Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 193 : A New Power!
Chapter 193 - 193 : A New Power!
"Go out and try it."
This time, he didn't choose to wake the sleeping Wanda. Instead, he stepped outside alone, into a relatively open area surrounded by trees and scattered stones.
To avoid disturbing the sleeping witch, Finn conjured a stream of black aura that expanded into a protective sound barrier.
After that was done—
With his fingers clasped together, an immense force began to gather in his palm, and the air around him started to tremble.
The surrounding environment seemed to respond as if every corner had been touched by this gathering force.
It felt like everything in the vicinity could be annihilated.
If Finn had been suppressing his abilities before, this moment marked the emergence of a true sorcerer—one whose unleashed power could reduce everything here to rubble.
No—more accurately, a greater sorcerer.
"Let's try this new power."
A deep, commanding voice emerged from his mouth. Slowly, he lifted his right hand and pointed his palm skyward—then clenched it into a fist.
In an instant—
The sky above shifted violently.
Clouds darkened, swelling with storm energy. Thunder rolled across the heavens, fierce wind howled, and debris began tumbling through the air from all directions.
BOOM!!
A jagged bolt of lightning slashed through the clouds and struck a tree mere feet from where Finn stood.
Trees swayed violently, leaves shot into the air, and branches cracked and snapped.
BOOM!!!
The ground beneath Finn gave way, erupting as the soil surged upward. A wall of earth—tens of meters tall—rose from the impact, pushed by the overwhelming shockwave his magic had unleashed. Even with the protective barrier in place, a faint tremor was felt.
Though subtle, it was more than enough to demonstrate just how destructive this force truly was.
For a few moments, the energy surge blanketed the sky with dust and scattered debris, spinning wildly through the air as though nothing could withstand its power.
"Seems like this trial run was a success."
Finn gazed into the distance, surveying the aftermath of the explosions. This fusion of Kamar-Taj magic and Angelic energy was far beyond anything he'd harnessed before. And the more he felt it flow through him, the more he was drawn to it.
After confirming the results, he turned around and left the training field—there was no reason to linger.
By the time he returned, two hours had passed.
In the main hall.
Finn entered and glanced around. A crowd had gathered, and many pairs of eyes turned to meet his.
He blinked, momentarily confused by the intensity of their stares.
"What are you all looking at me for?"
Finn raised an eyebrow, half-joking. "You look like you're about to interrogate me."
"You disappeared the second we woke up. Come here—the elder prepared breakfast. It's delicious. Hurry up and try it."
Wanda immediately tugged him over and gestured toward the feast on the table. It was drastically different from the previous meal—almost none of the dishes were repeated.
Not only that, but there were plenty of bizarre, unfamiliar foods among them.
Still, the visual presentation was stunning. Some items shimmered with a crystalline glow, others glowed with an ethereal radiance—it almost looked like art rather than food.
And the aroma was absolutely intoxicating, wafting through the room with a potency that seemed capable of overwhelming every other sense.
"Finn, I take it you were trying out your new power this morning?"
The old patriarch smiled, glancing knowingly in Finn's direction. The implication was clear.
He knew what had happened.
"Is that a problem?"
Finn shrugged casually, not denying it. Since his power had already flared so spectacularly, there was little point in pretending otherwise.
"Excellent. You've finally learned to use it."
The elder nodded in approval.
Finn raised a brow. "How did you know?"
"Because it's not ordinary energy—it's something else entirely."
The patriarch's eyes gleamed with something between reverence and mystery.
Finn furrowed his brow.
"It's a force that exists between illusion and reality. Its potential is immeasurable."
The old man clearly anticipated Finn's confusion and offered further explanation. "The spell you used before? That was only scratching the surface. This new energy... it's not like anything else. It's not just magic."
His face lit up, like a scholar uncovering a long-lost secret.
"Got it," Finn said slowly, processing the revelation. It explained the strange sensation he felt when the magic coursed through him.
If the old patriarch was right, then he was just beginning to tap into a much deeper, more ancient power.
"All right, let's eat. I think you'll enjoy these dishes."
The old man gestured to the table with a warm smile. "In two days, we'll seek the right opportunity to investigate the Demon Faction's activity."
Wanda's expression changed.
"That may not be the best idea."
Her tone was calm, but concern lingered beneath it. She'd already heard about the Demon Faction's strength from Brice, and she didn't like what it implied.
Even under controlled circumstances, any encounter with them could turn deadly fast. And more than anything, she didn't want Finn walking into danger.
He was too important.
She loved him. She wouldn't let him die for a cause they barely understood yet.
The old patriarch chuckled softly. "There's no need to worry. We'll go together. Finn won't be alone. And if things turn sour, we'll pull back immediately."
This plan had already been discussed with several of the angels. Barring anything unexpected, the risk would remain manageable.
Besides, their combined strength was formidable, and the goal was only to gather intel, not to start a war.
Wanda exhaled slowly. That helped—somewhat.
Her heart still thudded with dread, but at least the danger wouldn't fall squarely on Finn's shoulders.
"Then I'm okay with it."
She nodded.
"But... do you have a strategy in mind?"
The Dark Witch finally spoke, her voice low and measured. She had remained silent until now, but her concern was just as valid.
Infiltrating the Demon Faction—even passively—was no trivial matter.
One misstep could unleash consequences beyond control.
