My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 348 - 347: Even Lowering Her Dignity to Beg Him
When Summer Shawcross came out, the butler holding the late-night snack stood there in a daze, looking puzzled at the guest room door that Noah Drexler had just slammed shut.
"Madam, just now..." Seeing Summer Shawcross come out, the butler showed a surprised expression, hesitating to speak further. ๐ง๐ณ๐ฆโฏ๐๐ฆ๐ท๐ฏ๐๐ฃ๐ฆ๐.๐ธ๐ฐ๐
Facing the butlerโs question, Summer paused for a moment, her expression tinged with awkwardness.
She glanced at the tightly closed door, showing a look of helplessness. Did he really need to guard against her like this...
"Itโs nothing, you go rest, Iโll handle things here..." she said with a resigned smile, forcing a smile towards the butler.
Hearing her words, the butler nodded gently, then turned and left with the late-night snack.
Once the butler left, Summer reached out to twist the doorknob but found it was locked from the inside.
She then quickly pressed her face against the door, listening for any sounds inside.
She could hear the sound of the shower running in the bathroom.
Her expression changed slightly. Was he taking a cold shower?
Thinking of this, she couldnโt help but bite her lip, feeling a deep sense of loss and powerlessness in her heart.
All the methods she could think of had been tried. Sheโd been angry, sad, even lowered her pride to beg him, worn out her lips, yet nothing worked, neither force nor persuasion.
Yet... he still wouldnโt let her have her way.
It seemed he was determined to send her away.
And no matter what she did, it wouldnโt change his decision.
She sighed softly, leaning her body against the door, her heart full of regret.
If only she could go back to when she was eighteen, to when she first met him.
Then, she would never have done anything to harm his company, and things between them wouldnโt have turned out like this.
Thinking of this, she couldnโt help but let out a bitter laugh.
As things stood, it seemed she had no other choice but to accept everything.
After all, she had indeed done those things back then. Even if he sent her abroad to appease the grievances within the company, she should accept everything without complaint, right?
Even within her own heart, she indeed thought the same way.
But why did the thought of being separated from him for half a year make her feel so miserable?
This feeling... was almost identical to the feeling when her father suddenly disappeared back then.
...
In the early hours of the morning.
The bedroom door was gently pushed open. The room was pitch-black, the window left open, and a gentle breeze stirred the curtains.
The man who had hurriedly left in the evening finally walked in slowly, stopping directly by the bedside.
His gaze fell on the curled-up, sleeping figure on the bed.
His handsome face displayed a complex mix of emotions.
After a moment, he leaned down, gently brushing the hair from her forehead with his hand, then lowering his head, his thin lips touched the corner of hers in a light kiss, reluctantly letting her go.
At this moment, the phone in his pocket suddenly started vibrating.
Noah Drexler raised his hand to take out his phone, glancing at the number, his eyes narrowed.
A moment later, he stepped out of the bedroom and returned the call to the number earlier.
"What is it?" he asked coldly.
"Boss, weโve captured Sean Shawcross!" The excited voice of a bodyguard came through the phone.
"Where?" Upon hearing this, Noahโs eyes sharpened, and he asked immediately.
"Right near The Hillside Villa," the bodyguardโs voice continued.
The manโs expression changed. After putting down the phone, he walked out with big strides, heading downstairs.
