Mr Alpha, I Am Not Your Typical Lady!-Chapter 185) Will destroy anyone who hurts her/ Telling her.
I arrived inside the ward, and met Aunt Penelope, who turned to me.
The sight of her shocked me because of the weapons in her hands.
She was supposed to be resting. She ought to be lying in bed.
But rather than that, she was sweating profoundly like someone who had run a marathon. Though I knew she had not run a marathon. She must have spent her time practicing with the swords in her hands.
"Aunt Penelope!". I panicked, before snapping my fingers and making the swords in her hands appear in mine.
After that, I tossed them aside on the ground and hurried to meet her.
It was after I stood in front of her that I said to her. More like, I kind of scolded her, saying, "Aunt Penelope, what are you doing instead of resting? You should be in bed rather than those swords".
"I am fine, my Alpha. You don’t have to worry about me. I got bored lying down, so I had to do something". She said to me, but that only made me worry more about her, because I could tell why she was training.
"Do you want to rejoin the war?". This question slipped out of my mouth, and she grew silent.
Her silence proved my words and made my heart heavy. "You don’t have to rejoin the battle, Aunt Penelope. After what happened, seeing you on the battlefield is the last thing I ever wanted to see". I said to her and was heck serious about it.
The pain of how I thought I lost her.
The horror and the piercing feelings I felt deep within my heart. I don’t think I want to experience that again. I don’t want to experience such a thing again.
She smiled at me, before placing her palm on the side of my cheek. She said to me while looking into my eyes, "I am a warrior, Anastasia. I’m not a coward".
She continued to say to me, "Yes, I lost Paloma. Yes, I might not be as strong as I used to be".
"Yes, I might die any time in battle. But, sitting back and watching you and the others fighting on the frontline while I remain on the sidelines is worse than death for me". .
She concluded, and honestly, with the serious look in her eyes, I knew that she was beyond listening to any words that were coming out of my mouth about her sitting back.
I sighed in defeat and ran my fingers through my hair. "You are stubborn". I muttered, with my voice sounding hurt and heavy.
"I got that from my father". She said, forcing a smile on my face.
"Anyway, care to explain why he stubbornly wouldn’t allow Beta Damien to take you back to the mansion after you fell asleep on his face". She said to me while staring at Nikolai this time around.
Her question caused my eyes to widen in shock, because I didn’t expect the news of that to reach her so fast.
"How did you learn of that?". I asked her immediately.
"Last time. You took longer to return, so Beta Damien went to look for you. Only for him to return to the hospital and tell me that he was threatened by the Lycan King, your mate, to leave you be, as you requested him to not stop moving". She said, indirectly throwing another bomb at my face.
’She already knows that he is my mate?! It must be Damien’s doing’. I thought and looked guilty while I stared at Aunt Penelope. I felt guilty simply because it was not from me that she learned the truth, but from someone else.
"Aunt-". I wanted to say, but did not finish my words when Aunt Penelope left my side and went to Nikolai.
’What is she trying to do?’. Elektra asked me, but I didn’t reply to her since I had no clue what Aunt Penelope was up to.
"To think that someone of your status would humble yourself in order to make my niece comfortable, that is something gracious of you". She said to him, and her words made me sigh, because I thought she was going to straight out reject him.
But why would I be worried about that? Unless I truly... liked him?
I slightly shook my head at the thought of that, but the thoughts in my mind did not really disappear.
"I will keep on watching you. If my niece does accept you as her mate, I have nothing against it. But if you ever hurt her, you would have to go through a raging Aunt". She threatened me, making me stunned because of her boldness and the amount of courage she had for her to say such a thing to the Lycan King!
Wasn’t she afraid that he was going to hurt her?!
The atmosphere turned dark, causing me to flinch as I fixed my gaze on Nikolai, since he was the cause of the changes.
"I will give you my word right now. I will never hurt her. But if anyone ever hurts her, I will destroy them and make sure that nothing is left of them". He said, and even though his voice sounded calm as he said that, I felt something crawl on my skin.
Not only that.
I heard a voice inside my head which said to me this: ’With him in your life, your destiny is bound to chance’. The sudden strange feelings I felt gave me the creeps, but I tried to compose myself despite that.
"Good". Aunt Penelope nodded at me, before she returned her attention to me. "Now would you please tell me who the twins are? I am curious. Damien has refused to tell me anything about them".
"He said it was best if you told me about them yourself". She added.
At this point, I knew that I needed to tell her everything. But at the same time, I was a little bit scared that the news was going to shock her and affect her health.
"Aunt Penelope, please promise me that you won’t freak out if I tell you the truth". I demanded.
"Freak out? Why so?". She asked me as she refused her brows at me in confusion.
"Just promise me you won’t get shocked". I repeated, looking desperate.
She sighed. "Fine, I promise". She finally said the word I wanted to hear, and that gave me the assured boost I wanted.
Upon taking a deep breath, my eyes turned serious as I said to her, "Those twins are my brothers. They are my father’s sons and Aunt Luciana’s sons. And yes, the Luciana I am talking about is my mother’s twin sister".
