Chapter 670: The Day For The Academy’s Admission Test

"You seem unfocused. Are you thinking of Irene?" Ronan asked after seeing his wife, who seemed distracted by something.

Arielle nodded. "I hope she’s fine and doesn’t force herself. I mean, she’s been studying really hard for the past month. She can also answer the questions from the teacher perfectly. I hope Irene can relax more after this."

Ronan held his wife’s hand and played with her fingers.

"Irene will be back tonight. She can have a long rest after the announcement later. We will have fun, right? We have postponed our trip to the sea because we have to wait for Irene to prepare for the test. She can relax there," Ronan replied.

"Then, how about the parent and guardian interview that will be held tomorrow?"

Ronan chuckled. The interview was just a formality. It was to see if their student was from a noble family or not. Who didn’t know Ronan and Irene? Even knowing that Princess Irene was a royal princess was enough for them to accept her.

However, because Mrs. Churchill was a person who always obeyed the rules, the woman wanted Princess Irene to go through all the tests given like other prospective students. Ronan had no doubts at all. He was sure that his sister would be accepted. Not only because she was a royal princess, but because of her ability and knowledge, so he was sure that Irene would pass the academy’s test with ease.

The interview tomorrow would be represented by William. King Arthur, as the father of Irene and Ronan, had chosen to live in hiding. He wanted to have a simple life and lived with Priest Louise while taking care of the late Queen Zoe’s grave.

"There’s still fifteen minutes left, right? Can I go to the cathedral? I want to pray for Irene."

Ronan finished his lunch and thought for a moment. He put his chin on his palm while looking at his wife. Even though he was blessed several times, that didn’t make Ronan a person who often prayed or praised the Moon Goddess. He never prayed, but Arielle was quite diligent in doing so.

Actually, Ronan wanted to use those fifteen minutes to spend time with Arielle, but his wife looked so eager to go to the cathedral. Yeah... what could Ronan do? If it made Arielle a little more relieved and less worried, then he would have let her go.

"Actually, you don’t need to ask my permission, Arielle. Do what you want," Ronan replied, making his wife smile broadly.

Ronan spent the rest of his break time in his room while Arielle went to the cathedral, accompanied by several guards and maids. After finishing her prayer, she returned to the great hall of Blackthorn Palace to continue her duties as a queen. She accompanied Ronan to listen to the wishes of the citizens.

Ronan had told Arielle to have a rest first when it was already night. Their monthly meeting was over. Ronan only had a private meeting with several nobles, royal officials as well as elders and advisers. Arielle returned to her personal library while waiting for Irene’s arrival.

Several times, the girl left the room and walked towards the balcony to see if Irene’s carriage had arrived or not. She couldn’t sit still and always felt restless. She hadn’t even visited Abigail’s dragon eggs because she wanted to know Irene’s condition first.

Arielle was about to turn around to return to her personal library until she heard the sound of a carriage approaching closer. She looked back and saw Irene’s carriage had arrived. Without wasting time or taking her coat, Arielle rushed towards the palace grounds.

"Your Highness! Your dinner!" said Lucas who had just arrived to bring dinner for Arielle.

"Later, Lucas. Just put it in my room. I want to meet Irene first!" the girl said as she stopped running to tell Lucas.

Irene finally came home together with Aimee, Lazarus, and another apprentice priest that accompanied them on their journey so that Irene wouldn’t get cold during the trip.

"Irene?" called Arielle who arrived right after Irene got off the carriage.

"Arielle!" Irene ran quickly towards Arielle then jumped and hugged her tightly.

"Whaa... how is it? Is everything okay?" Arielle asked curiously.

Irene shook her head, making Arielle frown. She turned to Aimee as well as Lazarus who arrived with Irene.

"Princess Irene said that she had difficulty answering three multiple-choice questions. The answer she got was not in the options listed."

"Oh, my... three questions? How many questions were given?" Arielle asked Lazarus.

"Out of two hundred questions."

Because Arielle never went to the academy, she didn’t know if it was considered bad or not, but... two hundred questions were a lot and if it was only three questions, Arielle thought... it wasn’t bad at all.

"It’s fine. I think it’s already very good, right?" Arielle asked Aimee.

"Of course, Your Highness. I’ve said that to Irene many times. I even had difficulty answering almost half of the questions and I was still able to pass into the academy," said Aimee, trying to calm the princess who had been looking nervous after finishing the test.

"And I only got three right! Yet, I can still enter the academy as well!" Lazarus chimed in proudly while lifting up three fingers forward.

Arielle, who didn’t understand anything, immediately knew that what Lazarus had done was very bad.

"Did all of you have dinner?" She ignored it and asked another question.

"We have. I’m taking Princess Irene to eat at the most delicious restaurant in Northendell so she could cheer her up before going home," Lazarus replied.

"Then, please have a rest. Sleep well and you can tell me everything tomorrow," said Arielle who invited Irene to return to her room.

Several maids came out of the princess’s room. They had prepared warm water as well as clean clothes. Arielle waited for Irene to finish taking a bath and getting dressed. She asked about the boy named Cedric or whatever had happened between them several times, but Irene remained silent.

Arielle really couldn’t wait until tomorrow to hear the story. When she stood up to leave Irene’s room, the child pulled the sleeve of her dress. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Yeah, Irene? Is there something you want?" asked Arielle.
