Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 252: Golden Tower
"We’re not sticking around for too long. We’ll deliver the message and leave as soon as possible... so don’t cause trouble," Kang spoke sharply, his eyes constantly scanning their surroundings as they walked.
The streets of Griffin City were sparse, with only a few people walking down them. Most of the city’s inhabitants could fly, so the streets weren’t of much use, leaving them primarily to outsiders.
This didn’t make things any safer, however. Walking in Griffin City was a dead giveaway that you weren’t from around there.
"Hmm," Leon nodded firmly. He didn’t want to be there any more than Kang did. There was still a lot he needed to do, but the supreme leader’s mission had to come first.
They began their walk toward the center of the city, where a tall tower stood unambiguously. In a city of tall buildings, this tower made them all pale in comparison. It was an extremely tall tower.
There was a saying in the Sacred Land—*The pinnacle of strength exists at the pinnacle of the world, and that place is where the Griffin lays its head.*
It was daunting, the tallest structure in the Sacred Lands: "The Golden Tower."
This was their destination.
"What’s this?" A guard in golden armor inscribed with wing-like designs spoke at the front of a golden gate.
The Golden Winged Guard of the Peak. These were the most elite guards up here, responsible for the safety of the Golden Tower. Not that anyone would dare attack the Peak.

"A letter for Elder Black Wing," Kang said firmly, with utmost confidence and pride.
"Hmmm!!" The guard saw Kang’s demeanor and frowned with displeasure. He didn’t like the look on his face one bit.
They were the elite guard of the Golden Griffin Tower. What did Kang have that made him feel above them?
"Hurry up, we don’t have all day," Kang said casually before walking back to where Rengoku and Leon stood.
This guard was naturally new and knew nothing of what happened here ten years ago. However arrogant he was, Kang had the power to back his words.
"Hmp!!" The guard sneered, ready to shred the letter... However, when he flipped it and saw the seal of the Bloodserpent Clan’s supreme leader, he paused.
They had already received their fair share of warnings when it came to the leaders of the Myriad Clans... It was best to let it go.
"Open the gates!" the guard bellowed, allowing them in. Another guard then led them directly into the tower.
"That’s the place," after a few minutes of climbing, the guard leading them pointed to a dark, gloomy corridor.
"Hm!!" Kang nodded at the sight before handing the letter to Leon and nudging him toward the door. Leon was confused for a second and turned to Rengoku to understand the situation.
But Rengoku only nodded, offering no explanation whatsoever. Without much choice, Leon walked forward into the gloomy pathway, one hand holding the letter and the other on a dark grimoire at his waist.
He was fairly confident of leaving here alive if there was any sense of foul play. Not long after, he reached the door and grabbed the knocker.
—Knock
—Knock
The metal body hit the wooden door twice as Leon pulled on it. Two knocks were courteous enough; a third would denote urgency, and Leon wasn’t in a rush to see what was behind that door.
—Skrrrrrr
From where the doorknob was supposed to be, a sound resonated as an eye devoid of pupils appeared in the corner of Leon’s view.
"What do you want?" a hurried, annoyed voice asked from behind the door.
"The supreme leader of the Bloodserpent Clan, Master Nephron, sent us to deliver a letter to Elder Black Wing," Leon spoke calmly, though with some confusion. He didn’t really know what this was all about, but here he was, at the front of it all.
"Oh? A letter? Why doesn’t the old fool also send me a cure for blindness?!" the man behind the door snapped.
That old bastard Nephron kept sending him letters, knowing full well that he was blind and couldn’t read them. It was absolutely annoying.
"Give it to me!" But instead of slamming the door shut, the man stretched his hand through the gap and motioned for Leon to hand over the letter.
And Leon did just that.
"Sigh, really? So he finally agreed to that screwed-up arrangement between us?" the man could be heard visibly sighing behind the door.
"You’re Alduwin, I take it?" Still behind the door, the old man asked.
"Yes," Leon replied.
"I see... give me a minute," the man said before going silent for several minutes.
After which—
"Here, have this..." His hand reached out from the opening on the side of the door. "You can use this a maximum of three times. If you need any more, you may come back in three days’ time... Not that you’ll be here for long, but for whatever it’s worth."
In his hand was a sealed scroll.
"I wish you good luck, kid. You’ll need it. And as for that old bastard, tell him I don’t have time to participate in his schemes," the man said before shutting the door, his presence disappearing completely without a trace.
Leon didn’t know this, but the old man was one of the High Elders of the Golden Griffin Clan, an existence rumored to be on the same level as Supreme Leader Nephron.
"Let’s go." After delivering the letter, Kang, Rengoku, and Leon immediately left the Golden Tower and rushed out of Griffin City as if trying to escape a ticking time bomb.
"Losers," at the very top of the tower, a familiar young man watched as Kang escaped, mockery in his eyes... There was nothing he wanted more than to toy with Kang to death. But he had other responsibilities right now.
Kang and his little buddies would have to wait for him to toy with them to death.
