Living with the Dangerous Beast-Chapter 74: The Brave Fox and His Beautiful Tiger Brother
Chapter 74: The Brave Fox and His Beautiful Tiger Brother
* * *
On their way home, the two walked hand in hand. Worried someone might steal her husband, Sohwa kept a sharp eye out in all directions.
But Dohwi, oblivious to her concerns, kept teasing her non-stop.
“There, look, it’s you, Sohwa.”
“What? Where?”
‘Is he talking about a white puppy or something like that?’
When she quickly turned her head, she saw a stall selling white rice cakes.
“You rascal...!”
She had told him about the humiliation of being called a ‘white rice cake’ by the brown rabbit, hoping for some sympathy, but instead, he just kept teasing her!
Dohwi found the incident so amusing that he joked about it every time they passed a stall selling rice cakes in the market.
As Sohwa’s tiny fists pounded on him, Dohwi couldn’t stop laughing.
“That cheeky rabbit ought to feel the wrath of these fists.”
“You’re teasing me again, aren’t you? Aren’t you?”
“How could I?”
Dohwi kissed the back of her hand, hoping these cotton candy fists would forever stay sweet as they guarded Mount Taeryong.
Bonus Story Chapter 1-3: The Brave Fox and His Beautiful Tiger Brother
Early dawn, with the night mist still lingering.
Hwibeom was deep into a deer hunt. The stag with long, sharp antlers, longer than his forearm, was one of the finest game animals to hunt on Mount Taeryong.
Of course, it wasn’t because he was hungry.
Hwibeom had learned from his kind mother never to hunt young or female animals, while also inheriting the art of playful but ruthless hunting from his apex predator father. freewёbnoνel.com
After bringing down the deer, Hwibeom looked back at his older brother with a pitying gaze. Yongbeom had come up empty-handed again.
“Brother, did you fail the hunt again?”
“Don’t worry, brother. You and I are on different paths.”
Unlike Hwibeom, who constantly sharpened his claws and surveyed his prey like a keen hunter, Yongbeom spent his days gazing at himself in the mirror.
‘Is it really okay for him to be like this? Though he looked adorable, he is still a beast. Shouldn’t he be hunting to live up to his status as a wild predator?’
Their parents were worried about how Yongbeom would survive on his own, and Hwibeom also fretted about his brother’s future.
After cleaning up the game, Hwibeom transformed back into his human form, naturally carrying his brother on his shoulder.
On their way home, Yongbeom, balancing precariously on his shoulder, quickly moved to sit atop Hwibeom’s head.
“Hwibeom.”
“Yes, big brother?”
“Living among such brave tigers, I can’t tell if I’m a tiger or a fox anymore.”
“You are a fox, brother.”
“Of course I know that!”
“I apologize. This foolish younger brother misunderstood your profound words.”
“Well, what I’m saying is, I want to live like this forever.”
Yongbeom was very satisfied with his current life. He was born to find his father and brother were the kings of beasts, tigers, and his mother was a sorceress who could somehow control his father with just one finger.
And what of his own outstanding beauty? With snow-white fur from head to toe, Yongbeom was a rare and precious silver fox.
His fur was whiter and smoother than the snows of midwinter, softer and finer than the delicate carpets from the West.
But what he was most proud of was his tail. Not only was the fur on his tail as thick as his body, but Yongbeom also had a special ability to wave his tail twenty times in the blink of an eye.
He was confident that anyone who saw his swaying tail could never take their eyes off it.
And yet, here he was.
“Why would I need to bother with something troublesome like hunting?”
“What do you mean? You need to be independent too, big brother. You need to find a beautiful mate, have children, and start a family.”
“You sound like a preacher, Hwibeom. Yes, I know. I know all that... But....”
A long sigh descended onto Hwibeom’s soft hair.
“My wish is to find a strong tiger wife and live my life as a doting husband.”
“Big brother....”
“I’m really good at keeping people happy, you know.”
He had managed to charm his father, his mother, and even his younger brother. Charming a wife shouldn’t be difficult at all.
“But my worry is that one day, she might change her mind and decide to gobble me up.”
“How could anyone devour a cute fox like you?”
“You think so?”
With a broad grin, Yongbeom pulled out the mirror he had hidden in his fur.
Pointy ears, a cute little snout, and eyes that sparkled like obsidian!
No matter how he looked at it, this handsome face, so much like his mother’s, was a masterpiece. Not only was his fox form stunning, but his human form was equally impressive.
With delicate and refined features, like a peach blossom, and an air of nobility, he could easily be considered the most beautiful creature in the world.
