Married To The Mad Vampire Lord-Chapter 105: Turned to slaves
Chapter 105: Turned to slaves
"There’s no need for that," Rohan said as he stood to his feet to turn to look at the vampiress who was placed in charge of the boutique.
His bunny did not want him to kill them, something he had planned to do, but then he could tell she wasn’t happy about something, and he wouldn’t want to further make her unhappy by killing the useless beings for crossing the line.
He had gone to deal with the case of the witch’s house that was found burnt down that morning. The townspeople who had seen it had brought the matter to their magistrate, who in turn had sent for the Duke. And as much as he wanted nothing to do with that bitch, he had to appear—especially when another case of missing children had been brought to him.
He somewhat liked being a head of authority, especially when he was the master of breaking it. It was fun for him, in a twisted kind of way, to solve crimes and send people—innocent or not—to execution.
Not to mention that morning he had been tortured with a painful erection that lasted for more than an hour, something that had never happened to him in the past because he had women waiting on him in his castle at night, and even when he was in the asylum he wasn’t deprived of that, as the ever-so-resourceful Rav smuggled in whores for him.
He was used to having his way in that aspect of life until now. Now he is a married man, and a married man does not fuck around with whores. He’d left his painful erection to rest inside his trousers and focused on his work in the town until it became nonexistent.
Knowing his second cousin and wife planned to come here, as Rav had informed him through their link which boutique they were in, he had decided to come after he was done. He had a feeling his cousin would play one of her cruel games on his bunny in his absence.
She wouldn’t be Cordelia if she only wanted to shop with a human without other intentions.
He tucked his hands into his pockets and waited until Rav came into the room, leaving the others inside waiting for his final decision on what to do with those who had insulted his wife.
When Rav came in, holding two crossbows and looking around like he didn’t know what had happened, he bowed to his master.
"My Lord."
"Rav, did you see the two insolent humans outside the door of the room?" he asked with a nonchalant air. "Take them to the slave establishment and give them away to the Warden. They are to be marked and sold as slaves," he declared.
They had insulted his wife like they did every other slave, so it was only fitting that they become what they scorned. He liked that form of punishment.
"Yes, my Lord. I’ll get to it immediately." Rav bowed and left the room—and no sooner had he gone than the screams of the girls echoed as they heard what their punishment would be.
Once someone was taken and given into the slave house, there was no way out ever again. You were bound to the harsh treatment forever, stepped on by everyone. It was a punishment worse than death for people who had spent their lives mocking slaves despite being humans themselves.
"Forgive me! I will kiss the lady’s feet and be her servant—don’t make me a slave! I have a mother and a grandmother to feed, and I need my work to earn money! Please...!" one of the girls screamed as Rav dragged her away. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
But her plea earned her no mercy—not even from the one she had insulted and humiliated. She had not thought of any of that when she was hitting the mad lord’s wife.
Once their screams faded, Madam Elizabeth knew she wouldn’t be spared for letting such a thing happen under her roof. She nervously tried to make amends before the mad vampire could turn to her.
Quickly, she spoke up, "My lady," she addressed the silent Belle, "what would you like in our boutique? Whatever you want will be given to you for free. You can take anything you fancy—I will make sure to cover every payment. Look at the collection of our jewelry and..."
For the rest of the time Belle remained in the refreshments room, Madam Elizabeth was all over her, presenting one display of gold and jeweled treasures after another like her life depended on it.
Belle would not have wanted anything in the boutique, truly, she wasn’t interested. But to her surprise, Rohan took the woman’s desperate words literally and began to pick from the most expensive things she brought forward for his wife. He did it with a casual air, completely unfazed, while the madame sweated buckets every time he reached for a limited edition item and placed it beside Belle.
Lord, the mad vampire was going to turn her into a poor woman in a single day!
She wasn’t even the owner of the boutique, just someone placed in the position. She had spoken the words of giving everything for free expecting him, like most nobles, to have the pride to decline the offer.
But no! He was shamelessly accepting and even taking the most expensive things with the nonchalance of a man shopping for apples!
My way to poverty is being carved out before my eyes!

Some time passed in the refreshments room where Belle had been given many things she did not believe she could use all in this lifetime. Rohan had gone overboard taking things and meticulously handpicking expensive items, from necklaces to shoes and gowns. He even came to help her try on a few of the jewelries and decided if it suited her or not.
When she had tried to caution him about the expensive things he was taking and how the madam looked like she was on the verge of tears, he had turned and smiled at her and then said,
"We can’t just let go of a lifetime opportunity of shopping for free, Isa. She said it herself, she would cover the payment and it would be totally rude if you don’t make her reduce the weight of the coins dangling in her pockets and pulling her down, tsk. Too much gold coins can be bad for one’s attitude. Right, Madam Elizabeth?" He smiled at the woman who returned it with a tight, nervous one.
"Y-yes, my Lord."
Belle could see the woman didn’t mean what she said, but to save her own life, she had to watch as her money got used right before her eyes, and Belle couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. Unlike the humans who had humiliated her, the woman had not hit her, but then she had been aware of it and turned a blind eye.
Stopping Rohan wasn’t an option now that he was hellbent on shopping for more, to the point that he left the refreshments room to browse the other shops in the building.
Cordelia, who had come to shop, expected Rohan to pay for everything she bought, and she was utterly shocked when he told her to her face to go and get her father’s money to pay for her own shopping. She had picked a necklace and wanted to add her own part of the things along with his when he stopped her.
"I hope you plan to pay for that yourself, Cordie?"
She glanced at him with a coy smile. "You told us to shop on you when we said we wanted to go shopping in town, so—"
"I told my wife, not you," Rohan cut her off with a devilish smile and a wicked glint in his eyes. "You are not my responsibility, dear cousin. You have a father—or better yet, go get yourself a husband."
He patted her shoulder and then continued his browsing, whistling to himself while she fumed with rage and humiliation, as he had spoken in a voice loud enough for Madame Elizabeth and the other staff following him, carrying Belle’s shopping bags, to hear.
They all turned to her with eyes that seemed to be judging her. Cordelia had never felt this much humiliation and insulted. She was used to everyone looking at her with respect and envy, but with just a few words, Rohan had made her into a mocking thing. The vampire staff were even whispering to each other while looking at her.
She wanted to gouge their eyes out, but then she composed herself and smiled, "Yes, you are right. I should pay with my father’s money. Madame Elizabeth, I will take everything I have chosen, send the price to my father and he—"
"I am sorry, Lady Cordelia. But we no longer give debt payments, and the owner of the boutique has cancelled the Garth house from those to be given things on pending payments. It’s either you pay before taking the things, or you keep them back," said Madam Elizabeth with a serious expression and a strict voice. If it weren’t for this vampiress whom she had made the mistake to entertain, she wouldn’t have been thrust into such debt herself by the mad vampire.
She had only pretended not to see her attendant hitting the human because she thought the human was a slave to the vampiress, and because the lady had always given a large tip after her shopping.
But Elizabeth had forgotten the rumors about her family being deep in debt.
Furthermore, the vampiress had made them all dig a grave without telling them they would be buried in it.
Why hadn’t she told them the human wasn’t her slave?
She should have given her attention to the human had she known she was the bride brought from Aragonia.
"In fact, Miss Cordelia, I don’t think you should be inside the boutique since you are not buying anything. Please step out and wait for His Lordship and the lady to finish shopping." Madam Elizabeth added, angry and bitter that the vampiress had put her in this mess.
