Chapter 672: On The Trip For Interview

"Calm down, Princess... I’m sure you will be accepted. Just look at you! You only can’t answer three out of two hundred questions! You are a genius at learning in just one month! I’m sure even Sasha will have a hard time answering half of the questions of the test."

Ah, Arielle forgot that today Sasha had also taken the admission test for a different year. The boy took the admission test for the first year, while Irene was the only child who took the admission test for the third year. Arielle would probably send a letter to the child later.

"Lazarus, you underestimate Sasha too much. You know, even a child that small probably has twice your brain capacity. Don’t underestimate him," said Aimee, making William laugh out loud.

Arielle saw Irene’s face, which looked uneasy. Perhaps the child was still not sure whether she would be accepted or not. While the others were busy chatting, Arielle then stood up to sit beside Irene.

"It’s getting late, you don’t want to sleep?" asked Arielle to her sister-in-law.

Irene shook her head. "I’m not sleepy. My heart is beating fast, and I’m afraid to wait for the results to be announced."

Arielle held Irene’s hand. She turned to her husband who was holding back his laughter because of Lazarus’ joke. Feeling someone’s gaze on him, Ronan turned to his wife and raised his eyebrows as he asked what was wrong.

"Irene will definitely be accepted, right?" Arielle asked in a whisper.

"Of course. There is nothing to worry about," replied Ronan which made Arielle let out a sigh of relief.

There was a knock on the door again and Lucas appeared while carrying lots of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Lucas was being held by Lazarus. He was forbidden to return until their little party was over. When the food arrived, the atmosphere was getting lively.

Arielle felt that she had lost another person, namely Tania. However, lately, Tania often complained that she got tired easily, and that was why Arielle didn’t want to force the woman to join them.

Arielle received a cup of warm milk, and so did Irene. Ronan received all the alcohol from William who kept saying that he would impress the entire academy directors tomorrow.

William told Irene not to worry about the interview tomorrow. Irene just needed to believe in herself and everything would finish even before she realized that. After that, Irene could sleep soundly until the announcement day arrived.

The little party ended up very late. Priest Elis asked permission to go first after being forced by Lazarus to drink a glass of tea or milk on the table. The man seemed awkward being with them.

Arielle could see that Priest Elis was uncomfortable with Lazarus’ pushy attitude, but it was hard for Priest Elis to say no until he finally ate a piece of pie and drank a glass of hot tea. After that, he asked permission to leave the room.

Arielle and Ronan gave him permission. Aimee had also returned to accompany Irene to rest because they would be going to the academy tomorrow to conduct an interview with the academy directors.

Arielle had also returned to her room. Actually, Ronan wanted to catch up with his wife as soon as possible, but he didn’t want to leave William and Lazarus drunk in his wife’s library unattended. Even though Kael was already there, Ronan still couldn’t just leave both of them.

The next day, William woke up with a very dizzy head. There was a loud knock on his bedroom door, and it caused his head to throb even harder. He drank too much last night. William cursed at Lazarus because the man had made him drink more than he should when he had an important task today.

Important task?

William instantly opened his eyes and ignored the throbbing in his head. He quickly got up and opened the door to see Aimee, who was already neat, stood in front of the door with an irritated face.

"You know, the maids have come to wake you up. Have you forgotten that we are going to the academy again today? This is the result-"

William didn’t want to hear Aimee’s loud voice early in the morning like this, so he closed the door quickly. Then, he immediately cleaned his body and changed into neat clothes. He also did not forget to use perfume to get rid of the smell of alcohol that slowly disappeared from him.

William knew that it was wrong to just close the door right in front of Aimee’s face, but he didn’t want to risk his head from splitting apart because of Aimee’s booming voice. Even after taking a bath and drinking lots of water, William was still dizzy. Luckily, he had a breakfast of warm soup that made his hangover disappear instantly.

William returned with a fresh face. He went to the king’s room to report and saw Arielle and Irene sitting on the couch.

"You’re fifteen minutes late," Ronan said irritatedly.

"Forgive me, Your Majesty. Something happened before I came here," replied William.

Ronan knew that the man had woken up late. He just let it go because he didn’t want to endure his sister’s departure any longer. Irene walked up to William as well as Aimee. Arielle accompanied her sister-in-law to the front of the palace grounds where the carriage they were going to use was waiting.

William let Aimee and Irene get into the carriage with another apprentice priest to warm up their bodies. Arielle waved her hand at Irene, which the child replied from the window.

"In that case, we will go first, Your Highness," William asked Arielle’s permission to go.

"Okay, be careful on the way, William," answered Arielle who saw William get on his horse. Then, the carriage that brought Irene back moved out of the palace.

The trip felt the same, but because Irene was nervous, she couldn’t focus on the scenery outside even though she always took the time to look out the window whenever she left the palace.
