Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 249: Plummeting.
night time
Griffin Peak’s terrain was a rocky mixture of sand and leaves, with paths that seemed nonexistent. At least, that was what the outer region looked like.
—Doom
A shirtless male figure jumped down from a formation of rocks to the ground below before proceeding to walk forward slowly. Unless one was from a warlock clan with the innate ability to fly, they would have to depend solely on their physical strength to move around on Griffin Peak.

This was especially tasking because of the incredibly tough terrain.
The Griffin clan could fly, so they didn’t bother creating roads or pathways for easy movement. It was a massive inconvenience for anyone who made their way here.
"Hmm," as the figure walked forward, the clear skies soon became visible to him. He had reached the edge of the mountain.
"Maximum effort," the young man cracked his neck as if to relieve stiffness... below him was a long way down. The mountain had crossed the clouds themselves.
But the young man didn’t seem to care. Right there and then, he leaned forward and began to fall.
Anyone seeing this scene, be it the likes of Divine Kang or even the supreme leaders of the myriad clans, would immediately tag it as suicide.
Griffin Peak was equipped with an ancient magic formation that stopped anyone from flying; it, however, had no mechanism to stop falling. In fact, its formation worked to boost falling.
The longer one fell, the faster they plummeted.
—Voom!!
—Voom!!!
As the young man fell, he felt gravity act on every muscle, forcing them to tense up and the pressure in his blood to increase in order to resist. Every cell in his body went wild.
But, strangely, he didn’t seem the least bit bothered, as slowly a pair of angelic wings began to materialize behind him and an ethereal apparition appeared to hug his lower abdomen.
The mountain could stop flight for everyone below level 5. It was a good thing Leon had the spirit of Carnage to back him.
As he plummeted, it slowly reduced the speed at which he fell. It couldn’t completely halt it for fear of drawing the attention of the level 5 existences on Griffin Peak. He didn’t want to draw unnecessary troubles...
However, these troubles seemed to always locate him, because this very night, as he did his routine fall, another individual was climbing Griffin Peak.
She had not been able to make it there on time because of prior arrangements that had in fact fallen through, so she was insanely frustrated.
Who would have thought that on her way to the gathering on Griffin Peak, she would meet something that would further infuriate her.
A sorcerer!!!
The moment she felt the energy coming towards her, she became tense and peered into the darkness with utmost focus.
—Voom!!
The figure of a young shirtless man zoomed past her at a speed that would stun the common man.
She wasn’t common, though, because as soon as Leon’s figure flashed past her, she let go of the mountain and immediately gave chase.
There was no one in the Underwood Alliance that hated warlocks as much as she did. The smell of that disgusting aura irritated her to her very core, and she would hunt them whenever, wherever.
—Voom
She followed Leon with no regard for her own well-being.
"Hm? What the?"
After about 30 more seconds of falling, Leon felt a reverberation in the air, causing him to flip in the air and face the direction from which it was coming.
Behind him, a lady with pitch-black hair and a look of hate painted in her eyes could be seen rushing towards him crazily. Leon’s mind immediately kicked into overdrive as he tried to make sense of this situation.
"Shit!!"
As soon as he put two and two together, Leon couldn’t help but curse before turning around in distress.
He only started noticing this lady a few seconds ago, meaning that she had just started following him, so she had probably been climbing. But for her to let go just to follow him with no precautions also meant something else: she had noticed something that set her off enough to want to risk her life to kill him.
There was only one thing he could think of...
The worst had happened: he was being chased by a member of the Underwood Alliance.
"Release," Leon called out, making the wings behind him disappear...
This simple move allowed Leon to pick up speed. Without the wings keeping him up, he fell like an asteroid.
This was naturally noticed by the lady giving chase, prompting her to increase her speed.
From those on the mountain, they looked like shooting stars descending from the heavens, and what followed was a massive impact that saw the sand around rise and a crater form.
"Where??" As they landed on the ground, the lady scanned the environment hurriedly. In their training, they were taught to always keep their eyes trained on their targets, as some sorcerers’ ancient spells had the ability to change their auras or even faces.
But last minute, before they impacted the ground, this sorcerer seemed to have disappeared. She had to find him immediately before he slipped away.
Unfortunately for her, after more than 5 minutes of looking, there were no signs of Leon. He had disappeared entirely. Even his aura had disappeared.
"Fuck!!!" She cursed in frustration before wiping blood from the corner of her nose and mouth. The impact of that fall was massive; she could already feel the internal bleeding.
This was why she hated sorcerers—they were so sly and cunning.
Turning back to the mountain, she blasted into the sky as if trying to fly. She was not so different from Kang and those geniuses from 10 years ago... she could definitely resist the mountain formation. Though not for too long.
A while later, after she left...
A hand reached out from an iron gate oozing with negative energy. Leon’s figure emerged from within and looked up with a serious expression.
He had almost been caught just now.
