Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Weekends
After falling asleep for a full night, a day passed, and morning finally came and that is Saturday.
That means no classes today. Jeff woke up early, at 5 AM, and started with some stretches.
He then focused on cultivation for at least 2 hours. As time passed, he could feel his body becoming stronger and more powerful with each minute.
With a final exhale, he opened his eyes, feeling energized. He stood up from the bed, stretching his limbs, ready to start the day.
"But what should I do though?" He though deeply.
"I guess none," he shrugged his shoulder.
Today, he had no specific plans in mind. Making him felt a sense of freedom, unsure of what to do next, but excited for whatever came his way.
As he was still planning what he was going to do, a sudden knock on his door broke his concentration, making him narrow his eyes.
Actually, thanks to his enhanced senses, especially his hearing, he could tell that someone had been pacing back and forth just outside his door for over five minutes.
The culprit?
Well, he didn’t know who it was, so he stood up and walked to the door to see for himself.
He opened the door, his hair still messy as he lifts his shirt slightly, revealing his rock-hard abs. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
He then scratched on it due to his habit. Finally, he looked up and saw who it was.
Standing there, fully dressed, was none other than Jessica. She was staring at him with wide eyes, as if caught off guard by the unexpected sight.
Jessica stood at the doorway, her long black hair flowing down to her waist like a silken waterfall.
Her dark eyes sparkled like precious gems, so dazzling and intense that made his sleepiness away. Her flawless face held no trace of blemish it was just pure, captivating beauty.
She wore a delicate, light lavender dress with sheer puffed sleeves and gentle ruffles along the neckline and hem.
The fabric was airy and elegant, hugging her form just enough to highlight her natural curves while keeping her look adorably sweet
The outfit was simple, but on her, it was devastating.
Her figure was balanced and naturally alluring, her breast that were slightly big yet perfectly shaped was enough to stir a reaction without effort.
Despite her cold usual looked, the moment her gaze landed on his exposed abs, her expression faltered.
A rosy blush crept across her cheeks, and for a split second, she looked away clearly flustered and shy, and undeniably cute.
"Huh, why are you knocking so early in the morning?" Jeff said with a yawn, stopping his hand from scratching his stomach.
Hearing his words and remembering why she was here, Jessica looked at him straight in the face with a strong-willed expression.
"Did you forget about the promise we made?" she said, her tone turning cold.
"Promise?" Jeff tilted his head.
He didn’t even notice the shift in the atmosphere as it began to grow more tense, when he replied that.
Seeing his blank expression, Jessica couldn’t help but stomp her foot on the floor, frustration evident in her face.
"You really did forget? We’re going out, don’t you remember about that?" she said, her voice laced with bitterness.
Finally, remembering what she was talking about, Jeff’s gaze brightened, and a knowing look appeared in his eyes.
"I see, I see," he said.
"But..." he paused and continued.
"The heck it’s just only 7 in the morning. Aren’t you too early and excited?" he said to her.
Hearing this, Jessica just harrumphed, her face turning red as she passed by him, intruding into his room like it was her own.
She sat on the bed, taking in the manly scent lingering in the air.
The bed sheets had been removed, and Jeff had washed them when he showered to avoid the lingering impurities and bad smell.
Seeing her act so casually around him made Jeff unsure of how to react.
It was as if she was completely at ease, while he was left to process her sudden and familiar behavior.
Jessica couldn’t help but glance at him from time to time, her gaze lingering on his handsome face, clearly captivated by it.
Jeff, feeling her eyes on him, turned to look at her. She was caught in the act, and her face flushed as she quickly looked down fully panicked.
"Why is her face so red? What a weird girl," he thought inwardly, not knowing the source of her sudden change in color.
"So can we go later? Like, it’s just so early. Maybe the afternoon and..." Before he could finish, he was interrupted.
"No, I want it now. Let’s go and eat outside. Consider it my treat," she said firmly, not taking no for an answer.
"Ahhh, okay, let me dress up first," Jeff said with a sigh, looking at her.
But as he looked at her, his gaze lingering just a bit too long, Jessica felt her heartbeat quicken.
She looked at him with trembling eyes, unsure of how to handle the growing tension between them.
"Wh... What are you looking at?" she stuttered, her voice wavering slightly.
"Ahh, I’m going to get dress. Aren’t you going to leave?" he asked, his face expressionless.
Hearing this she scoffed.
"You’re a man and you’re just taking off your clothes. Why are you so embarrassed in front of me?" she said, a teasing smile playing on her lips.
Seeing her look made him wonder if she had taken some kind of drugs.
Feeling shy about the situation, he quickly grabbed some clothes from the wardrobe, then went to the bathroom to shower and get dressed.
When he left, Jessica was alone sitting there with a broken smile, as she lay down on the bed.
She rolled back and forth, her face flushed with embarrassment as she tried to hide it behind her hands, clearly struggling with her feelings.
"Oh my gosh, I’m such a perverted girl. Don’t tell me he’s going to think I’m the kind of girl who’s easy to get, right?" she said, her eyes brimming with tears.
She lay on the bed, staring up at the ceiling as she kicked the air and pounded the mattress with her fists, cringing at her own actions.
She couldn’t forget it. The moment looped in her mind like a cursed replay, growing more humiliating each time.
"Calm down, Jessica. You’re just playing, it’s normal, totally normal. Right? Right?" she whispered, trying to convince herself, her voice trembling.
She snatched a pillow and buried her face in it, letting out a muffled scream that vibrated through the fabric.
Her legs flailed, kicking the air in frustration, while her fists pounded the bed beneath her.
"Why did I have to say that?" she groaned into the pillow, her voice cracked with regret.
"You’re just taking off your clothes and blah blah blah" she mimicked herself, voice dripping with self-loathing.
She rolled to her side, covering her red face with both hands as her toes curled in secondhand embarrassment from her own memory.
"Like who even says that with a smile like that?!" Jessica exclaimed as she turned to the side, grabbed the blanket, and rolled herself into a cocoon.
Her heart was racing, not from excitement, but from pure shyness and overwhelming regret.
"He’s going to think I’m some thirsty, desperate flirt!" she wailed into the air, her voice rising with panic.
"No no no no no! I should’ve just shut up. Just smiled and moved on like a normal person," she scolded herself, gently hugging the blanket for comfort.
"But I can’t," she groaned, sitting up on the bed.
"Why do I have to tease him like some drama queen from a soap opera?"
Her cheeks puffed out in frustration as she raised both hands, wiggling her fingers in a dramatic no motion, like some overly emotional actress trying to undo her own scene.
She groaned and slapped her forehead with a loud smack.
"Jessica, what are you even doing with your life?" she muttered, sinking deeper into her spiral of embarrassment.
That was when she looked toward the bathroom door and froze.
Jeff was standing there, fully dressed, staring at her with a look that was somewhere between concern and confusion.
Her eyes slowly shifted to meet his, it was wide and lifeless like her soul had just left her body.
"Uhh... are you okay?" Jeff asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Why don’t we just call it a day if you’re not feeling well?"
Jessica didn’t even blink. Only silence and pure emotional damage filled the air.
His hair was still damp, with droplets of water slowly trickling down his face, that made him look effortlessly stunning.
His eyes, that striking shade of gold, shimmered like something not quite human but too perfect and too unreal.
"I’m dead," Jessica whispered in her mind.
Before collapsing back onto the bed like her soul had given up. Her cheeks were burning so intensely it felt like they were letting off steam.
"He actually saw how silly I was. I want to die. I want to disappear," she thought, drowning in mortification.
"Please... if there’s a god, just turn me into air and let me vanish," she pleaded.
Her eyes squeezed shut, her hands resting on her abdomen and locking together like she was preparing for a dramatic funeral.
Her face was peaceful, as she slumbered there. Right at that moment she was at the paradise.
"Uhh, hey, are you still alive." Jeff called out.
