Chapter 182:

He quickly turned his head to the side, and the next thing that came into his sight was a large mana beast, charging at him at insane speed, with both of its tusks pointed towards him.

Harry’s eyes widened in shock, and he hurriedly tried channeling energy into his legs, in a bid to boost his speed even further and escape the mana beast’s charge.

However, the speed of the beast was just too fast! Before he could completely move the energy to his legs, the mana beast reached him within an instant.

Bam!!

A dull sound echoed in the air, as the head of the large beast slammed against Harry’s body.

"Arrgh!!" Harry groaned in pain, as he felt his back arched backwards, before the rest of his body was sent flying.

Blood rose up from his chest, before spurting out of his mouth. His torso stung with intense pain, and he could only grit his teeth in annoyance in a bid to withstand the pain.

It felt like a large truck slammed into his body, and just from that one impact, he could tell that a few of his ribs had definitely cracked.

Just before his body came crashing to the ground, he managed to maneuver himself in the air, making a swift backflip, before landing back on his feet.

His feet slid backwards by a few centimeters before stopping.

The two speed enhancement skills were still active—[Accelerate] and [Lightning Dash], and his agility was more than three times higher than it usually was, so making a swift backflip in the air was quite easy for him.

If not for this, he might have fallen head-first into the ground, and the injuries on his body would have surely worsened.

Harry’s expression twisted into a slight frown as his legs finally steadied on the ground.

A notification appeared in front of him, and immediately, the wounds on his chest started healing at rapid speed.

Its whole body was glowing with a dim yellow hue, and the tips of its tusks also seemed to have become twice pointed than before.

The brown beast bared its fangs at him aggressively, as it kept stomping its hind feet on the ground, clearly ready to make another charge.

Harry let out a low hiss, and the frown on his face deepened slightly.

’As expected... it has a rather troublesome trait.’ He thought. A cold chill ran down his spine at the sight of those deadly sharp tusks, and he couldn’t help but wonder how much worse his situation would have been if he had gotten pierced by them.

Fortunately for him, he managed to shift his body a little just before the collision, so the sharp tusks of the beast didn’t manage to pierce him.

Instead, it was the side of the mana beast’s jaws that hit him. Despite that he was only hit by the side of its jaws, it still managed to seriously injure him.

So what if he had been a second slower... then he might have even lost his life.

Roarrr!!

A loud roar suddenly sounded from the side, as the other mana beast started dashing towards Harry with its jaws wide open, aiming to take a bite from his body.

Harry didn’t even need to turn his head before he knew it was the other mana beast.

’As expected... it has already fully regenerated from its injuries.’ Harry thought, as he hurriedly redirected some of his energy into his legs.

The power of the lightning dancing around his legs immediately increased, and more blue sparks of lightning appeared all over his body.

This in turn, boosted his agility even further, and his speed rose up another level.

Harry swiftly leapt backwards, evading the large brown creature that was about to attack him.

His wounds from the last attack had already completely healed, and despite losing some points of his energy, he was now back to his peak condition.

Snap!

The jaws of the mana beast came closing on themselves instead, and a slight shock ran through the head of the beast, causing it to growl in frustration.

’And here’s another chance!’ Harry thought. The beast had stopped right in front of him, acting as a barrier between he and the other beast, meaning, this was the perfect chance for him to attack, without worrying about the other creature attacking him.

’Wind Slash!’ He quickly activated a skill as he swung his hand downwards towards the beast.

Instantly, five thin slashes formed out of the wind before shooting towards the neck of the beast at breakneck speed.

Swoosh!!

The wind slashed moved through the air at astonishing speed, each one lined up in front of the other just like the last time.

Harry’s plan was to focus on attacking the same spot on the neck, so he would be able to easily pierce through the thick brown hide of the mana beast.

Within the blink of an eye, the first slash collided against the neck of the beast, instantly opening up a deep cut.

The other four slashes of wind followed almost immediately, each one expanding the wound even more, cutting deeper and deeper into the neck of the brown beast.

Growl!!

The beast growled loudly in agony, as a huge amount of pain assaulted it from its neck.

Blood bled from the cut, coating the area around hit with a thick black-red liquid.

However, Harry didn’t plan on letting it go that easily.

’Lightning Ball!’ He shouted inwardly, while also harnessing his energy in a bid to boost the skill power.

Three medium sized lightning balls immediately appeared in front of him, each of bursting with an insane amount of lightning.

Though he didn’t channel as much energy into it as he did with the last lightning attack, the power and density of the lightning flowing within them was almost doubled.

Blitz!!

Crackle!!

The lightning balls swiftly shot towards the beast at rapid speed, leaving a small trail of lightning. The lightning projectiles were heading for the beast’s neck, at the exact area it had a deep cut.

Boom!!

A loud exploding sound echoed in the air, as the attacks landed on the open wound on the beast, each one exploding into powerful sparks of lightning.

The force behind the explosions jerked the head of the beast backwards, and its feet stumbled on the ground.

Growl!!

The unfortunate animal growled loudly in pain, as the sparks of lightning coursed directly through its wound, causing it agony.

The cut was completely fried up by the explosions, and the area around it was charred black.

’These mana beasts sure have high endurance.’ Harry thought, as he scoffed under his breath.

Despite the powerful skills he had already landed on it, it still somehow managed to stay on its feet.

The only good thing was that it still hadn’t activated its trait, or rather, Harry didn’t give it any time to.

With it standing in between him and the other mana beast, Harry wanted to make sure to finish it once and for all, without giving it any time to recover.

While he could end it by simply channeling his energy into blade barrage like he did before, he didn’t want to do that since that consumed more than half of his energy.

He still had to conserve his energy, as the fight was still far from over.

"Wind Blades!!" Harry shouted, and seven wind blades immediately appeared in front of him, before shooting towards the neck of the mana beast.

The blades flew through the air at rapid speed, closing in on the beast within a second.

The beast tried to protect its neck, by turning its head to the side, however, the attacks were just too fast, and to make things worse for it, its speed had dropped due to the pain coursing through its body.

The wind blades cut through its wound, causing the wound to gape even more as more blood spurted out from it.

Growl!

The beast whimpered in agony, and its feet stumbled forward in a bid to escape from Harry.

Roarrr!!!

Unfortunately, that attack was the last straw for it, and its large body came tumbling to the ground.

Thud!

A loud sound reverberated in the air, as the large body of the beast crashed into the ground, causing dust to rise up in the air.

A notification flashed across Harry’s eyes at that moment, and he nodded his head slightly in satisfaction.

However, he still didn’t let his guard down, knowing that there was still one more beast for him to deal with.

With the fall of the beast that acted as a wall between them, Harry now came face-to-face with the other creature.

Its eyes were bulging with thick red veins, and it kept stomping its hind feet on the ground, this time, with more force and speed.

From the look in its eyes, Harry could tell instantly... it was enraged!
