Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 283: Untitled
"Uhhh, yes, that’s me," Leon answered, confusion written all over his face. Why was this relevant here?
"Great! The old bastard must be very jealous!" The creature slapped its tentacles together in glee and mockery.
Thousands of years ago, the experiments to recreate the bloodline of the Drake had taken Blood Rock City by storm. Everyone wanted power.
However, none of them knew that this desire wasn’t born from their hearts. It was a carefully orchestrated ambition, planted through the schemes of one of Nephron’s many identities.
This content is taken from freёnovelkiss.com.
Yes, the torture and experimentation suffered by Leon’s ancestors were directly because of Nephron’s desire to recreate that bloodline.
And now? Some random kid had come out of nowhere and activated the bloodline with his failed product right before his eyes. Jealous was an understatement. Nephron must be boiling in anguish right now.
"Jealous? Why?" Leon was taken aback by the creature’s statement. Just standing beside the supreme leader, he could tell that the power of his own bloodline wasn’t any weaker than Nephron’s.
Why would he be jealous of Leon?
"Ehnnnnn, never mind that," the creature shifted its view away from Leon slowly, as if trying to avoid more questions. The conspiracies surrounding Nephron and his dealings over the past thousand years were taboo, even to those in the know.
Telling the kid at this stage would only bring him trouble.
"If he’s the Drake, then you must be the one with the Divine Body Syndrome," the creature’s goggly eyes landed on Kang.
Body syndromes weren’t rare, in fact, they were quite rampant across the three regions. A prime example would be the Element Manipulation Body Syndrome.
This syndrome limited its user to one element, making the afflicted extremely proficient with that particular element, far more so than the average person. Leon had encountered people like this before—Liana’s blood manipulation, for example.
However, the type Kang had was beyond ordinary. The Divine Body Syndrome was something rarely seen in the three regions.
The ability to control divine power at this stage? Even the Five Giants of the Finor world would drool over this ability. How Nephron got his hands on this kid was beyond him.
"Yes," Kang nodded calmly. Since this creature knew of Leon, it wasn’t surprising that it knew of him as well.
"Heh, the old man is very lucky. Anyway, where’s the girl?" After a few seconds of staring at both Leon and Kang with envious glee, the creature finally got to business.
They were here to deliver a prisoner.
"Hm," Kang nodded to Leon, signaling that it was safe to bring in Quvera.
"Badur’s Gate," Leon muttered under his breath. The room was suddenly consumed by an eerie energy that forced the creature to distort and retreat quickly.
"That…." The same thought that went through Nephron’s mind when he first saw Leon’s gate now ran through the creature’s.
Nocturnis Artifact.
’There’s no way Nephron wants anything to do with this kid.’
The creature immediately reconsidered its earlier conclusion. Negative and Fu Shu energy was a ticking time bomb that would sooner kill its user than make them stronger.
That is, if ’they’ didn’t get to him first.
—Boom.
As the creature isolated itself to one side of the room, Quvera’s body dropped to the floor. She was tied up completely in chains, her eyes and ears covered by cloth.
All this time, she had no idea she had been moved from Blood Rock City to the Undergod Monastery.
As the creature looked at Quvera, it noticed Leon staring at it with skepticism and a trace of mockery.
"Ah?" The creature realized its reaction had been inappropriate—downright embarrassing for someone of its caliber.
*Cough, cough.* Composing itself, the tentacled creature stretched out one appendage, wrapping it around Quvera’s leg. With a single jerk, it pulled her into the hole it had crawled out of.
"Hm?" The moment she disappeared, Leon frowned. He hadn’t noticed how special the hole was until now. Just by pulling Quvera in, he lost all sense of her existence.
He couldn’t sense her body or soul.
"That’s that. Now, you may leave," the creature said, shooing Leon and Kang out of the room with its tentacles, then slamming the door.
—Boom.
It clearly didn’t want them there anymore.
"That was weird," Leon smirked bitterly. The creature that had been so interested in them was now chasing them away. Odd.
They couldn’t protest, though. The two simply started walking toward the edge of the waterfall.
They had accomplished their mission at the monastery. What was next? Both were a bit blank, but deep down, they knew.
…
–Wshhhhhhh.
The sound of a waterfall rushing beneath their feet echoed as Leon and Kang stood, gazing down. A rush of cold air and a tense atmosphere filled the air.
"Are you planning to join the clan’s main army?" Kang asked calmly, breaking the awkward silence while eyeing Leon’s black kimono.
The kid had grown a lot since the first time Kang had seen him. He looked more menacing and mature, no longer like a young adult.
"No, I won’t," Leon replied confidently.
Below them, several warlock representative armies had formed, amassing a terrifying force beneath the monastery, and this force was growing by the day.
This was shaking the territory, and it was only going to get worse. Once the monastery gave the go-ahead, the warlocks would act more brazenly with the monastery’s backing.
They would sweep through the territory in a blaze of fire and blood. There was no better time to make a name for oneself, and joining the clan’s army would certainly help.
But Leon didn’t want that anymore. His goals had changed. He wanted to reap many benefits, but he had other priorities… and being part of the blood clan’s army wouldn’t help him achieve them.
"I see," Kang nodded. He really liked Leon’s five-hundred-man troop. Forget the gangs—his men were a top-tier force, one Kang had seen ravage battlefields countless times.
In terms of quality, they were on par with the blood clan’s special divisions.
"Anyway, the clan’s army should be here in four hours. I’ll just wait. You can head inside," Kang said with pride.
Leon could keep his measly five-hundred-man troop and band of thieves. The blood clan had a whopping fifty-thousand-strong army on its way.
"Ah? That’s slow. Mine is already here," Leon’s voice forced Kang to squint.
In the distance, a troop of men in high-quality armor, adorned with strange inscriptions and dragon flags, was marching toward them.
"2,500," Kang muttered under his breath.
As a quasi-transcendent being, his eyes were sharper than a hawk’s. From this distance, he could tell that the strength of this army wasn’t any weaker than Leon’s five-hundred-man troop.
In total, that made a three-thousand-man strong special force. All the special troops Kang had in his fifty-thousand-man army amounted to no more than five thousand.
How had Leon gathered such a force under his nose?
