Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 72: I prefer parrot
"Lianna, keeping her away is for her own good." A purple haired woman’s spoke firmly standing in front of young Lia who looked hesitant.
The lady was stunning. She had milky white skin, emerald eyes that twinkled, heart-shaped pink lips, a small pointed nose, and a tall curvy body. Her emerald eyes glowed suspiciously at Lianna, who appeared hesitant.
They were both standing in the heart of a dark, cold, snow-covered forest located in Antica.
"Why are you hesitant?" The woman asked Lianna curiously.
"Father and mother gave all their love to you but you still went against their wishes! Now you want me to protect that abomination called a child!" Lianna suddenly screamed out in anger. "You are a disgrace! You summoning me here just for your selfish reasons!"
"You are my sister! You have to help me!" The woman’s eyes moistened as she screamed back. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Lianna bursted into laughter and wiped a tear in her eyes. "Sister? I have denounced you ever since you stole my love for me!" Lianna yelled. "I hate you Genevieve!"
Genevieve’s eyes grew wide in shock. "You were in love with.."
"I am still in love with him! But he chose you! Always you! You always take everything from me!" Lianna cut in screaming hysterically.
Genevieve stood still in shock watching her sister scream. Tears streamed down her eyes seeing the pain in her sister’s eyes.
"Lia..."
"Don’t! The damage is already done, you have a child for him." Lianna interrupted sniffling.
"Children," Genevieve sighed. "Two."
Lianna swallowed hard and rubbed her face. "I see," She cleared her throat. "What is so special about this one to keep her away?" She asked crossing her arms across her chest.
"Because she.. she is a fire mage." Genevieve revealed hesitantly.
Lianna could swear that she almost passed out in shock but she controlled herself and ended up choking on her breath instead.
"W..what?! How is this possible?!" She coughed.
"Immediately she was born, I sensed the portal of Statkus and it has been op..ened. They will come for her.. I can not think of any..one but you to protect her." Genevieve stuttered eagerly then turned away, walked towards a tree and squatted.
A white basket appeared immediately, with a warmly clothed baby sleeping peacefully inside. Little strands of red hair lay on her head, her nose was small and pointed, her lips were small and pink, and her skin was milky white, just like her mother’s.
Lianna, who was watching this, frowned deeply. Her hands were clenched and trembling, and her chest was rising and falling in anger and jealousy.
She extended her arm towards her sister, who was gazing lovingly at her child. A strong force of green and black light began to form above her palm, and she smiled evilly, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Goodbye sister," She muttered earning Genevieve’s attention.
She gasped and turned to Lianna. "No!" She screamed grabbing the basket, carried her child and hugged her fearfully.
Just as Lianna released the blast, a white figure swept around her, arrived in front of Genevieve and a large glowing ice shield appeared. The blast broke the shield but Genevieve and her child were safe.
"What!" Lianna shrieked.
"Argh! You are hurting my ears with your yelling and shrieking!" A cold deep voice yelled in anger behind her.
Lianna turned to the direction slowly to see Cyrus who wore a very cold expression walking towards her. He didn’t change a bit from how he was in the present. His aura struck her with fear and she immediately knew who he was.
Suddenly, the baby started wailing loudly causing Cyrus to flinch in anger.
"Stop it from crying!" He snapped at Genevieve who smiled at Cyrus like he was her savior.
Lianna saw that he was distracted and wanted to vanish away but just as she moved a muscle, Cyrus appeared extremely close to her and caught her neck.
"Kneel." He growled and she did immediately.
He tightened his grip around her neck and smacked her head hard casting a spell that would avoid her from moving.
He released her neck and glared at Genevieve who was swaying and shushing the loud crying baby.
"She has human life span." Cyrus spoke with distaste.
"All the mages born this time will have human life span due to the loss of our elders, sire." She lowered her head in respect still swaying the crying baby.
"Poor souls. You and Lianna are only ones left. Well, apart from the ones that will come out of the reopened portal of Statkus." Cyrus spoke nonchalantly.
Genevieve sighed deeply and walked towards Cyrus who looked irritated by the child cries. "Please, take her!" Genevieve begged.
Cyrus narrowed his eyes at the crying child. Immediately his silver eyes met her teary shiny emerald ones, he felt strange.
"I can not." He suddenly said and turned away.
"Why?!" Genevieve exclaimed in disappointment.
"I am already a danger, I will bring more to her." He stated firmly. "But the main reason is because, she looks like a parrot." He ended his words with a scoff and walked towards Lianna who was gasping for air.
Genevieve smiled at her child and walked towards Cyrus who glared at her. "You saved me, why?" She asked smiling gratefully.
"Out of impulse." Cyrus growled, his silver eyes on unreadable.
Genevieve nodded and looked at Lianna who looked furious as she tried to move. "You tried to kill me." She sighed deeply with sadness and looked back at Cyrus.
"The Statkus mages wiped out all the elders. I succeeded in closing the portal but.. I do not understand why her birth caused it to reopen." Genevieve heart felt heavy as she spoke. "I feel like all my labor is in vain and now.. I am punished with a child that they would want."
"Only fire mage in existence." Cyrus narrowed his eyes at the child who was now staring at him with curiosity. He moved closer and she reached out her hands towards him.
Her slowly placed his finger on her cheek and wiped her tears away. For some reason he disliked seeing her tears.
Genevieve who watched this widened her eyes in shock.
"What is her name?" Cyrus asked slowly, his focused on the child who was now holding his finger with both her hands and smiling brightly.
"Sage Adrelean." Genevieve informed slowly.
"Hmm," Cyrus titled his head to the side, his cold eyes peering into little Sage’s as if searching for her soul. "Just right, but I prefer parrot." He then turned away and walked away with glancing back at them, not even for a second.
