Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 250: Quvira The Relentless
That night, another individual of Divine Kang’s caliber climbed Griffin Peak, and she was beyond pissed. So much so that she went directly toward the Golden Griffin clan’s tower.
A sorcerer had infiltrated Griffin Peak and escaped without a trace, raising the question of whether the old monsters at the helm of the clan were working with a sorcerer.
Of course, this was all formality; she couldn’t really control those old monsters. But the Underwood Alliance could put pressure on the masses to frustrate them.
So, it was treated as a big case to be investigated by the representative of the Underwood Alliance, otherwise known as Quvira the Relentless.
Meanwhile, the next morning, Leon climbed to the top of Griffin Peak, completely oblivious to the consequences of the previous night’s encounter.
That was until...
"Hm?" He stepped into the Bloodrock House through the main door and was met with a peculiar sight.
The supreme leader was seated on his ceremonial chair in the middle of the courtyard, with Kang, Rengoku, Zeke, and the other direct disciples standing behind him.
"So, what brings you here specifically?" Nephron, the supreme leader, spoke calmly to the person in front.
They weren’t the only ones here. There was also a young lady with pitch-black hair and several men from the Golden Griffin clan standing in front of them.
Because of last night’s encounter, Quvira had requested the old monsters of the Golden Griffin clan to give her leeway to investigate whoever had a hand in harboring the sorcerer up until yesterday.
Someone had to pay, and for some reason, she had decided to come to the Bloodserpent clan first.
"The incident yesterday was a massive surprise.... I just wanted to be sure." Quvira paused and looked around for a moment. "Say, Malphas Greyback wouldn’t happen to be around here, would he?"
Quvira asked with a coldness in her eye. Not a lot of people knew of Malphas’ status as a sorcerer, but the Underwood Alliance did. However, his backing was just too strong, coupled with his own strength. It was best to leave that one alone.
"What are you insinuating?" The supreme leader asked with a cold expression on his face. Was this little girl crazy? Did she think that because the old fools from the Golden Griffin clan had given her the green light to "investigate" that she was now a god?
"It wouldn’t be the first time you have harbored a known criminal," she commented coolly, but her words were laced with poison. She was accusing the supreme leader of harboring the sorcerer.
"Impudent!!!" As those words left her mouth, the atmosphere of the room flipped as, within a split second, Rengoku and Kang disappeared and reappeared in front of Quvira, weapons drawn.
Their movement was incredibly fast, giving her no room to maneuver. Before she knew it, a katana was at her neck and a massive fist at the back of her head.
"You...." she stuttered. This was extremely close, and if they wanted to kill her, she would be dead in a matter of seconds.
"You better watch the way you speak in front of our master.... I don’t care for the Golden Griffin’s shit. I’ll kill you," Kang threatened, bringing her attention to something.
The men from the Golden Griffin clan who had been assigned to her for this investigation had taken several steps back in fear.
Forget that monster Kang; they were more afraid of the man seated in front of them. Nephron wasn’t a pushover... In the entire sacred land, he was a massive political figure able to muster the kind of strength to force anyone back.
Ruthless, cunning, and most of all powerful. They couldn’t understand what was going through Quvira’s head. Why would she antagonize these people like this?
"Enough." The supreme leader raised his hand, signaling for Kang and Rengoku to stand down. He then turned to Quvira and shook his head. "You do realize that I am also a member of the Underwood Alliance, right? A high-ranking member at that...."
"In fact, if my memory serves me correct, I outrank you too, yes?" The supreme leader spoke with a serious tone of voice.
"Yes." Quvira paused for a second to rub her neck before replying to the supreme leader.
She was well aware of how the supreme leader wormed his way into the Underwood Alliance. This was his thing; he had some sort of affiliation with everyone. It was a dishonest way to live, and she hated it.
He was a massive hypocrite.
"Then you should at least have the courtesy of referring to me as an elder."
"I... I am sorry, Elder," she gritted her teeth before saying. She had previously thought that the Golden Griffin clan’s men would protect her, which was why she behaved like that a moment ago.
Now she was backed into a corner, so she could only bow her head for now.
"Good, now I will give you some advice. You saw a sorcerer leave the mountain yesterday, yes? Key word: leave? Now tell me, after seeing you, do you really believe he’ll be back? And without him present, do you think anyone will testify to being involved? Use your head, kid; I am but a guest here, and so are you."
The supreme leader wasn’t completely blunt, but with a little scrutiny, one could understand his words. He was hinting at the Golden Griffin clan’s involvement with a sorcerer, which was not so far from the truth.
Of course, this wasn’t the same person, as the one she was looking for was right behind him.
"Hmmm." Quvira calmly nodded before bowing to the supreme leader. "Thank you for the guidance, Senior," she said before directly turning around to leave with the men from the Golden Griffin clan.
As she passed through the door, she glanced at Leon for a second, then turned back to go on her way.
The person she was looking for was right before her, but she couldn’t even place her finger on him.
"Alduwin, come over here." As she left, the supreme leader called for Leon to come to him.
"Ahhh, yes." Leon nodded and went over. "Good morning, Master," Leon said with a bow.
It was the first time he had ever called anyone Master in the truest sense. It was extremely strange.
