to receive a salary like that? To be honest, I've only been working here for about three years, and my annual salary is only $60,000. Why did you pick me?" Kat inquired.
"I understand your concerns," Neo replied. "Let me explain your job. I'm currently traveling around the world. After this trip to Korea, I will be flying solo, and I only need a pilot and flight attendants for my flights. As for why I chose you, that was decided in an instant. When I travel and arrive at my destination, you and the others are free to go, and all your expenses will be covered by me. If I don't fly for a year, or something, you will still receive your salary until you retire."
"That sounds like heaven, sir! I will work for you. I can also introduce you to my best friend, who is also a flight attendant," Kat responded enthusiastically. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Great, Kat. Here's my number. Message me later. I'm just waiting for my future assistant to handle all this hustle and bustle," Neo said.
"Okay, sir," Kat replied as she left with a smile on her face. This was a fantastic opportunity for her and her best friend, and she couldn't wait to contact her when they landed.
