Chapter 344: Utter Annihilation: Kael’s Full lightning powers!

Chapter 344

"Thanks," Kael muttered through the crackling symphony of thunder, his voice nearly drowned out by the violent rumblings of the storm he had summoned.

Like a bolt himself, he shot forward, a blur of lightning trailing in his wake as he targeted the distracted beast.

The colossal wolf was locked in a dance of chaos, darting through the rain of lightning arrows that plummeted from the heavens.

Its horns flared with charged energy as it fired off laser beams, destroying some arrows midair while sidestepping others with uncanny agility. Only three arrows remained.

It weaved past one, obliterated another with a sharp burst of laser—but just as the final arrow screamed toward it, Kael appeared.

He snatched it from the air, his fingers crackling with energy. In a single, fluid motion, he supercharged the arrow with a surge of lightning, then hurled it like a divine spear.

BOOM!

The arrow struck the beast dead-on, embedding itself in its fur and unleashing a wild surge of electricity. The explosion flung the beast across the battlefield as bolts danced violently within its body, illuminating the arena in a burst of blue-white light.

Not missing a beat, Dante sprang into action. With both hands raised, he summoned a flurry of earth-based spells—massive boulders, jagged spears, and sharpened arrows erupted from the sky, hurtling toward the reeling beast.

But the wolf wasn’t finished.

It tilted its head, and from the glowing horns, it unleashed an unrelenting stream of laser beams, annihilating the spears and arrows with precision.

As for the boulders, the beast leapt onto one midair, then another—its powerful limbs propelling it from stone to stone—shattering them upon contact with raw force.

"What are you doing?! Hurry up already!" Dante snapped, frustration creeping into his voice as he glanced at Max, who stood still, hand raised and eyes narrowed.

"Don’t freaking rush me!" Max barked, and with a flash, a bolt of pure lightning burst from his palm.

The wolf’s eyes flicked toward the incoming strike. Without hesitation, it launched from its last platform, flipping gracefully midair as the bolt collided with the boulders behind it, vaporizing them in a flash of light and stone shards.

"You all are useless," Kael muttered darkly, raising his fist and slamming it into the air beside him. A shadow portal immediately materialized beside him—and then another, directly above the descending beast.

With no hesitation, Kael directed five hundred lightning arrows into the portal beside him, sending them hurtling out of the one above the wolf like a divine rain of wrath.

A low, feral growl rumbled from the beast’s throat. Its horns glowed brighter than ever, golden and radiant like twin suns. Then—

BOOOOOM!

A titanic yellow beam burst from its horns, not in precision but in overwhelming force. It engulfed the sky, obliterating every lightning arrow in a single, thunderous flash that shattered the air itself. A shockwave blasted outward, kicking up dirt and debris as the thunderclap echoed across the battlefield.

"Damn it! How the hell do we kill this damned beast?!" Dave shouted from the sidelines, his fists clenched in helpless fury.

"We?" Kael echoed without turning, his voice sharp. He shared the frustration—his eyes focused, his breathing tense.

’My mana’s draining fast. I’ve only got twenty percent left... I need the beast to stay still, even for a second. If I can’t pin it down, I won’t have enough to finish this.’

Suddenly, a voice rang out like a match struck in darkness.

"Let us help!" Scarlet’s voice cut through the chaos. She strode forward, embers flickering around her like fireflies.

"Help?" Kael raised a brow, his eyes scanning her up and down. "What could you possibly do against that?"

"I know that look," Greg interjected as he walked up, arcs of lightning dancing around his hands. "It’s the same one Grey gets before pulling something wild and stupid—but it always works. You’ve got something up your sleeve, don’t you?"

Kael opened his mouth to respond, but Scarlet beat him to it.

"We don’t have time for talk. While you three were going all out, we recovered some mana. So just prepare whatever crazy plan you’re cooking—we’ll buy you time."

Kael hesitated for only a second, then gave a slow nod. "Fine... go crazy."

"Oh, we plan to," Greg said with a smirk, his gaze locking onto the beast that had dominated the field for far too long.

BOOM!

The ground trembled as they launched themselves forward—determined to shift the tide.

The beast hurtled toward the two new arrivals with terrifying speed, its claws tearing at the ground with each stride. But neither of them flinched. Scarlet thrust her arm forward, the flames around her palm flaring brighter, raging like a phoenix awakened.

Buzz!

Twin laser beams surged toward her—deadly, precise.

But before they could strike, a towering wall of reinforced metal erupted from the earth with a thunderous clang, intercepting the beams in a brilliant spray of sparks.

The moment it crashed into place, another sharp bang echoed across the battlefield.

Greg had already launched himself into action.

"This is for attacking us!" he shouted with fury burning in his voice. As he spun mid-air, his foot whipped around and unleashed a crescent-shaped lightning blade from his heel, sizzling through the air like a guillotine of thunder.

The wolf snarled and leapt back, narrowly avoiding the slash, then retaliated with a beam of searing energy that blasted the lightning arc straight into the earth.

Woosh!

Fifty razor-sharp wind blades tore through the air toward the beast. The wolf’s body blurred into motion—flashes of silver streaking left and right—as it weaved and dashed between the blades with uncanny agility. Each missed strike gouged craters into the ground, uprooting chunks of earth and smoke.

"We need to restrain it—now! Kael’s cooking something up, and he needs time!" Charlotte shouted.

With a surge of power, she hurled her hands forward. From her palms burst twin jets of pressurized water that slammed into the beast with brutal force, knocking it back a few feet and soaking its fur.

Without hesitation, Dante appeared in front of the staggering beast. The earth curled up around his fists like armor, and with a deafening roar, he drove both hands forward, landing a double blow that echoed like thunder.

The impact sent the wolf soaring through the air, skidding across the battlefield and carving deep trenches in its wake.

"Metal Magic: Spiral Lance!" Dave’s voice rang out, hoarse with fatigue but fierce in resolve. Using the last embers of his mana, he conjured a massive, spiraling lance of metal—spinning so violently it howled like a vortex. He hurled it with all his might.

The beast, eyes gleaming, twisted its body midair and barely escaped. The lance thundered into the ground, gouging a massive hole and tearing straight through the wall behind it.

"Crap! How do we pin down a damn wolf that moves like a phantom?!" Greg shouted, frustration lacing his tone.

Undeterred, he charged in again with a fresh lightning blade in hand. He swung with ferocity, but the wolf blurred past him—and in an instant, its claws raked across his back.

"ARGHHH!" Greg’s scream echoed through the arena as he was sent flying, deep crimson blood trailing behind him.

"Fire Magic: Inferno!" Scarlet roared in fury. A torrent of roaring flames surged from her hands, engulfing the wolf in a fiery maelstrom that blackened the battlefield and cloaked the sky in thick smoke.

Everyone paused, breath held.

But then—

Zip!

The beast exploded from the smoke, untouched, eyes burning with hate. In a blink, it closed the distance to Scarlet.

"Damn it!" she cursed, caught off guard.

Twin beams of energy flared from its horns—point-blank and unavoidable.

"Scarlet!" Arthur’s voice cracked as he threw out a hand, panic flooding his face. The memory of losing Vorden and Gordon surged through him like a dagger to the chest.

"I told you already... you were too weak," a calm voice pierced the chaos.

Pitch-black shadows spiraled beneath Scarlet’s feet—then swallowed her whole. The laser beams slammed into the earth where she’d stood just a breath ago.

"Kael?!" Dave gasped.

Standing tall and radiant, Kael emerged from the shadows, his body glowing like molten silver.

Lightning sparked and danced across his skin, arcing violently into the ground with each breath he took. His cracked mask shattered completely—splintering apart like glass—and fell in slow motion.

This was no ordinary breakthrough. Kael’s entire being glowed like a miniature sun, blinding and divine, bathing the arena in celestial white.

"Trap it—NOW!" Kael commanded, his voice like thunder.

Dante didn’t hesitate. He slammed both palms to the ground, and the arena rumbled. Jagged earth shot up around the beast’s legs like vices, locking it in place.

"This is all I’ve got left!" Dave shouted, veins bulging, face drenched in sweat. With sheer will, he conjured a swarm of spinning metal shards that wrapped around the wolf’s legs, sealing it tighter.

"This should help too," Max added through bloodied lips. Above him, two hundred glowing lightning arrows hovered, trembling with power and promise.

Swinging his arms downward, Max unleashed the full might of his spell.

The two hundred lightning arrows hovering above him obeyed like divine instruments, cascading toward the immobilized beast in a brilliant storm of destruction.

Each arrow screamed through the air before smashing into the wolf’s body, erupting in explosive bursts of energy. A tremendous shockwave radiated from the impact, scattering debris and tearing deep grooves into the earth.

Electricity crackled wildly across the arena. The beast spasmed violently, arcs of lightning dancing across its fur and limbs.

Though its body remained mostly intact, its muscles seized up, paralyzed by the devastating voltage coursing through its veins. It couldn’t move.

Not even a twitch. For the next five minutes, the creature would be completely immobilized—a stunned titan, vulnerable and exposed.

Kael watched from a short distance, his breathing labored, a wild glint in his eyes. "This is going to hurt," he muttered, his voice hoarse with exhaustion and resolve.

Then, without hesitation, a bolt of pure lightning shot down from the sky as if summoned by the heavens themselves. It struck Kael dead center, engulfing him in blinding light.

His entire body became a conduit for raw elemental power. The ground beneath his feet cracked, stones levitated, and the temperature around him surged with overwhelming heat.

The brilliance was so intense that everyone within six meters instinctively threw their arms up, shielding their eyes from the blazing inferno of light and energy.

Kael clenched his fists and let out a roar that echoed across the arena. "Lightning Magic: OVERLOAD!"

BOOOOM!

An earth-shattering explosion tore through the air.

A gargantuan surge of lightning burst from Kael’s body, a white-hot torrent of destruction that raced toward the paralyzed beast and swallowed it whole. The creature barely had time to howl in agony before the sound was consumed by the roaring detonation.

The entire battlefield shook violently. Dust erupted in massive waves, while a deafening shockwave blasted outward, nearly throwing everyone off their feet. The light faded slowly, leaving a heavy silence behind.

Kael’s body crumpled to the ground, limp and motionless. A sickening thud echoed as he collapsed, steam rising from his scorched armor, his mana completely depleted.

As the dust began to settle, the extent of the destruction became clear.

Half the arena was simply gone—obliterated. What remained of the battlefield was nothing but molten craters, shattered stone, and smoldering debris. The bodies of weaker beasts had been vaporized by the blast, leaving not even ash behind.

And the wolf?

Gone. Erased. Not a single fang, bone, or tuft of fur remained. It had been annihilated completely, consumed in Kael’s all-powerful burst.

Across the remaining half of the arena, another battle raged on.

There, Grey was locked in brutal combat against the ogre—a spectacle of its own.

But at that moment, all eyes remained on Kael, the mage who had just brought down a force of nature with a single, devastating attack.
