"Hmm, it was you, wasn’t it?"

The supreme leader stared at Leon, surrounded by his direct disciples, who crowded around Leon.

"I don’t know what you mean," Leon frowned deeply, annoyance coloring his tone. He had never verbally admitted to being a Sorcerer. The supreme leader just knew, but discussing it in front of so many people was uncalled for.

"Haha, there’s no need to hide it. You’re among friends," the supreme leader egged Leon on. Unfortunately, he was met with silence once again.

"Good, you’re not dumb." After a few seconds, he smiled. He wasn’t expecting Leon to reveal what he was, or at least he wasn’t expecting him to admit it in front of anyone here. The point was to pass the message across to his direct disciples.

They were the people he trusted the most and would be crucial in keeping Leon’s identity a secret... especially with someone like Quvira out to get him.

"Wait a minute, how did you get away from Quvira?" A voice sounded in front of the supreme leader.

It was Kang.

The story was that Quvira was making her way up Griffin Peak when she spotted a sorcerer and immediately gave chase. In as much as he disliked that bitch Quvira, he had to admit that she was incredibly effective and efficient.

At such close range? There was no way in hell that Leon could have escaped from her. He was, after all, a mere level 3 existence.

"Hmm," Leon’s face didn’t change in the slightest as he turned to Kang. There was nothing about this conversation that was comfortable for him. He could only keep quiet and observe.

"Never mind that, little Kang. I have a responsibility for you," the supreme leader redirected the conversation.

He also wanted to know the truth. Quvira was someone even Kang would have trouble escaping from... In a fight? Kang could definitely dominate her, but Quvira’s hunting skills were superb.

"Oh?" Kang turned to the supreme leader questioningly. Ever since he got back from his journey, the supreme leader hadn’t given him any responsibility or assignment. Why now?

"You, the boy, and Rengoku should head into Griffin City and go straight to the grounds of the tower. I need you to deliver a message," the supreme leader instructed Kang.

Quvira had made the mistake of coming here to accuse him of a great betrayal. Where others would be angry, the supreme leader saw an opportunity... one that he couldn’t help but feel excited about.

"Ohhh, okay," Kang nodded in understanding. It looked like this master of his was back to his shenanigans. This trip might be more fun than he had previously thought.

After a few hours of preparations, Leon, Kang, and Rengoku set out from the Bloodrock House to the city on foot.

At the same time, a young man with brown hair watched them from the top of the Bloodrock House.

These three walking together was like a ticking bomb set to self-destruct. The reason the supreme leader chose them specifically was not something he understood. The old monster was planning something again.

"Whatever... it’s not even important." Panning his head to a tower rising high in the middle of Griffin Peak, the young man with brown hair couldn’t help but smile with greed.

"I had no idea it had moved so far away... this is good," the young man smiled.

He could sense it, which meant someone was trying to summon them. This trip would be more useful than he had thought.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Uhhh, why is he moving so slow?" Along the unpaved landscape of Griffin Peak, Leon’s voice sounded as they made their way through a thick patch of vegetation.

"The world revolves around him; we are the ones moving too fast," Rengoku said sarcastically, glancing sideways at Kang.

"Oh really?" Leon smiled bitterly. There seemed to be a little beef between Kang and Rengoku that spanned the last ten years.

He didn’t know exactly what it was, but from what he could see, it seemed like Rengoku looked down on Kang. This was quite strange given that Kang was widely recognized as the strongest of Nephron’s direct disciples.

"Keep your words to yourself, Rengoku... I won’t warn you again." Even though he was at least 100 meters behind them, Kang was not only able to hear what they were saying, but he was also able to reply as if he were right beside them.

"Hehehe, we’re out in the wild; do something about it," Rengoku said calmly, with no hesitation. He spoke as if he knew that Kang wouldn’t dare attack him, and rightfully so....

Kang’s character was arrogant, despicable, and generally unlikeable. As such, he had a lot of enemies that included, and were not limited to, existences of his level or even higher.

His slow pace in walking was a precautionary measure to make sure he wasn’t caught off guard while moving. He wasn’t really the type to run unless the odds were completely against him. But even in that instance... especially in a place like Griffin Peak, he wouldn’t try to.

This place had tied a knot in his heart that he needed to loosen, and he wouldn’t be able to do that by running from fights.

"You’re annoying," Kang spoke while still maintaining absolute awareness of his surroundings. To be honest, he wasn’t that scared of being ambushed, as he had far surpassed what he was the last time he was here.

But there was one particular person he couldn’t afford to let get the drop on him.

"We accept all forms of currency over here."

After about three hours of walking through the dense vegetation, Leon and the other two arrived in front of a bustling city with high-rising buildings.

Leon had never felt more like an ant than he did right now. This was a city filled with people who had the innate ability to fly. Their buildings were bound to be tall.

"That’s 200 phase 2 blood gems." Rengoku paid the man at the gate, and then a metal elevator was slowly lowered.

Griffin City had no gate one could walk through, and as they couldn’t fly up here, they had to use an elevator.

At least two of them did.

From behind, Kang blasted up forcefully and went to the top of the wall while Leon and Rengoku were ferried.
