Living with the Dangerous Beast-Chapter 73: The Worst Nickname
Chapter 73: The Worst Nickname
“Hmm, she’s annoying, but she does know how to make delicious rice cakes.”
Dohwi watched her munching lips, lost in thought.
He was aroused.
With just that teasing bite... He was overwhelmed with desire.
“Do you want one?”
Even with his erection obvious through his clothes, Sohwa pretended not to notice and continued to enjoy the honey rice cakes.
‘This fox....’
Just as he was about to pounce on those lips instead of the rice cake, the innkeeper entered.
“Sir, I’ve brought a bowl of freshly made soup... Oh?”
Certain that Dohwi was a nobleman by his appearance, the innkeeper had prepared a meal.
“Didn’t you come in alone earlier?”
But now there was a beautiful woman with him. The innkeeper glanced between Sohwa and Dohwi in confusion.
“What are you talking about?”
The innkeeper, hearing the man’s deep, stern voice rebuking her, said, “I must have been mistaken because of the heat,” and quickly set the meal and left.
“Do you want to try this?”
“No thanks.”
Used to the lavish meals Dohwi prepared daily, Sohwa didn’t even glance at the inn’s offerings. Instead, she hummed happily as she sifted through the rice cakes.
“...Hmm?”
Her hand paused over a piece of rice cake. It was one with beans scattered throughout.
“Ugh!”
Sohwa scowled deeply and tossed the rice cake away as if she couldn’t stand the sight of it.
“What’s wrong?”
Dohwi, puzzled by Sohwa’s sudden disdain for food, asked why. Huffing, Sohwa began to recount her encounter with Ryeonhee.
“A few days ago, I met a cheeky little rabbit....”
“And then?”
Dohwi, reclining lazily like a carefree nobleman, sipped on his sweet home-brewed liquor and listened to Sohwa’s melodious voice.
“That rabbit had the nerve to call me... This... a white rice cake!”
Sohwa compared to a rice cake? Dohwi couldn’t quite grasp the comparison and furrowed his brow slightly.
“This, this right here!”
Tears welled up in Sohwa’s eyes as she held up the rice cake. She seemed genuinely upset and hurt.
Though he intended to take her side, Dohwi found himself at a loss for words when he saw the rice cake in her small hand—a white rice cake studded with a few black beans.
‘Oh....’
“I’ve been through all kinds of insults in my life, but being called a piece of white rice cake was a first!”
Sohwa’s face turned beet red with humiliation, but Dohwi couldn’t hold back his laughter any longer.
“Hahaha!”
Sohwa shot him a glare, pouting her lips.
“You find this amusing? You really think it’s funny, huh? Hmph!”
Putting down the cup he was holding in his hand, still half full, Dohwi quickly changed his tone, lifting Sohwa onto his lap and gently consoling her.
“Which rabbit said that? How dare it?”
“Enough.”
Dohwi kissed her sulky lips, her narrowed eyes, and her smooth, fair neck.
“Just tell me which rabbit it was. If I catch it, I’ll....”
“I said enough! Hmph!”
But despite her words, Sohwa’s slender finger was already pointing at another rice cake in the corner.
“It looked like that.”
It was a rice cake covered in soybean powder.
“It was about the size of my fist and looked just like that.”
“Ah, I see.”
A small, fluffy brown rabbit, he surmised. Somehow, he recognized who it might be.
“If you see a little brown rabbit with fur as fluffy as a dandelion, just catch it and... gobble it up.”
As Sohwa’s eyes gleamed with vengeful thoughts, Dohwi nodded in agreement.
“Okay, I’ll do that.”
“Uh... No, no, I meant... Uh... Don’t actually ‘eat’ it....”
Sohwa quickly waved her hands, worried that the rabbit might actually end up in Dohwi’s stomach.
“Just scare it with a roar, okay? But don’t eat it, Dohwi. You mustn’t.”
“Alright.” fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Dohwi gazed at her with endless affection as she sat on his lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck tenderly and rested her head against his broad chest.
“It’s just a poor little creature, with nothing else to see but those big ears, way big for its size.”
His long fingers twirled her soft, fox-like hair.
“Yes, you have so many things to feel sorry about, don’t you? My sweet puppy.”
“I’m a fox.”
“Yes, my fox.”
The hand playing with her hair naturally tilted her chin up.
“I want to taste it too. Just how sweet could this rice cake be?”
“Are you curious? Then let’s find out.”
As soon as she closed her eyes, Dohwi leaned in and took her lips in a big bite, like biting into an apple.
He sucked on the sweet honey that covered her lips and even greedily mixed his tongue with hers.
When he finally pulled away, Dohwi chuckled softly.
“Why are you laughing?”
He looked down into her dark eyes, lifting one corner of his thick lips.
“A piece of white rice cake... Huh?”
“....”
“It kind of does suit you, in a way.”
“You brat!”
