Living with the Dangerous Beast-Chapter 105: This Rascal of Mine
Chapter 105: This Rascal of Mine
“Dohwi, did you sleep well? Why aren’t you heading out today?”
The sight of his radiant face lifted her spirits.
Her voice, hoarse from all the moaning, struggled to sound cheerful as she chattered.
“Did you stay in because you wanted to spend time with me? Hmm? Dohwi?”
Dohwi smiled faintly, his gentle demeanor hiding the bitterness simmering underneath.
It irked him to see her act like this, especially after she had been the one to declare using separate rooms.
“You must have enjoyed the peace while this pesky man wasn’t around to bother you.”
“Oh my, are you still upset?”
“How could I be?”
Feigning indifference, Dohwi lowered his gaze as he served a generous helping of steaming white rice into a warm brass bowl.
Starting with the ginseng short ribs she liked, he carefully shredded them into small pieces and fed them to her like a mother bird.
“Mmm, sweet. So sweet.”
Next came a spoonful of rice, followed by thin slices of abalone.
Supporting his hand beneath the chopsticks for ease, Dohwi offered the food, which Sohwa eagerly accepted without protest.
She didn’t even have a spoon in front of her; it was unnecessary when he was there.
“Don’t choke on it.”
Ever the devoted husband, Dohwi scooped up a large spoonful of the broth.
Sohwa wrinkled her nose.
“Hmm, just the broth, please. I’ll skip the solids.”
When Dohwi obliged, she immediately changed her mind, eyeing the ginkgo nuts floating in the soup.
“Those ginkgo nuts look so plump and delicious.”
Without a hint of annoyance, Dohwi patiently adjusted the spoon and offered her both the broth and the ginkgo nuts.
With Dohwi happily tending to her every need, Sohwa rarely had to lift a finger on the days he was around.
“Eat more.”
“I’ve had plenty.”
“Not enough.”
Dohwi fed her a piece of chicken thigh, expertly prepared and deboned.
She couldn’t understand how someone so gentle and attentive could turn into such a beast as soon as her skirts were lifted.
“Dohwi, about our guest in the outer quarters....”
At the mention of Noksu, the chopsticks paused in midair.
“Talking about him already this morning?”
The way Dohwi shot her a sharp look seemed less irritated and more curious.
Relieved, Sohwa pressed on.
“I’ll ask him to leave today. Honestly, what was I thinking, mingling with a gumiho just for the sake of gaining a tail... I wasn’t considering your feelings. It must’ve been unbearable for you.”
A sharp breath escaped Dohwi’s nose—a reaction that made it clear he found her words laughable.
Yet, his hand continued diligently feeding her another piece of the short rib.
Though she was full, Sohwa obediently opened her mouth.
“I won’t see him again. I’ll stay close to home, too. Okay?”
“Go wherever you want. It’s up to you.”
“Really?”
Sohwa, trying to gauge the sincerity of her husband’s words, absentmindedly bit into the ginseng root.
The bitter taste spread through her mouth, and her face scrunched up in discomfort.
Dohwi chuckled softly.
“By the way, have you seen his fan? I was keeping it safe, but it seems to have disappeared.”
“I wouldn’t know.”
“Dohwi....”
“I said I don’t know.”
“Don’t be like that, please?”
She was certain the mischievous tiger had hidden it.
Dohwi despised others entering the main quarters, so he handled all the cleaning himself.
There was no doubt in her mind he was the culprit.
“Just give it back. You’re the only one it could be.”
“You seem desperate.”
“Well, of course, I....”
“Is it some kind of love token?”
“You rascal!”
Feigning ignorance, Dohwi continued to feed her as if nothing were amiss.

The gumiho staying in their home seemed to weigh heavily on Dohwi’s mind, as he refrained from going out entirely.
The absence of Woongsik’s thundering footsteps suggested that Dohwi had sent him to take care of any errands.
This unexpected quiet allowed the two to enjoy a rare, leisurely morning together.
Sohwa lay on her back, her head resting on Dohwi’s lap as they sat on the main hall floor.
Her eyes closed, she savored the gentle touch of his hand stroking her hair.
Though the scene appeared tranquil, Sohwa’s mind was anything but.
‘This is bad. Really bad.’
She had lost the fan. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
She needed to confess this to Noku right away.
The idea of losing a gumiho’s treasured possession filled her with dread.
What if something terrible happened to Dohwi because of her mistake?
But with Dohwi’s sharp ears perking up at any mention of a gumiho, she couldn’t even step near the guest quarters without risking his wrath.
“Yawn....”
Pretending to relax, Sohwa let out an exaggerated yawn, then sat up, stretching her arms.
“I think I’ll head to the outhouse.”
Dohwi, who had been lazily twirling a strand of her hair around his finger, silently gazed at her.
There it was again—that inscrutable expression.
Feeling nervous, Sohwa stammered.
“It’s... um, strange. Why am I feeling the need to go so often these days...?”
And strangely enough, she really did feel the urge.
Sohwa quickly slipped on the shoes she had left by the stone steps.
