Chapter 98: Lianna’s truth 2

Knowing that the other warrior mages had returned Serah and the other dead mage’s bodies to Credia, Lianna decided to pursue boiling Genevieve, whose goal was to find and destroy all Statkus mages.

Lianna enjoyed seeing her sister in pain, but she had never seen her sister so enraged that she was taken aback.

Lianna couldn’t deny that she was sad after her mother’s death and seeing her mother’s dead body, but her jealousy for Genevieve and anger towards Serah for loving Genevieve more than her quickly overcame those sad emotions.

It was soon nighttime, and they arrived in a vast area far from Credia, surrounded by Statkus mages, their growls and snarls echoing.

They had tents.

How strange.

"You creatures are going extinct!" yelled Genevieve, with only vengeance in her heart.

Lianna screamed, unable to stop her sister from attracting trouble.

"What are you up to?" She asked angrily, grabbing Genevieve’s arm. "You are going to get us killed! we are outnumbered!"

Genevieve jerked away, her eyes red with rage. "We are talking about our mother here!" They were quickly surrounded by Statkus mages after she screamed.

Lianna had no choice but to join the fight, and despite the fact that they were both fighting skillfully, they were outnumbered, resulting in them being overpowered and injured.

The sisters were both wind mages, and their powerful wind could drain the air from one’s lungs like a raging storm.

Lianna was hit by a Statkus mage’s blast and bumper into her sister, and they both fell to the ground, Genevieve spraining her ankle.

When they heard a loud raging roar, the Statkus mages all pointed their staffs at them to disintegrate them.

When Genevieve noticed a large black dragon above them, she and her sister shielded themselves with a glowing shield.

Without hesitation, the dragon breathed fire on all of the Statkus mages, reducing them to nothing but dust. Nothing but screams and shrieks of pain could be heard after that.

Lianna coughed sharply, and Genevieve held her breath until the thick smoke around them cleared.

The dragon landed with a thud in front of them.

The shield placed around Lianna and Genevieve disappeared, and they stood in a fighting stance until Genevieve’s sprained ankle caused her to scream.

The dragon transformed into an ethereal worried-looking man as Lianna held her sister from falling.

He was a tall, well-built man with shining blonde hair neatly combed to the back and emerald eyes that twinkled as he looked directly at Genevieve, who was in pain.

Lianna’s jaw dropped at the handsome man in front of her, and she lost focus, causing her sister to fall on her buttocks.

"Lia!" Genevieve screamed out in agony.

"Oh, my lady!" The man exclaimed in surprise, rushed over to Genevieve, and assisted her in standing.

"What is the matter?" He inquired, concerned, as Genevieve clung to his shoulder, attempting to stand on one leg while he wrapped his arms around her.

"T..Thank you for saving us." She was flustered.

"My pleasure," the man said with a loving smile.

Lianna, who was watching this, became envious. Her sister was also admiring the person she was admiring! Her heart was racing.

Later that night, the dragon built a fire and they all sat around it, staring at it silently.

The dragon looked at Genevieve, whose mind had wandered, with a smile on his lips.

Lianna swallowed hard as she noticed the sparks between her sister and the man she was eyeing.

She needed to divert his attention away from Genevieve and toward herself.

"What is your name? Why did you come to our aid? I am sure you are aware that mages and dragons do not get along." Lianna interrogated, attracting the dragon’s attention.

He chuckled. "I am Lord Rares Adrelean of the south side Antica, Elisium." He introduced.

"Antica? The ice dragons home? But you are a fire dragon!" Genevieve couldn’t believe her ears.

"Let’s say, they were very good to my ancestors." Rares smiled which warmed Lianna’s heart.

"Thank you for saving us. Today hasn’t really been a good since those creatures killed my mother." Lianna feigned sadness and sniffed.

"What? I am so sorry for your loss." Rares felt bad for them without knowing that they were sisters at that time.

Lianna didn’t want to tell him and Genevieve kept slipping away in her thoughts to even notice while Rares kept looking at her like she was the one meant for him.

"Are you alright my lady? I am sure your ankle hurts a lot." Rares said bringing Genevieve out of her thoughts.

Genevieve smiled at him. "Honestly, I have been hurt so many times more than this."

"You seem like a very strong warrior, I saw the way you fought those Statkus mages." Rares chuckled.

"You know about them don’t you?" Genevieve asked, inhaled and stood up but her ankle made a loud noise sending her to shout in pain and fall on Rares who immediately held her in his arms.

Her face turned red in both pain and embarrassment. "I am alright." She whispered.

"Just stay like this for a while, I will take you and your friend back to your kingdom." Rares told her calmly.

"She is my sister." Genevieve smiled nervously and looked at Lianna who was staring at them failing to hid the anger on her face.

"Lia?" Genevieve asked surprised wondering why Lianna was angry with her.

Lianna stood up and forced a smile. "I am going for a walk; please don’t bother looking for me." She then walked away, disappearing into the darkness.

Lianna arrived in a forest, blowing the trees down with her powers in rage, screaming in rage, and remembering all the times Genevieve has taken things that belonged to her.

She despised Genevieve, but she knew the truth: Genevieve was stronger than her.

Jealousy clouded Lianna’s mind and heart.

Suddenly, three older-looking Statkus mages appeared behind her and blasted her with a glow from their staffs, knocking her to the ground.

One male and two females.

"What are you doing far away from your kind, wind mage?" Jestia, a Statkus mage, cackled, her voice disgustingly raspy.

Lianna sighed in pain and stood up to panting. "You disgusting creatures, stay away from me," she growled angrily.

"With so much jealousy in your heart, my dear, do you want victory over your enemies?" Inkadon inquired, her dead eyes fixed on Lianna.

"You are my enemies," Lianna clenched her fists and growled at them.

"If you come with us, you will have great powers, but we will destroy your kind and spare you only to rule over the pesky humans who will remain." Jorad, the male Statkus mage, spoke up suddenly, his bloodied teeth flashing in front of Lianna’s eyes, earning her a smile.

"Well, they do not care about me, so why should they live?" She asked, triumphantly laughing.
