Chapter 97: Lianna’s truth 1

Sage walked nervously past the dungeon cells. Her steps were slow and careful, her chest rising and falling slowly as her mind tried to play dungeon terrors that must have happened.

The cells were so dark that even the fire torches in the dungeon couldn’t light them up.

Were there any living beings in those spaces?

Sage swallowed, puzzled as to how Darren had escaped from the dungeon. She hoped he was okay because she was the one who got him locked up in the first place, but why did Sergio let him out? What was their relationship?

"Sage?!" In a dark space beside her, a familiar voice filled with pain called out.

Sage came to a halt and took a slow look around.

Sage walked closer to see Lianna visible and she looked terribly fifthly as her dirty bloodied hands gripped the sturdy bars.

"Sage, my dear," she said, her smile trembling.

Was she trembling with joy?

Sage was so disgusted by the woman in front of her that she clenched her fists, desperately trying to keep herself from killing her.

"Do you want me to hug you or release you? Do you want me to disregard the fact that you have been deceiving me? Do you want me to tell you that I do not think you murdered my mother?" Sage inquired, her eyes filled with rage and pain.

Lianna immediately realised what was going on and froze in despair. Her eyes welled up with tears, and she burst out crying.

"I can not beg you to forgive me, but please stay away from those Statkus mages." Lianna pleaded.

"Your own kind?" Sage inquired angrily, and Lianna appeared nervous.

"Isabella is extremely vexing. She screams and complains all day in my ears and deserves to die." Lianna groaned.

"And you are not? You have Statkus powers!" Isabella screamed, and Lianna burst out laughing.

"You know nothing, child." She said it in a harsh, wicked tone.

"I know a lot of things, but the most important thing I know is that you will die in my hands!" Sage screamed.

"Come here, child," Lianna yelled, grabbing Sage’s arm.

Sage gasped in surprise, staring into Lianna’s teary, pain-filled eyes. "My truth, the truth." With a creepy smile, Lianna said.

"Mother! That was not her apple, but mine!" Little Lianna screamed at her mother, Serah Donovan, who was handing a shiny red apple to a delighted little Genevieve.

Serah giggled as Lianna frowned deeply and rubbed her head playfully. "You already had two apples, and Genevieve had none." Serah stated.

"I do not care; I just want my apple!" Lianna screamed and charged at Genevieve, who gasped and blasted Lianna with a strong gust of wind, sending her flying across the dining room and slamming her back against the wall.

Genevieve was startled, and Lianna collapsed to the ground, sobbing.

Serah dashed over to Lianna and snatched her into her arms. "You shouldn’t scare your sister, you know how strong she is." Serah patted Lianna, who was staring murderously at a guilty looking Genevieve.

"Are you stronger than me?" She inquired, her voice firm.

"Lia," Serah laughed.

Mages of various hair colours, both young and old, roamed the kingdom of Credia doing what they did in their everyday lives. The kingdom was in summer, with green trees visible, a bright blue sky, and a scorching sun.

In the castle, Lianna, who appeared to be at least nineteen years old, was seen reading a book in the library, and Genevieve was seen staring at the sun with a faint smile on her face in the castle’s courtyard.

Credia had been repeatedly attacked by Statkus mages at the time, and warrior mages were all preparing for another battle with them.

Lucian, a calm-looking man with a calm demeanour, ran into his daughter, who was lost in her gaze at the sun.

"Everything will be fine, dear; you have been doing great lately." Lucian whispered calmly, and Genevieve looked worriedly at her father.

"If only there was a way to keep them out forever." Genevieve sniffed and muttered.

"There is a way, and you will find it." Genevieve nodded as Lucian said with a smile.

"By the way, Lianna needs to get married. After the war, a ball will be held to see if she can find a suitable groom." Genevieve smiled brightly when Lucian suddenly revealed.

"Amazing!" Lucian smiled at his pure-hearted daughter as she giggled happy for her sister.

"Where has mother gone?" Genevieve asked, her voice full of excitement.

"She went to pick some berries in the forest." Lucian responded, and Genevieve gasped in surprise.

"Not at this critical time!" Genevieve screamed and bolted.

Genevieve could sense danger even though she knew her mother was being escorted by warrior mages.

She dashed to the stable, grabbed a horse, and rode it quickly out of the kingdom and into the forest.

As she rode deeper into the forest, she began to see the bodies of warrior mages who had escorted her mother, and when she got off the horse, she discovered her mother dead on the hard forest ground.

Genevieve became terrified when she noticed her mother had dried up like a corpse and was immobile. She had been poisoned, and the effects were immediate.

Genevieve sobbed, deeply hurt by her mother’s death. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Her teary emerald eyes shone brightly, and a purple glow sparkled in front of her, creating a hologram of Lianna.

"Please come, Lianna." Lianna could hear her voice in her head.

Lianna, who was still in the library, received the message and quickly arrived where Genevieve was, accompanied by some warrior mages.

Genevieve sobbed as she hugged her. "Mother is no longer alive; those creatures murdered her!" Genevieve sobbed.

Lianna’s eyes welled up as she stared at her mother’s body. She could feel Genevieve’s blood boil rise.

Genevieve drew back from her. "Those repulsive creatures must perish!" She screamed angrily, turned away, and stormed into the forest.

Lianna inhaled deeply and moved slowly towards her mother’s dried-up corpse. ’You deserve death, mother, you loved her more than I, and seeing her in pain makes me very happy.’ With a wicked satisfied smile, she said in her thoughts.
