Lunar Legacy: Rise Of The Beastlord-Chapter 76: Wrath of Titans
Chapter 76: Wrath of Titans
The sky cracked.
No thunder. No lightning. Just sheer presence. A tremor in the heavens as the ground itself held its breath.
The Winter Wolf was stunned at Jayden’s sudden recovery. He was just a few seconds away from freezing up completely. Losing the fight and going into a forever sleep.
And it still looked like he was... his body was still stiff and his joints were still frozen. But yet, he looked so confident.
That made her excited about what would happen next.
Jayden on the other hand, kept grinning. His eyes locked on the Winter wolf.
His fingers twitched.
Once.
Twice.
A low growl rumbled from deep in his chest. No... not a growl. A warning. A sound so ancient it shook the air, a sound born from primal bloodlines older than the moon.
Then...
BOOM!
A geyser of heat exploded from his body, vaporizing the frost clinging to his flesh.
The icy curse on his outer body shattered like glass. His skin turning normal again.
The frost in his lungs melted into steam. Allowing him to breath well again.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
His frozen heart roared back to life with a defiant pulse that echoed like war drums.
CRACK!
His spine cracked and extended, muscles rippling and swelling like molten lava flowing through veins. His form exploded upward. Seven feet... Eight... Nine.
Brown fur thickened like armor, but shimmered with streaks of silvery light—like moonlight trapped in motion. His claws curved like obsidian blades. His golden eyes glowed even more fiercely.
His jaw extended into that of a ferocious lupine, and his face changed completely, leaving no traces of humanlike features.
[Full transformation (Lycan) Complete]
[All stats have been tripled]
The system notification disappeared from Jayden’s line of sight as fast as it appeared.
He now stood as a towering Lycan. A werewolf in all his primal glory.
And the best part of everything was... Jayden was in control.
Still conscious. Still himself. Just... bigger and more hairy.
The Winter Wolf took a fighting stance, her eyes gleaming with savage amusement.
She growled, baring her fangs.
But before she could move...
BOOM!
Jayden disappeared... a blur of motion. Trees snapped as he blasted through them, using telekinesis to launch himself like a living missile. His claws raised, ready to deliver a fatal strike.
He was still sane, which meant he could utilise his telekinesis well. And that was exactly what he planned to do.
Combine his telekinesis with his amplified lycan strength.
The Winter Wolf dodged, but not fast enough.
CRACK!
Jayden’s claw swiped across her shoulder, leaving glowing red gashes that hissed with burning steam. Her blood sizzled as it hit the dirt.
She snarled, recovered, and retaliated.
Ice formed in the air. Dozens of crystal spears hovered above her head, each one spinning, glowing blue with death.
Then without wasting a single second, she hurled them at Jayden, each spear tearing through the air with a deadly precision.
Jayden leapt, spiraling mid-air.. his telekinesis twisting the frozen weapons back toward her.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Explosions of frost and earth shattered the coliseum clearing.
The beasts watching from afar ducked, hid, ran.
This was no longer a fight, it was a natural disaster.
Jayden and the Winter wolf stood opposite each other again, both unscathed from the previous glacier explosion.
They both panted and calculated, anticipating each other’s moves.
Then.. they clashed again. Their bodies meeting in a determined frenzy.
Jayden’s foot slammed into the Winter Wolf’s side, launching her through two trees. She twisted mid-air, landed on her claws—and howled.
The air froze. A sudden shockwave of pure ice magic surged out like a blizzard.
Jayden raised his arms, and braced himself. But he was overwhelmed by the blizzard and encased in a glacier the size of a house.
For a moment... there was silence.
Then...
CRRRAAAAAACKKK!
He broke out, roaring, his body steaming from the heat pulsing inside him. His wounds healed, muscles swelling again.
Then he charged, and so did the Winter wolf.
They met once more.
Clashing with fists. Claws. Ice. Mind. Might.
Jayden summoned boulders with his mind and hurled them like missiles.
SWOOSH.
The Winter wolf dodged with serpentine grace and launched frozen chains that tried to bind Jayden. But he growled and shattered them mid-spin.
The Winter wolf didn’t wait. She launched toward him, claws glowing blue.. ready to deliver another frostbite strike.
Jayden ducked low, grabbed her by the hind leg, and slammed her into the frozen earth like a meteor.
BAM!
She hit the ground hard.
But she immediately recoiled and broke free from Jayden’s grip.
Then she vanished... and appeared behind him.
He turned, but was too slow to react.
SHRRRRK!
Her claws tore through his ribs, freezing it instantly... but Jayden didn’t flinch. He grabbed her wrist mid-swipe, eyes glowing with rage-fueled clarity.
"Gotcha."
He pulled her into a devastating headbutt.. Their heads meeting with a loud bang. Skull to skull. Bone to bone.
Both stumbled back from the impact.
Jayden recovered first. He leapt. And mid-air, he spun into a roundhouse kick, aiming for her head. But she noticed him in time and ducked.
He landed on all fours, and Immediately launched upward again... meeting her in the air. He raised his claws, clashing with hers.
BANG!
Their fists.. or rather, paws collided mid-air, sending out a shockwave that cratered the earth below.
They landed gracefully on the ground, both panting from exhaustion.
But then... something shifted.
The Winter Wolf stepped back. her fur shimmering, her aura pulsing. Her wounds were... freezing over. Healing.
Jayden’s breath was heavier now. The heat he emitted was dimming. His regeneration couldn’t keep up. His form trembled. His right leg buckled for a split second.
He was tired.
The Winter wolf saw it. And her face curled into something that looked like a wicked smile.
She was going to use Jayden’s fatigue to her advantage.
Jayden charged anyway, his eyes still locked onto hers. They clashed again, but this time, she twisted beneath his attack, circled around—
And raked her claws across his back.
SLASH!
Steam and blood burst out, but Jayden didn’t react. Instead he turned, elbowed her in the jaw, then uppercutted her into the sky.
He wasn’t going down.
He refused.
Mid-air, the Winter wolf recovered and prepared to retaliate with a devastating attack of her own.
Jayden leapt up, heading towards her with outstretched claws.
Above the battlefield now, they crashed mid-air like stars colliding. The sky lit up with every hit, every claw, every kick, every telekinetic blast sending ripples through the battlefield.
But Jayden was slowing.
The form was powerful, yes. But not infinite.
The Winter Wolf spun, her tail coated in ice. She struck him with it and followed with a devastating barrage.
Right hook... Jayden blocked.
Claw uppercut... He caught it.
Double claw strike... he parried and deflected. Making sure that he didn’t receive any fatal hit from her.
But then she crouched, and rammed her head into his chest, launching him into a large boulder.
CRACK.
Jayden crashed into the boulder, his bones snapping from impact. He coughed blood, but growled through it.
The Winter wolf stood on a spot now, ice gathering behind her again.
The beasts around the clearing stared in awe, too afraid to move. Trees had been leveled. The hilltop colosseum was nearly flattened. The very air shimmered from the sheer energy.
Jayden stood tall, his fur matted with blood, muscles trembling. His breath fogged the air, mixing heat with frost.
The energy radiating off him crackled with raw, divine fury, but it was dimming. His stamina was beginning to burn out.
But his will remained unyielding.
Across from him, the Winter Wolf stood poised, elegant, regal in her savagery. Her wounds had closed. Her ice had spread further across the battlefield, turning everything in a mile radius into a crystalline death garden.
Yet even she panted softly.
Even she was starting to feel it.
Fatigue.
They both remained on a spot, catching their breath and replenishing their energy. Each one respecting the unspoken agreement to not attack for the next few seconds.
And once these few seconds passed, they would resume their battle. Fighting with everything they have, because they both knew that the next round might probably be the last.
And there could only be one victor.
