Chapter 343: A Habit of Cheating

Angelica couldn’t understand it—how could Logan be this cold just for Selina?

She was his lifesaver. Was it really that hard for him to spare her even a glance?

Tears rolled down Angelica’s cheeks. "Logan, I don’t think I’ve done anything to wrong you. Do you really have to be this ruthless?"

"It was just a maid’s mistake—not bringing in an extra chair. It wasn’t a big deal. But did you really have to insult me by calling me an outsider? I’m pregnant. I can’t handle this kind of stress. And there’s no way Uncle and Aunt would intentionally target Selina. Why... why are you doing this?"

Amelia’s eyes flickered, then she jumped in, "Logan, Angelica is right. She’s pregnant. Even if it’s just for the baby’s sake, you shouldn’t make her stand while eating."

Luke was fuming—this wasn’t even Logan’s child! Why should Logan be responsible?

He was about to speak when Logan beat him to it.

The man stood slowly, expression unreadable. "Fair enough. Since Miss Morris is pregnant, she should take a seat first."

Daniel checked the time—Joe should be arriving soon. He cut to the chase, "What are you planning to do about the baby?"

Logan said calmly, "If the child is part of the Reid Family, then it will be born and raised here."

Angelica visibly relaxed at those words.

That meant Logan had accepted the child.

She could stay in the Reid Family now—rising to the top was just a matter of time.

Sure, Selina was prettier than her, but beauty fades. What if Selina’s looks were ruined someday? Would Logan still be interested?

But she was different. She was his so-called "lifesaver." With that bond between them, love would follow. Angelica believed in that.

Blushing, Angelica said deliberately, "Logan... you’re willing to let me keep the baby. But will Selina be okay with it?"

Logan chuckled lightly.

Selina, feigning innocence, replied, "Oh... if Mrs. Perry doesn’t mind, then why would I?"

Amelia frowned, not understanding what it had to do with her.

The baby was Logan’s—why did Selina act like it was her decision?

Before Amelia could figure it out, Logan added, "Neither do I."

Angelica beamed. "Thank you, Logan! Thank you for accepting this... I know my presence is disruptive. I never meant to come between you two, but... love isn’t something you can control..."

Amelia took the opportunity to provoke Selena with words. "Don’t cry, Angelica. Logan’s accepted it—your child will have a father now."

She couldn’t hide her smugness.

So what if Selina was the legal wife? She was still being pushed aside.

Just like that fool Anna.

Once Angelica gave birth, that child would be Logan’s eldest son—the heir to Reid Group. Then they could slowly chip away at Logan’s power...

As for Selina? A woman raised in the countryside like Anna—maybe good enough to entertain, but a proper Mrs. Reid? Not even close.

"Selina, since you don’t mind, let’s have Angelica move into Sapphire Valley Villa soon. We’ll explain it to Chairman Morris. Once you take good care of her and she gives birth, I won’t leave you with nowhere to go."

Amelia’s tone was lofty, like she was doing Selina a favor. "Angelica is of noble status—she should be the true mistress of the Reid Family."

Angelica gave a shy, pleased smile.

Selina nodded. "I don’t have a problem with it. But..."

She feigned curiosity. "Why move Angelica to Sapphire Valley Villa? That doesn’t make sense. Isn’t the old estate better suited for her recovery?"

Angelica’s eyes welled up. "Selina... you still can’t accept me..."

"This isn’t about acceptance."

Selina’s curiosity was in overdrive. "I just think it makes more sense for Angelica to stay at the Reid estate. And if she can’t, then at least rent an apartment or something—what does it even mean to send someone into your son’s home?"

...Your son’s home?

Everyone froze. Something was seriously off about that sentence.

But before anyone could react, Selina was already back at it, her tone full of admiration:

"But Mrs. Perry, I truly admire you. Chairman Reid brings his pregnant mistress into the house, and not only do you not object—you even help raise the baby and are willing to hand over the lady of the house title."

"I’m really moved. Mrs. Perry, is this the kind of grace only a mistress-turned-wife can possess?"

Luke: "..."

Selina didn’t hold back: "Is Mrs. Perry so generous because you’re just used to it by now? A cheater always cheats—hasn’t Mrs. Perry already dealt with quite a few illegitimate children over the years?"

"But this time, since Angelica’s background is too ’respectable’ to just dispose of, you have no choice but to give up your rightful position. I’m truly shocked. If this happened to me, I couldn’t be so generous. I’d probably rip the mistress’s head off."

Her voice softened, but the blow landed sharp as ever: "Oh wait—I don’t have the chance. Logan would never cheat, so I don’t have that problem."

Her words hit everyone except Logan and Luke.

Daniel, known cheater.

Amelia, the classic homewrecker.

Angelica, the so-called ’respectable’ mistress.

"Shut up! Shut up!"

Amelia finally snapped, slamming a bowl on the table, face twisted with rage.

Selina didn’t shut up. She even threw Amelia’s own words back at her:

"Mrs. Perry, I get that you’re bitter. But what can you do? If something isn’t yours, clinging to it won’t make it so."

Amelia clutched her chest, grinding her teeth in fury.

Angelica’s eyes widened. "Selina, what are you even saying? My child has nothing to do with Chairman Reid! This child... it’s Logan’s!"

Silence fell.

Logan raised an eyebrow. "Mine?"

He took a slow sip of tea and said coolly, "Angelica, ever since news of your pregnancy, you’ve been staying here at the Reid estate. My father’s been taking excellent care of you. So how exactly did the child end up being mine?"

Luke muttered, "Yeah, Dad’s never treated us this well. Why would he be so nice to Logan’s kid? Doesn’t make sense."

Angelica burst into tears. "Logan, a month ago—you pulled me into the room, I couldn’t stop you... after that I found out I was pregnant..."

"Then have the baby and we’ll do a DNA test."

Logan remained unbothered. "If it turns out the child isn’t mine... you know what that means, Angelica."

Amelia clutched her chest, gasping in outrage. "Logan, how can you be so cold?"

Logan’s eyes flicked up, sharp and deliberate. "Well, I’m not like Chairman Reid. I don’t raise other men’s sons."

Amelia’s face went pale. "You—"

Did Logan know something?
