Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 673: William D Ashryver Ready For The Interview
Irene was trying to prepare herself for the interview later. She would answer all the questions with the answer that Aimee and her brother had prepared. Irene had also trained with her teacher and now was the time to face the academy directors who were one of the determinants of acceptance into the academy.
The interview was a difficult one for Irene because she had to deal with many strangers at once. Whereas during the test yesterday, she only needed to answer on a piece of paper. Seeing Irene’s nervousness, Aimre held the child’s hand, which was now wearing a navy blue glove with white lace. Irene was wearing the same dress as yesterday.
Irene turned to Aimee who smiled at her, and she also smiled.
They arrived at the academy with several other carriages, which were filled with people who were going to be interviewed. Everyone there knew that the carriage was carrying a royal family, so they immediately stepped aside and bowed down to wait for the royal member to get off the carriage.
William helped Irene down. The child accepted his hand and stood up, waiting for Aimee to come down too. Mrs. Churchill, the headmistress at the academy, welcomed Irene and asked the child to wait in a special room. It was a different room from the other nobles.
Aimee accompanied Irene inside, while William waited outside with several other knights. They could see that the academy was full of adults vying to leave a good impression on the academy directors so they could be deemed worthy of their children being accepted into the academy.
William also saw the Ferdi couple, Sasha’s parents, who had just arrived. They entered a different room. Sasha who was walking behind his parents saw William and raised his small hand to greet the man. William did the same.
Sasha actually wanted to approach William to ask about Irene, but his parents said that he had to be polite because in that crowd, there would be several people who usually hid themselves to judge the attitude of the children taking part in the interview. Thus, they should be calm and polite.
"Excuse me, Sir. We bring snacks for Her Highness Princess Irene," said an academy maid. William looked towards the other room and saw several maids also bringing snacks for the children and their parents and guardian as well. He looked at its contents and allowed the maid to enter. William didn’t let his guard down as he also went inside. He waited until the maid finished serving the snacks.
Irene said thank you. She sat casually while staring at the window. Aimee offered to pour a cup of tea, and Irene accepted it gracefully as Aimee had taught her. After seeing that, the woman asked permission to leave the room. Aimee couldn’t help but laugh. So did William. It seemed the academy was still doing useless tests like this.
Seriously, with all the series of tests that existed, Aimee wondered how could a human like Lazarus pass?
Each student was called along with their parents and guardians to enter the room, which was already filled by five men from the school directors and dozens of teachers, including Mrs. Churchill, who was the school headmistress, were already there.
Rather than saying it as an interview, it was more like they were in court. William forbade Irene to wait outside because he didn’t want the girl to see some of the students who left the courtroom or interview room while crying as well as some parents who swore in annoyance. William had forgotten about what had happened there because it had been more than twenty years and now he would be returning on behalf of King Ronan as a legal guardian for Princess Irene.
At first, William felt relaxed. Aimee also reminded William several times to be relaxed, but every time he saw a child leaving the room with a gloomy face, it made him get nervous. He tried to calm himself several times, believing that he was a good negotiator.
William often met many people, but he had never been this nervous before. He held his heart, which was beating very fast. Maybe this was what every parent who sent their child to school felt? 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Now it was Irene’s turn. William invited Irene to go to the interview room together. Aimee and some guards would be waiting for them in the same room. William glanced at Irene who kept quiet since before. Luckily, the child looked calm, and seeing Irene’s calmness made William also slowly forget his nervousness.
"You are not nervous?" asked William in a whisper as they arrived at the door of the interview room.
Irene turned to her side and nodded.
"William," she called in a very small voice and waved her hand so William could come closer.
"Hm?
The child stretched out her hand then smoothed William’s collar folds, which had been standing up. She also adjusted the royal crest pinned on the man’s chest. William touched Irene’s hand gently.
"Thank you. This makes me less nervous."
"We only need to tightly clench our fists and take a deep breath to turn fear into thirty seconds of courage, right?" Irene asked.
William smiled and nodded. "Of course. Easy right? Don’t forget to tell your brother how cool I am later, okay?" he replied, making Irene smile.
Irene nodded, then a guard informed that the interview room was ready. The interview door was open. Seeing Irene’s presence as a royal princess made everyone there stand up and bowed down. Irene returned their salute elegantly.
"Her Highness Princess Irene D. Blackthorn, welcome to Edelweiss Academy. Please sit with your guardian."
William invited Irene to sit first, then he followed to sit beside the child.
"Sir, William D. Ashryver. You come to represent His Highness King Ronan D. Blackthorn, right?"
"I, William D. Ashryver, will represent His Majesty King Ronan D. Blackthorn as the legal guardian of Her Highness Princess Irene. I have promised to carry out this task without discrediting His Majesty the King."
William’s statement just now was a sign that the interview had begun.
