Su Yan shook her head. If it had attacked once, she and Yun Qing wouldn’t have been unable to find it and wouldn’t have completed that territorial task.

"Maybe because of the fire?" Yun Qing said, as she and Su Yan had never made a fire by the lake.

"That’s possible. After all, we never made a fire by the lake. Maybe, the Calamity Python isn’t very aggressive. The lake has plenty of fish that can solve its food problem." Su Yan thought Yun Qing’s analysis made some sense. The snake’s vision relies on thermal sensing. To them, fire might be very dangerous, triggering its ferocity.

But now, it seems its fate is inevitable.

"Leave this place; you can’t help here." Xu Yi said to Lu Ke, as the giant python gradually calmed down. Xu Yi thought it should soon attack again or escape.

How could Xu Yi let it escape?

With such a large part of its tail severed, its mobility should be greatly reduced.

"Be careful, don’t be careless." Lu Ke didn’t advise Xu Yi to leave. If Xu Yi wanted to leave, he would have left earlier, without needing her persuasion.

Hearing the cheer, Yun Qing immediately uncovered her eyes.

Then she saw the python, over a meter tall, crashing to the ground.

During this, Xu Yi had already run to the side.

After running seven or eight meters, Xu Yi’s leg gave out, and he collapsed to the ground.

"Xu Yi." Concerned about the situation, Lu Ke immediately sprinted to Xu Yi with tears in her eyes.

Xu Yi shook his knife and said, "You say I killed it, but it’s more accurate to say the weapon did. Without this sharp Divine Weapon, I wouldn’t have been able to cut it."

Xu Yi felt that with Lu Yao’s machete, at most, he would have caused minor injuries to the python; cutting it through was unlikely.

"So, I think Yan’s elimination was justified. The giant python wasn’t easy to deal with." Xu Yi glanced back at the giant python still writhing and coiling.

But, it was undoubtedly going to die, no doubt about that.

"I’m so thirsty. I wonder if the water’s ready." Xu Yi looked over at where Lu Ke had boiled water.

"It should be ready. I’ll get it for you." Lu Ke was about to fetch water for Xu Yi to drink.

"Let’s go together. The python’s body might thrash about for a while." Xu Yi said, walking with Lu Ke toward where the water was boiling.

When they reached it, the water in the pot was still boiling.

"Let’s fill the bamboo tube first, boil more, and then clean ourselves. The python sprayed something foul." Xu Yi couldn’t focus before, but now the smell was unbearable.

He was worried the slime might be harmful, so he planned to boil enough water first.

Lu Ke nodded, using the pot to fill another bamboo tube and a plastic bag with water before starting to boil it again.

"Xu Yi, you go wash first, then give me your clothes to wash." Lu Ke said to Xu Yi.

Xu Yi nodded, as his body still ached in several places, and he didn’t argue.

Handing his clothes and pants to Lu Ke, Xu Yi went to wash off the foul slime.

After washing, Xu Yi saw the fish in the water didn’t die; they seemed to like the smell, all gathering around.

"Xu Yi, there shouldn’t be another giant python in the lake, right?" Lu Ke asked while scrubbing clothes.

"Huh?" Xu Yi’s expression changed, glancing at the lake.
