Chapter 345: Hail The Devil!

Chapter 345

BOOM!

A deafening shockwave burst outward as the ground fractured violently, long fissures tearing through the arena floor like claws of chaos.

Dust spiraled into the air, and at the heart of the destruction stood a red-haired figure, blood dripping down the side of his face, his expression painted with a cocky smirk.

"So much for a boss beast," Grey sneered, lightning crackling faintly beneath his skin. "You couldn’t even finish the job. And thanks for that cheap shot, I’ve figured out your weakness."

The ogre’s eyes widened as it glanced skyward—above it, a swirling cyclone raged like a storm god’s wrath, spinning with uncontrollable violence.

"What the hell?!" the ogre muttered in disbelief, but before it could react, Grey hurled the cyclone forward with a thunderous crack.

The monster drew its colossal sword, attempting to bat the spinning tempest away. The moment steel met storm, the cyclone overpowered it, blasting the beast backward like a ragdoll.

The ogre crashed and tumbled across the arena, leaving deep scars on the shattered ground as blood trickled from its mouth.

"Grey! You’re... you’re up?!" Noir exclaimed, his glowing red eyes scanning Grey from head to toe. "I thought you’d be out for hours!"

Grey scoffed, brushing dust from his shoulder as he locked eyes on the ogre, who was already beginning to rise. In its trembling hand, the massive sword still gleamed ominously.

’I guess I was right, huh... This is going to be tricky,’ Grey thought, his jaw tightening.

"You came back stronger, I’ll give you that," the ogre snarled, eyes narrowing, "But unfortunately, I’m still standing."

It shifted its weapon, now brandishing a wickedly long spear that glistened with battle-worn energy. It pointed it at the duo with deadly intent.

"You’ve still got juice?" Grey asked, not even sparing a glance at Noir.

"Two minutes. That’s all I’ve got left," Noir replied, his body shimmering with faint crimson light, his horn glowing brighter than ever.

"Then let’s make them count." Grey’s body surged with lightning, his feet sparking violently as he launched himself forward.

The ogre responded instantly, thrusting the spear at blinding speed. Grey sidestepped with dancer-like grace and retaliated with a fireball from his palm. The ogre, with surprising reflexes, drew its sword with its other hand and smashed the fireball away.

BZZZZT!

Two laser beams sliced toward the ogre from behind—Noir’s doing. But the beast didn’t even flinch. With a brutal backhanded swing of its blade, it deflected the beams effortlessly.

But then—WHAM!

Grey flew in from above, swinging his leg down toward the ogre’s face. As the hammer was raised to meet the strike, stone encased Grey’s foot—an impromptu earth-reinforced kick. The impact resounded across the arena like thunder.

Taking advantage of the moment, Noir surged forward and slammed into the ogre’s gut with his full body weight, pushing it back several meters.

"Lightning Magic: Lightning Bullet!" Grey extended two fingers like a gun. With a sharp crack, a compressed bolt of lightning blasted forth like a high-caliber shot.

The ogre’s sword met it midair, but the impact created a gaping hole in the arena floor beneath it.

"Is that—?!" the ogre started, only to be cut off as a pillar of jagged earth slammed into its chest, launching it through the air. Blood sprayed like a red mist.

"Noir!" Grey barked.

"On it!" the familiar roared. He summoned two scorching fireballs and hurled them at the dazed ogre. The beast barely managed to bring up its sword to block when—

BZZZZT!

Two concentrated laser beams followed behind, slicing faster than the ogre could react. The first beam tore through its arm, the one gripping the sword.

The second scorched its shoulder. With a guttural scream, the ogre’s severed arm hit the ground, its massive sword clanging beside it.

"ARGHHH!!" The monster wailed, crimson spraying from the stump like a geyser.

"You see..." Grey extended his arm, wind swirling violently around his wrist, "You’re not as invincible as you think."

He tried pulling the discarded sword toward him with wind magic, but the weapon didn’t budge.

’Just as I thought.’

Furious, the ogre gripped its hammer with its remaining hand and charged—not at Grey, but at the weakened Noir.

"I’ll kill you!" it bellowed, eyes blazing with bloodlust.

The hammer soared toward Noir, who was barely standing—but before it could land, the sound of the sky cracking split the air.

ZAP!

Fifty lightning arrows rained down, slamming into the hammer with a storm of electric force. Sparks exploded in all directions, and the impact caused the ogre to stumble backward, balance lost.

"My time’s up..." Noir whispered as his body shimmered faintly and then vanished into mist, returning to Grey’s palm with a wisp of soft smoke.

"Now, it’s just you and me."

He dashed forward, a loud sonic boom ringing out. The ogre spotted its sword lying nearby and lunged for it.

But the moment it moved—

Whish!

Fifty wind swords rained from the sky, forcing the beast to dodge and weave frantically. It shattered many with its hammer, but more came. And then—

Boom!

Grey was there, right before the sword.

He hurled a lightning bolt at point-blank range. The ogre raised its hammer instinctively, but the blast sent it flying. The weapon cracked down the middle.

As the beast struggled to rise, it looked around—Grey was gone.

"You made one massive mistake," Grey’s voice echoed from above.

The ogre looked up.

Grey hovered in the air, eyes glowing pure white, hair flowing wildly. Around him, twenty razor-sharp wind blades spiraled.

"Wind Magic: Sky Cutter."

The slashes howled through the air, slamming into the ogre with devastating force. It blocked with its hammer—

Crack!

SHATTER!

The hammer splintered into shards.

The ogre stumbled, blood pouring from its mouth, just as another explosion rocked the opposite side of the arena—Kael’s final blast. Half the arena was gone.

But here, in this half, only two figures remained.

The ogre looked up—and froze.

Six tornadoes—lightning and wind swirling violently—descended.

"No! I won’t lose this way!" the ogre shouted, grasping its spear.

Grey snapped his fingers.

The tornadoes howled downward, ripping apart the battlefield. The ogre tried to dodge, but one tornado struck true. The spear shattered, the beast hurled across the arena, a long gash now bleeding down its chest.

Panting, the ogre struggled to rise. Heavy footsteps echoed.

Grey approached, calm and deadly.

"H-How... how did I lose...?" the ogre croaked.

"You lost because you went up against me. Did you even honestly think you were going to win with that?!" Grey asked as he pointed behind him at the sword that gleamed slightly.

"When you knocked me away earlier, I didn’t fall unconscious. I pretended to and I observed you closely. Watched how you fought against Noir and I analyzed you properly and then noticed that, that sword helps you either deflect or absorb any magical attack.

Each of these weapons had special uses, right? The spear allows you move faster and that’s why it’s always on your back. The hammer enhances your strength, the sword deflects any magical attack." Grey said as something began forming in the air.

Fire spears formed in the air—wreathed in crackling lightning, swirling with deathly intent.

"If it was anybody else, if you had faced anybody else, you would have won. But your biggest mistake ever was facing me. And right now, I would love to know how you got these weapons.

There’s no way a beast like you would have the intelligent to make such advanced weapons. So who made it for you?" Grey asked with a furrowed brow.

’I didn’t notice it before, but now that I think of it, these weapons had different effects. Randin had made a pair of boot that enhanced my speed like this spear. So where did this ogre get its weapons from?

Was it a dwarf that created it? But according to my current knowledge, only Randin is left of his race so how? Why would any dwarf help beasts? Just what is this portal break of a thing?’

The ogre spat blood. "You’ll get nothing from me. Kill me if you must."

"Are you sure about that?"

The spears hovered, then edged forward.

"What? Scared? Do it!" the ogre roared.

Grey exhaled slowly. "As you wish."

He snapped his fingers.

The fiery spears lunged forward—

"Hail the devil..." the ogre muttered just before the attack landed.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion. Fire engulfed the beast.

When the dust cleared, nothing remained but a charred corpse.

Grey stood still, eyes wide.

"Wait... what did you just say? ’Hail the devil’?!"

The words echoed through his mind, chilling him deeper than any battle wound.
