Living with the Dangerous Beast-Chapter 75: Winter is Fine
Chapter 75: Winter is Fine
“Brother, are you looking in the mirror again?”
“Yes. I never get tired of it.”
“I can see why.”
Hwibeom made a soft chuckle. Yongbeom quickly hid the mirror away again.
“Hwibeom.”
“Yes, brother?” ƒгeewebnovёl.com
“When I get to live on my own, I think I’ll use my extraordinary beauty and talent to become the most sought-after playboy in the world.”
“Huh? Play-what? But brother, you are not very good at fighting, are you?”
“Oh, you foolish boy. If your brother says so, all you have to do is just believe!”
A sharp rebuke came from atop his head. Not wanting to upset his brother, the naive Hwibeom quickly apologized.
“I’m sorry, brother.”
“Don’t ask any more questions.”
“Yes, brother.”
Even though they were twins born just seconds apart, Yongbeom was much more mature. Hwibeom was often surprised by his brother’s worldly wisdom.
“Father is eagerly waiting for the day we both become independent.”
“Father is?”
Hwibeom, being somewhat oblivious, hadn’t noticed anything like that.
Though strict, their father loved and cared for Yongbeom and Hwibeom. It seemed unlikely that he’d be waiting for them to leave their nest.
“Tsk, tsk, isn’t it obvious? Think about it.”
Even though they were born of the same mother, Yongbeom was much quicker to pick up on things.
“Even slipping into Mother’s arms to be pampered feels awkward now.”
Another short sigh escaped from atop Hwibeom’s head.
“Let me rely on you until I find a good tiger wife.”
“Of course, brother.”
Thus, having been granted permission to continue enjoying his carefree life, Yongbeom waited for his capable younger brother to grow up before leaving the nest ten years later.
And precisely one month after leaving, Yongbeom met Hoyeon, a fierce tigress known as the Empress of the North. He instantly recognized the ice queen from the distant, cold lands.
True to his wish, Yongbeom left his brother’s side to woo the tigress maiden. Hwibeom initially objected, but he couldn’t possibly interfere with the decisions of a brother who had already come of age.
And not long after, Hwibeom also found his destined partner. She was none other than Jakhee, a white long-tailed tit.
When she first fell from the paulownia tree, she was so small and fragile that Hwibeom mistook her for a mere snowball.
However, Jakhee was, despite her appearance, a demigod born who was destined to become a phoenix.
Eventually, Hwibeom followed Jakhee up to the Celestial Kingdom, sometimes worrying about his brother, who had not sent any news for a while.
Jakhee, sensing Hwibeom’s concerns, would bring him rumors about his older brother that were spreading through the capital.
“They say that a daring male fox has captivated the Empress of the North, who rules over the frosty lands. It is said that the mightiest of beasts are all struggling to please this fox, who now lords over the snowy mountains.”
And so, as he had wished, Yongbeom became the consort of the formidable tigress who ruled the North, while Hwibeom became the son-in-law of the Jade Emperor.
Sohwa fainted from shock when she eventually heard of her children’s incredible success stories, but that was a tale for much later.
Bonus Story Chapter 1-4: Winter is Fine
Sohwa was lazily reading a book while resting her head on her husband’s lap.
The book was a travelogue written by an envoy who had visited lands across the seas, detailing various half-beast residing in the West.
Among the various half-beasts depicted in the book, what caught her interest the most were the serpents.
From a creature called an Anaconda that lived in a swamp so densely overgrown that it seemed like a mountain, to one named Dragon, which had wings and could travel between islands.
“Eek!”
Sohwa’s eyes widened as she saw the illustrations of those creatures drawn in ink.
The sight of such massive serpents, each the size of a house, inhabiting the West in various forms made her shudder. She anxiously turned the page.
Dohwi, who had been watching her with great affection, gently blew air on her face while carefully rubbing an egg against the area near her left eye.
It had already been three days now. Annoyed by his persistent care, Sohwa slowly lowered her book and looked up at him.
“Enough already. I’m fine.”
Three days earlier, at dawn.
Feeling an unusual stir within her, Sohwa reached out to untie her sleeping husband’s pants.
But as soon as she did, his already hardened and erect member sprung out, hitting her squarely in the eye before she could even react.
Startled, she clutched her face and rolled around in pain, and a flustered Dohwi spent the entire night rubbing an egg on her face as a folk remedy.
It turned out that Dohwi had been awake all along and only pretended to be asleep, leading to this mishap.
“No. What if it leaves a bruise?”
“Look, it’s fine. You’re making me feel embarrassed. Let’s just call it an accident, okay?”
