Rowan’s vision was flooded with a recent series of notifications following Winston’s successful evolution.

Rowan carefully studied the notification, and his expression brightened, especially concerning Winston’s newly obtained skill and his rank’s sudden increase by a hundred.

After he was done reading, he returned his attention to Winston, whose eyes fluttered open as he surveyed his surroundings while his consciousness returned bit by bit after the just concluded tedious process.

He observed the faces of the soldiers staring at him with eyes filled with anticipation and other emotions, causing him to display a confused expression.

"What happened?" he asked Rowan, who stood few meters away.

The last thing Winston recalled was slaying a goblin and then blacking out when a strange and painful sensation greeted his body, causing him to enter a deep subconscious state while his body went through pain.

Waking up, he was surprised to see that the battle had concluded already and, strangely enough, everyone was staring at him as though he was a ghost.

While trying to process the situation going on around him, his eyes fell on Bryce laying beside him.

With the movement of Bryce, he could tell he was going through pain.

"What is happening to Captain Bryce?" he asked with worries in his eyes.

"He is going through the same thing you went through, Winston." Rowan walked up to Winston and helped him up.

Winston stood and looked at Rowan, even more confused this time; he still didn’t understand the situation going on around him.

Unlike Rowan, who knew about evolution and had the system to notify him, Winston didn’t, so grasping the whole scenario right now was pretty difficult.

"You have evolved, Winston. You’ve become the first man to evolve past their human limit in Winterseed, aside from myself," Rowan revealed.

"Evolved?"

Winston was still confused.

Rowan figured out it would take too much time explaining everything to him by words, so he decided to provide a physical explanation.

Rowan scanned his eyes amongst his soldiers and found the biggest one; he was about 6’3" tall and had a pretty chubby build.

It would take at least two ordinary men to properly carry someone of such build.

Rowan called the chubby soldier out; his name was Mark.

"Winston, try to lift Mark up," Rowan said.

The soldiers, as well as Winston, became confused at once.

"Lord Rowan, I can’t possibly lift someone like Mark on my own," Winston immediately complained.

"Just do what I said," Rowan pestered.

Winston looked at Rowan and then at Mark interchangeably before taking the step forward.

’There is no way someone like Winston would be able to lift me; I understand that Winston is a good swordsman, but his strength is definitely not enough to lift me up, naturally,’ Mark thought while Winston arrived before him.

Mark was about two inches taller than Winston, so there wasn’t that much height difference between them; the only difference lay in size: Winston was slender, and Mark was the opposite.

Winston took in a deep breath and wrapped his hands around Mark’s waist in an attempt to lift him off the ground, and then, without hesitation, he proceeded with his attempt even though he didn’t believe he would make it.

Everyone, including Rowan, glued their eyes on both of them, anticipation written in them.

In a few seconds, the place was filled with gasps of surprise and disbelief.

"How did he lift him up so easily?"

"This... He is lifting Mark as though he is lifting a six-year-old boy? This is insane."

"This can’t be!"

"Wow!"

The soldiers reacted at the scene before them.

Winston could be seen lifting Mark off the ground without a look of stress on his face; it was almost as though he wasn’t trying hard to do so.

"How??"

Winston himself was shocked by the power output of his own body; he’d never imagined himself possessing such strength to lift the biggest soldier with ease.

He dropped Mark down immediately and stared at his hands in disbelief.

Then he turned to Rowan with so many emotions revealed in his facial expression.

Rowan smiled at him without replying immediately.

He turned to look at Bryce, who had neared the completion of his own evolution.

The same series of notifications for Winston, except the novice rank going up, were displayed once again.

About ten seconds later, Bryce’s eyes jotted open.

Unlike Winston, who reacted calmly upon waking up, Bryce leapt up from his lying position and took a combat pose as though he was in the middle of an intense battle.

Only while in his battle pose did he observe everyone and realize he was standing with Rowan and others.

He returned to his normal standing position but with a confused expression.

He asked Rowan what was happening.

Rowan did not hesitate and explained to him, he told him about his evolution and what to expect after evolving.

Bryce eyes kept widening with a grin as he listened.

"You mean I can exact more strength with my hands and more speed while running than any ordinary human?" he asked, eyes widened.

Rowan nodded.

Bryce grinned afterwards and strolled towards a nearby tree with a pretty hard back.

Everyone watched him, pretty surprised by his bizarre behavior and reaction after waking up.

Some of the soldiers even whispered amongst themselves, asking if he was okay up there.

"Let me test my punch against this tree!"

Bryce yelled, clenched his fist, and delivered a punch at the huge tree.

BOOM!

The explosive sound of his fist colliding against the tree resounded.

The tree shook violently following the punch.

It was almost as though a raging bull monster had charged against it.

The intensity at which it shook was just so powerful, something an ordinary human would never be able to accomplish.

Not just the intensity of the tree proved his newfound supernatural strength—normally, after punching a tree that hard, one’s fist would usually go sore or get badly injured, or at least hurt the owner madly—but Bryce felt nothing.

All the soldiers were so surprised by such display of strength by their captain.

Winston’s display of strength was the calm and gentle type, and it was able to create a stir within them, forcing them to grow stronger.

Bryce was more of the brutal and menacing type, and it made his character appear about three times cooler in the hearts of the young men.

The hopeless virgins amongst them could not help but imagine a scene of them displaying such strength in front of the huzz... Sorry, ladies.

They replayed the reaction of the ladies, and their heartbeat increased.

They clenched their fists and swore to slay more monsters and grow stronger.

On the other hand, Bryce stared at his fist with a wide grin and then turned to Rowan.

"This feel good! I feel like I’ll be able to take on stronger monsters out with a single punch now... wait, that’s an understatement, I might be able to take down a group of them with one punch! Hahahahahaha!" Bryce laughed maniacally.

Rowan smiled back, as he already expected such a reaction from the muscle-headed Bryce.

Winston was still getting used to his evolution.

He had already tested out his strength but not his agility.

He targeted a free faraway and then dashed forward at an astounding speed.

He pushed his body to the limit and was surprised by his own speed.

His eyes widened midway as he reached for the tree.

The soldiers also stared with wide opened mouth.

Rowan on the other hand watched with a gentle smile.

"I think I need to test out my speed as well," Bryce said and dashed at the same direction.

He ran extraordinarily fast as well, as though he was propelling through the air.

However, his speed was a little bit behind Winston’s thanks to their build.

Winston was always naturally faster than Bryce before the evolution and even after the evolution he still outclassed him agility-wise.

’I am not sure about strength and other stats though, the one with more endurance might go to Bryce while dexterity and intelligence might go to Winston,’ Rowan analyzed.

While he did so.

The other soldiers began experiencing immediate character development emotional after witnessing the prowess of the two.
