Mated to Four Alphas-Chapter 263: Flashback - 3
Chapter 263: Flashback - 3
Silas chuckled hearing their conversation and sat down on the chair.
"Can I get some water?"
As they heard that, both Lysander and Kael ran into the kitchen to get water for Silas. Seeing them running, Silas was still chuckling.
Damon and Theron stepped forward and sat down in front of him.
"Do you want to eat something delicious, Your Highness?" Damon asked.
Silas was shocked to see how suddenly Damon was talking formally with him, so he shook his head no.
Just then, both Lysander and Kael came back with glasses of water in their hands—because both wanted to be the one to give water to Silas. Neither of them was ready to step back.
"Silas, choose—his glass or mine?" Kael asked.
Silas glanced at both glasses—they were the same. And both of them were waiting for his answer nervously, so Silas took both glasses from them, took one sip from each, and then placed them down on the table.
"See? I told you he would drink the water I brought," Lysander said proudly and sat down beside his brothers, in front of Silas.
"He drank the water I brought too, so don’t think you’ve won the world or something," Kael said, and he also sat down beside Silas—
—while maintaining some distance between them so that he wouldn’t make Silas uncomfortable again like last time.
"Silas, did you come here alone? What about your guards?" Kael asked, since he had seen Silas standing alone at the gate of Lotus Manor.
Silas glanced around. "I ditched my guards and came here directly ’cause if they knew I wanted to come here, they wouldn’t have let me... But leave that aside."
All of them looked at each other after hearing Silas. Then Damon said,
"Your Highness, your guards are for your safety, so don’t ditch them next time. Instead, call us to you—that would be easier."
"Wait, are you blaming me? That I shouldn’t have come here?" Silas pouted because he was angry after hearing what Damon said.
"I didn’t mean to say that, Your Highness," Damon tried to explain.
But then Silas stood up suddenly.
"You’re right. Guards are for my safety, so I shouldn’t stay here with four Alphas. I’m leaving."
"Wait," Kael tried to stop Silas, but Silas didn’t hear anything and left. His guards were searching for him, even though Orian had made up a story that Silas had gone to meet a friend.
And when they found him, they sighed in relief. After that, they returned to the palace.
A week passed, and Silas didn’t go to meet those four brothers again after that day.
Days continued to pass like this, but one day, while he was practicing swordsmanship with other soldiers, his servant suddenly came running toward him.
Orian, who was also working out with the other soldiers, came to Silas when he saw the servant running to him.
"What happened? Why did you come here? Can’t you see I’m practicing swordsmanship right now?" Silas said.
"Your Highness, an invitation from the Miren Pack has arrived. But His Lordship is reading the invitation and is planning to reject it because your name is written on it."
It means they have specially invited Silas there—and it’s Lysander’s birthday party they’re inviting him to.
Silas threw his sword aside and ran into the palace at full speed. He went straight to Jeren’s study and entered without knocking.
As he came in, Jeren’s attention went to Silas. Jeren was in the middle of writing a letter to refuse the invitation. Silas quickly grabbed the letter from him.
"Dad, what are you doing?"
"Silas, you’re sweating a lot. Were you practicing swordsmanship? ...Servants, bring some cold juice for my boy."
A servant quickly left to bring the juice.
"Dad, I heard an invitation letter came for me from the Miren Pack."
"Don’t worry, I’m writing them a reply that you can’t go. Anyway, you never liked going out of the pack, so—"
"No, Dad. I want to go... I mean, I will go outside the pack."
"I can’t always remain in the pack. I have to go out and see the world too. Please, Dad, let me go. Don’t worry about me—I’m strong enough. Trust me."
Jeren stood up from the chair, grabbed some cookies, and handed them to Silas.
"It’s not like I don’t know how strong you are... but it hurts me to send you to another pack."
"Nothing is going to happen, Dad. Please, just this time."
Jeren couldn’t say no to Silas, because whenever Silas said "just this time," Jeren became weak in front of those words.
Whenever Silas needed something, he’d say it—and Jeren would give in.
That same night, Silas packed all his belongings. He was going with his two most trustworthy and strongest guards.
The next morning, he bid goodbye to Orian and Jeren.
Silas had asked Orian the night before if he wanted to come with him or not, but Orian said no—because he had a crush on someone who was in this pack.
That’s why Silas went alone with his guards. It took him another 10 hours to reach the border of that pack. When he entered and reached the palace, his guards stood outside to help him.
As he was about to step out, he saw Theron and Damon standing there.
Damon extended his hand to help him out, and Silas took it.
"Didn’t expect that the prince himself would come to welcome me," Silas said while looking around.
"After all, it was us who sent you the invitation, so of course it’s our duty to come and welcome you as well."
Silas smiled, and they took him inside while his two guards followed behind.
"So, where’s Kael?" Silas asked.
He had met Kael first among the four brothers, and Kael hadn’t come when Silas arrived at their pack.
"He’s busy with something. He’ll come to meet you later, don’t worry," Theron replied, looking away.
"Hey, what was your name... yes, Theron. Are you shy? I mean, are you the introverted type? ’Cause you never make eye contact while talking," Silas asked.
