My Celestial Ascension-Chapter 931: Under The Moonlight
"So, you’re here. I’ve been worried about you."
Suddenly, a gentle voice came from behind her, making her turn toward the familiar sound as her heart skipped a beat.
’Yuan... Why did he come after me? Shouldn’t he be with Countess Isolde?’ She thought, surprise clearly written across her face.
Under the moonlight, Yuan appeared even more handsome and charming. His presence commanded attention, and his demeanor made her feel as though she were standing before a divine being descended from the heavens.
She took a deep breath to steady her racing heart and asked, "Why did you follow me here? Do you want something from me?"
"Why else? Didn’t I already tell you that I’m worried about you?" Yuan replied with a faint smile, stepping closer until he stood beside her.
Looking up at the sky, Yuan said softly, "The moon is quite beautiful tonight, don’t you agree?"
"Indeed. The moon is very beautiful..." She nodded, her expression slightly dazed as her gaze remained fixed on the glowing moon.
After a brief moment of silence, Nerith turned to him and asked, "Yuan, can you tell me something honestly?"
"Speak your mind. I’m listening."
"So tell me... do you think a man would want a woman whose body is covered in scars, to the point that she looks unpleasant to look at—hideous, to be exact?" She asked, staring directly into his eyes with unwavering seriousness.
Yuan fell silent after hearing her question. In that instant, he understood the root of her fear. She was afraid of her scars—ashamed that he might reject her because of the marks etched across her body.
Her anxiety was understandable, and such insecurities were not uncommon. Every woman carried some hidden vulnerability within her heart.
He lifted his gaze toward the moon and said calmly, "Why wouldn’t he? Even the moon has scars. It is filled with them, and yet it remains breathtakingly beautiful. A few scars cannot diminish a woman’s beauty. Sometimes, those very scars make her even more beautiful... more captivating."
Nerith turned silent after hearing his words. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise, and a wave of relief washed over her heart when she realized that Yuan did not despise her scars.
’Indeed... the moon is covered in scars, and yet it remains beautiful... perhaps those scars are what make it even more mesmerizing...’ She thought, a faint smile slowly forming on her lips.
The moon bore countless scars—some large, some small. Every part of it was marked, yet it still shone radiantly in the night sky, enchanting all who gazed upon it.
"Yuan... do you think I’m beautiful?" She asked a moment later, a trace of nervousness lingering in her voice.
Yuan was caught off guard by her sudden question. His eyes widened slightly in surprise, as he hadn’t expected her to ask something so direct after what he had just said.
"Tell me... am I beautiful in your eyes?" She asked again, taking another small step closer to him.
Yuan steadied his breathing and stepped forward as well. Now they stood face to face, only inches apart, his gaze locked deeply with hers.
"You’re beautiful... very beautiful, in fact," Yuan answered honestly, the sincerity in his voice leaving no room for doubt.
There wasn’t even the slightest trace of deception in his eyes. He looked at her with pure admiration and unwavering certainty.
’This is it... these are the words I’ve been longing to hear...’ A radiant smile bloomed across Nerith’s face, her cheeks flushing crimson as her heart pounded wildly within her chest.
Without warning, she suddenly leaped into his arms. Her hands wrapped around his neck, her legs tightly encircling his waist as she pressed her lips firmly against his.
Yuan’s eyes widened in shock. The kiss had been sudden and completely unexpected. He hadn’t imagined that his words would drive her to act so boldly.
A small smile soon curved on his lips. Without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer, returning the kiss as he held her tightly in his embrace.
The kiss was gentle—filled with unspoken affection. It was a silent confession of the feelings they had both kept hidden, expressed without the need for a single word.
Nerith felt as though the world had slowed to a halt, as if time itself had stopped just for them. Her heart melted the moment Yuan kissed her back. It felt like he was accepting her feelings without uttering a single word—a silent acknowledgment of her love.
For Nerith, it became the most precious moment of her life. She felt overwhelming relief, and at the same time, she experienced the warmth of being held in a man’s embrace for the very first time.
She felt safe and completely at ease in his arms. Only now did she realize that it was the same comforting sensation she had felt back in the Demon Palace when she shared a bath with him. She hadn’t understood it then, but now she finally did.
Once the kiss ended, she looked into his eyes with a gentle smile on her face, and she decided to confess her feelings openly.
"I love you, Yuan... I was confused before. But now... now I see the path clearly... I’m in love with you." She said softly, pressing her forehead against his.
Touching his cheek tenderly, she continued, "Will you accept me as your woman? I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Yuan..."
"Do I even need to answer that? I thought I already made myself clear with the kiss just now." Yuan chuckled softly, teasing her.
"You do need to say it, or else I won’t be able to calm my heart. I want to hear you say it. Only then will I feel at ease." She replied with a pout, acting like a spoiled princess.
Yuan chuckled again before taking a deep breath. Looking straight into her eyes, he said sincerely, "I also want to spend the rest of my life with you, Nerith. If you don’t mind the fact that I already have many women by my side, then I will walk the rest of my life with you."
"In that case, let’s kiss one more time. I want to kiss you again so I can be sure this isn’t a dream..." She said, cupping his face with both hands as she leaned in closer.
"This isn’t a dream, Nerith. It’s truly happening." Yuan replied before sealing her lips with his once more, and the two shared another deep kiss.
The kiss lasted for nearly ten minutes before they finally parted, both gasping for air after holding each other so intensely for so long.
"That was intense... for a moment, I felt like I was suffocating," Nerith said between breaths, a bright and joyful smile spreading across her face.
"Let’s stay here for a while and look at the moon... I want to spend a little more time with you." Yuan said as he sat down on the grass, watching the happiness reflected in her expression.
Nerith nodded with a soft smile and sat beside him, their shoulders brushing lightly against each other.
They spent the next few moments gazing up at the moon, stealing gentle kisses from time to time. The moon stood silently above them, bearing witness to their confession and the love they had finally spoken aloud.

Since Nerith’s business in the Vampire Kingdom had concluded, it was now time for them to head toward the Succubus Kingdom—a nation known for pleasure and desire.
The succubi were creatures of lust and temptation. They grew stronger by consuming the essence of others through intimate contact.
"So, how far is the Succubus Kingdom from here?" Leah asked Nerith with curiosity in her eyes. She had heard countless legends about succubi, but she had never seen one herself.
"By carriage, it would take us several days to arrive," Nerith replied. "However, since we’ll be flying, it should only take about an hour or so."
"I see... so it’s not that far." Leah said with a smile before summoning her flying sword and soaring gracefully into the sky.
"In that case, let’s hurry. We’ve already wasted enough time." Isolde said with a serious expression, aware that the looming danger above them would not wait for anyone.
The others followed suit. Yuan carried Nerith with him on his flying sword, while Mireya carried Isolde, and together they ascended into the vast sky.
