Chapter 202: Tyron Vs Nathan

The moment the commentator announced the start of the fight, Tyron widely opened up his arms, as if to give a bear hug.

"Flame Missile!" He suddenly shouted, casting a spell.

Fwoosh!!

A large amount of fire rapidly stirred above his head, before coming together to form a long, thin missile.

The bright red flames from the flame missile brightly illuminated the surroundings, and even Nathan from where he stood could feel the air heat up.

Boom!!

In the next second, the missile shot towards Nathan at insane speed. Its speed was further boosted by the combustion of fire going off behind it.

Nathan swiftly dashed towards the speedily approaching middle missile, rather than try to evade it.

As he neared the missile, he could feel his body heat up even more, but this only widened the smirk on his face.

He hurriedly channeled mana through his hands and his sword, before swinging his sword towards the flame missile.

With a swift and decisive slash, his sword struck the missile right at the middle, effortlessly slicing it into two halves.

The two sliced halves of the missile flew past him, before disintegrating into tiny red particles.

Without pausing, Nathan immediately pumped mana through his legs, before dashing towards Tyron.

As he closed in on him, he quickly unleashed a powerful upward slash towards Tyron’s torso.

The Elementalist’s eyes widened in shock, and he hurriedly casted another spell.

"Flame Coat!" He shouted, and almost immediately, a thick coat made of flames rapidly appeared him, draping down to his feet.

Due to his quick spell casting, Nathan’s sword made contact with the coat instead, simply sliding across it.

This caused a smug smirk to bloom on Tyron’s face, however, that smirk didn’t last for long, as the image of Nathan’s legs suddenly filled his vision.

Thwack!

He couldn’t even react, as the combat mage’s kick sweetly connected with the side of his jaw, sending tremors through his head.

"Arrgh!" The Elementalist grunted in pain, as the force behind the kick sent him flying to the side.

He almost fell down to the ground, but fortunately for him, he was able to quickly regain his balance, landing back on his feet.

’That really hurt...’ He mumbled inwardly, shaking his head rapidly in a bid to numb the wracking pain from his jaw.

However, Nathan didn’t plan on giving him any chance to relax, before charging at him once more.

’Tsk... fucker!’ Tyron cursed in his mind, as the next thing he saw was Nathan dashing at him again, with his blade pulled back for another slash.

"Fire Blast!" He shouted, flames lighting up around his fists as he swiftly thrusted them towards the combat mage.

Boom!!

Two large blasts of fire instantly bursted out from his hands, flying towards Nathan at insane speed.

Seeing the fire blasts flying at him, Nathan was forced to pause his charge. He could have cut through it if it was just one, but unfortunately, there were the blasts and he didn’t want to waste mana by countering them.

He swiftly leapt to the side, propelling himself by harnessing mana through his feet.

Boom!!

The fire blasts flew past him, before going off in a powerful explosion.

Swiftly pumping mana through his legs, Nathan dashed towards Tyron again, with his sword pulled back for another attack.

However, as he drew closer to the Elementalist, he suddenly sensed a large amount of mana, boiling up beneath his feet.

’A trap!’ Nathan thought, quickly jumping to the back.

"Volcanic Blast!" Just as he leapt backwards, Tyron abruptly shouted, with his hands stretched forward.

Fwoosh!!

Boom!!

From the ground he formerly stood, a large amount of fire powerfully blasted upwards, like a volcano.

"Damn..." Tyron cursed, his brows furrowing in frustration when he saw that the combat mage didn’t fall into his trap.

A slight smirk appeared on Nathan’s face, but he still felt a slight chill run down his spine at the thought of what would have happened if he had reacted a second slower.

’Perhaps I should take this a little more serious.’ He thought, with a wry smile.

He rapidly pumped mana all through his body, before swiftly dashing towards Tyron.

He pulled the sword in his hands backwards, preparing to unleash a swift thrust.

’I won’t just let you do as you please!’ Tyron thought, with a deep frown on his face.

"Fire Ball!" He shouted, quickly stretching his hands towards Nathan.

Fwoosh!!

Almost immediately, three large fire balls appeared in front of him, before shooting towards the combat mage at insane speeds.

’Just as I expected...’ Nathan thought, with a slight smirk on his face. He swiftly harnessed mana into his blade, causing the blade to light up with a dim yellow glow.

Swoosh!

Swinging the glowing blade in his hands, he swiftly slashed at the incoming fireballs, effortlessly cutting through each and every one of them.

The sliced fireballs flew past him, before disintegrating into tiny red particles.

Seeing his attacks get cut through so easily by Nathan, Tyron’s eyes burned with anger, and he stretched his hands forward again, in order to cast another spell.

He still had his [Flame coat] spell active, so he wasn’t too worried about Nathan’s slashes.

Although keeping up the spell was quite taxing on his mana reserves, he had no choice, unless he wanted to be cut by the combat mage.

However, Nathan didn’t plan on giving him enough time to do so, before dashing at him once more.

’So annoying!’ Tyron cursed under his breath, as he hurriedly casted the spell.

Fwoosh!!

"Fire arrows!" He shouted, and almost immediately, three arrows burning brightly with red flames materialised in front of him before shooting towards Nathan at rapid speed.

But unfortunately, Nathan easily deflected them, knocking the arrows away with his blade.

In a split second, the combat mage closed in on Tyron, unleashing a swift swing towards his chest—or at least, that’s what the Elementalist thought.

’Another slash?!’ Tyron thought, instinctively moving backwards in a bid to dodge the attack.

But to his surprise, Nathan pulled back his sword midair, ducking slightly before sending a full-powered kick towards his defenceless legs.

Thwack!!

"Arrgh!" Tyron grunted in pain, as Nathan kick hit him in the left knee with full force.

He staggered backwards, his knee throbbing in pain.

Nathan didn’t stop after that, quickly following up with another roundhouse kick which landed squarely at the side of the Elementalist’s neck.

"Arrgh!!" Tyron let out a loud groan, and his body came crashing to the ground from the force of the kick.

Due to the huge amount of pain coursing through his body, his defense spell—[Flame coat] was momentarily broken, and the thick coat of fire on him swiftly disintegrated into the air.

’I have to distance myself from him!’ He thought, as he quickly tried getting back up on his feet.

While he was still trying to balance himself on his feet and cast another spell, Nathan hurriedly channeled mana into his blade, causing it to take on a dim yellow glow.

Swinging his sword, he unleashed a swift downward slash towards Tyron, using his mana to trail across the Elementalist’s body.

"Agh!" Tyron grunted in shock, as the blade deeply cut through his body from bottom to the top.

Splash!

Blood sprayed from the wound, and the thin mana trail across his torso suddenly pushed back against his body, sending him flying by a few meters.

"Ahh..." Tyron grunted in pain, as his back crashed unto the ground, sliding for a few seconds before stopping.

His fingers instinctively traced the deep gash from the top of his torso to the bottom, and he winced sharply, feeling a painful sting when his fingers made contact with the cut.

Although it was only a cut, he could feel a huge amount of pain throb from within his soul, as Nathan’s mana wrecked serious damage within him.

’What the hell is this, I lost... and to a combat mage at that...? Embarrassing... pathetic.’ Tyron thought, gnashing his teeth in frustration.

Despite trying his best to resist the pain, he eventually lost consciousness, unable to hold it anymore.

However, not before flashing a hateful look at the one who put him in this state.

Nathan scoffed, before placing his sword back in its sheath. Even though he made a deep cut across the Elementalist’s torso, there was no blood stain on his blade.

This was due to the thin mana coating it, it acted as a sort of covering for the blade, preventing blood from staining it.

’Well, your explosive power sure is good, not just good enough to beat me. You’re not ’them’...’ Nathan thought, with a weird glint in his eyes.

Top ten Elementalists in Vane academy weren’t too difficult for him to defeat, with the only exception being Susan.

Compared to the elite students of Zenith academy, they paled greatly in comparison, except Susan of course.

There was also Harry, whose strength he didn’t even understand, but still wanted to surpass.

Since the combat mages within the academy were quite weak, the Elementalists could easily defeat them by simply overwhelming them with explosive power.

But the case was very different when it came to strong, talented combat mages like Nathan.

Such naive approach would never work, especially when they were in the same mana core stages.

[The winner of this duel, is none other than the combat mage! Nathan Lane!]

The commentator excitedly announced him as the winner, and the hall immediately erupted into cheers of excitement.

Meanwhile, Harry’s eyes gleamed with joy as he watched the combat mage strike down Tyron with his sword.

’That attack he just used, it’s somehow similar to ’energy splash’!’ Harry thought, with a slight smirk on his face.
