Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 107: Wait a while
When Cyrus returned to the room at midnight, Sage was sound asleep, with Snowflake asleep beside her.
The room was cold, the wind blew the curtains in, and thankfully, the fireplace in the room kept the room warm.
He took slow steps towards the bed, admiring sleeping Sage who was smiling while sleeping.
"Is she dreaming about me?" He asked, tilting his head and pausing his steps.
He wanted to sleep next to her, with her wrapped in his arms. He wanted to feel her warmth and smell her scent.
Cyrus chuckled and resumed his walk towards the bed when Snowflake’s eyes flew open and flashed a sliver narrowing at Cyrus, who immediately halted his steps.
Cyrus and Snowflake were immediately covered with a bright glow and when the glow vanished, they were in their dark state.
Cyrus smiled deviously and yawned stretching his arms out. "It has been a while Snow," He said to Snowflake who jumped off the bed and ran towards him.
Cyrus scooped Snowflake into his arms and had a staring contest with the nine tailed fox for while.
Sage whimpered being asleep and turned to face the opposite side removing her face from view of Cyrus.
Cyrus noticed this and dropped the nine tailed fox on the ground. "Wake up arrogant parrot," He hissed and walked towards the bed, pulled the blanket off Sage who was wearing a night gown.
He hovered over her, grabbing her wrist and placing two fingers on her wrist to feel her pulse. As he slid his fingers up her arm, her veins became visible, and a gleaming liquid fire could be seen flowing through them.
"Wait a while, time seems slow, very slow." Cyrus leaned in close to her and whispered. "Arrogant parrot." He hissed and moved away from Sage, off the bed, and covered her with the blanket.
His blue slit eyes glimmered darkly as he placed his fingers on his lower lip, remembering how she bit his lower lip.
"Do I have to teach her a lesson?" He turned to Sage, grabbed her hand, and examined her palm to see if the scar he had created before was still visible. "I can make it hurt her," he added curtly, his fingers caressing the scar.
Suddenly, he and Snowflake were enveloped in a glow once more. He let go of Sage’s hand, moved away as the glow faded and he returned to his normal state.
He felt dizzy and had no recollection of what had happened, but his dizziness made him realise that he had entered his dark state.
In a panic, he looked at Sage to see if she had been hurt in any way. He sighed in relief and glared murderously at Snowflake after realising she was fine and truly asleep.
"Put a stop to it." He growled, but Snowflake only stared blankly at him.
"I know he wants to take over, but you are motivating him." Cyrus turned away, growling at Snowflake.
"Go check on mother at the tower and let me know if she is there or not." Cyrus gave a harsh command and walked away to the balcony.
In frustration, he scratched his hair and stared at the crescent moon. "I won’t be able to stay with her tonight." He whispered, climbed the railing with ease, and jumped off.
....
Sage sighed and stretched her arms and legs on the bed before rubbing her hand on the empty space by her side where Cyrus should have been.
Her eyes widened, then reduced as she realised Cyrus wasn’t there. She sat down and looked around the room before getting out of bed and going to the balcony to see that it was approaching dawn, despite the fact that the sun was obscured by angry-looking snow clouds.
She returned to the room, her eyes searching for Cyrus, and went to the bathing room, which was also empty.
"Where has he gone?" She inquired, concerned, and returned to the room with a sad expression, realising that Cyrus had not slept in the room the previous night.
"He is probably busy, he did say so," She muttered.
She sighed, remembering how Cyrus rarely slept in the room before, but she thought that now that their relationship was stronger, things would change, but she appeared to be wrong.
Sage was soon visited by Ava, who led her to the bathroom, dressed her, and brought her breakfast.
Sage decided to begin reading the books Cyrus had given her in order to distract herself from him and learn more about elder mages from the books.
"My queen, I am bored; can I brush your hair to keep myself entertained?" Ava, who had just finished organising Sage’s clothes, inquired hesitantly.
"All right," Sage said as she stood up and sat in the chair in front of the mirror.
While engrossed in reading, Ava took a brush from the table and began brushing her hair.
Ava was startled and dropped the brush when she heard a knock.
"Oops," she said nervously, picking up the brush.
"Please come in!" Sage informed the person behind the closed door.
The door opened, revealing Mirabella, who was as radiant as when Sage first saw her.
"My lady," Ava respectfully bowed to Mirabella.
Sage was taken aback when she saw Mirabella. She stood up and faced Mirabella, who was smiling.
"Here to ask about Cyrus whereabouts?" Sage inquired, a slight frown on her face.
"Jealous? You weren’t previously envious," Mirabella made a joke.
"What exactly are you doing here?" Sage asked, clearly annoyed.
"I am here to tell you that you will be seeing me a lot more soon." Mirabella revealed herself and pulled Sage’s nose.
Sage slapped her hand away. "Stop being nice to me. It was not because of me that your sister was released from the dungeon." Sage grumbled.
"You completely forgot to tell Cyrus about it, or you didn’t tell him because you despise me? I see what you are saying." Mirabella said with a sly grin.
Sage looked disgusted at Mirabella. "Please excuse me; I do not wish to speak with you." Sage returned to the chair and sat in it.
"Very well, Queen Sage Dragos, see you soon," Mirabella teased as she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
"I do not care." Sage grumbled and opened the book on her laps.
