Limitless Summoner: Rise of the Soul God-Chapter 140 : My God
Ethan chuckled, ruffling her hair. "Yeah, yeah. That was pretty good. But next time, don't just stand still after attacking. Move immediately after you cast."
Luna nodded eagerly, her excitement growing.
"Did you get a level?" Ethan chuckled. "By the way, what level are you?"
"Huh? What's a level, big brother?" Luna cocked her head to the side innocently.
Ethan was once again shocked by the little girl. Was she serious now?
"You don't have a class or a level?"
"No." Luna shook her head.
"A system? A blue screen?"
Luna still shook her head.
"Luna, it's the blessed heavens. Do you really not have the blessings of our God?" Lia's face changed. Panic and dread filled her as old memories flooded her mind.
Ethan sighed and held her hand. "Lia, it's okay, don't worry."
"But master, we are in the middle of academy students. What if one of them senses her lack of blessings? Oh no. please, benevolent heavens, she is just a small child."
Lia started freaking out and it in turn freaked out the little girl. "Big sister Lia, what happened? Did I do something wrong?"
Ethan squeezed Lia's hand, grounding her before she could spiral into full panic. "Calm down," he said, his voice low and firm. "We don't panic. We figure this out."

Lia swallowed hard, nodding stiffly. She was still shaken, but Ethan's confidence steadied her. Not that he was very confident.
In a world where everyone had a system, levels, and blessings, Luna not having one was beyond unnatural—it was outright dangerous.
If anyone found out, especially in an academy filled with noble students, things could go south very quickly. To make matters worse, they had already made a spectacle of themselves.
"She is very small. She is not eighteen years old yet. She could always awaken and get her system when she turns eighteen." Ethan explained.
Lia nodded. Everything he said made sense.
"Sorry, Luna. I panicked because of my personal reasons. Sorry, I did not mean to frighten you." Lia quickly apologized, blushing.
Luna hesitated, still wide-eyed from Lia's sudden outburst, but when she saw Lia's flushed face and apologetic gaze, she relaxed. "It's okay, big sister Lia! I was just confused." She tilted her head. "So… not having a 'system' is bad?"
Ethan sighed, running a hand through his hair. How could he explain this to a child who had never even questioned why she was different? She didn't even know she was different.
"In this world, everyone gets a blessing—a special power from the heavens," Ethan began carefully. "It gives people their system—their classes, their levels, their skills. Without it… people might think something's wrong."
Luna blinked up at him. "But I can still do magic, right?"
"Yes," Ethan admitted, which was exactly the problem.
People without systems shouldn't be able to use magic.
Luna's very existence defied the natural order.
If anyone—especially those high-ranking academy mages or nobles—discovered this… it could lead to trouble far beyond just bullying or discrimination. It could mean experimentation, persecution, or worse.
That's why Lia panicked.
That's why Ethan had to make sure this secret never got out.
He knelt down, placing both hands on Luna's small shoulders. "Luna, listen to me. You can never let anyone know you don't have a system, okay?"
Luna frowned, her little hands gripping his sleeves. "But… why?"
Ethan glanced at Lia, who was still pale but nodding in agreement. He turned back to Luna, his voice dropping lower. "Because some people might think you're dangerous. Or worse—they might try to hurt you. Do you understand?"
"Did some bad people hurt sis Lia?"
"Master saved me, Luna. He gave me my blessings when the heavens themselves rejected me. Master is my God."
Ethan stiffened slightly at Lia's words. She wasn't saying them lightly—he could hear the raw sincerity in her voice. She truly believed what she was saying.
Luna, on the other hand, widened her eyes in awe. "Big brother is that amazing?"
Ethan sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Lia, I told you before—I'm not a god."
"But you gave me power, Master." Lia's voice was quiet but firm. "I was forsaken. I had no blessings, no system. If it weren't for you, I would have died as nothing. The heavens rejected me, but you… you lifted me up." She placed her hands over her heart, bowing her head slightly. "You may not call yourself a god, but to me… you are."
Ethan exhaled deeply. This again.
"Big brother is a god?" Luna whispered, eyes shimmering with admiration.
"No," Ethan said immediately. "I just… figured something out that helped Lia."
"But can you help me too?" Luna clutched his sleeve. "If I don't have a system, does that mean I won't ever get strong? I don't want to be weak, big brother."
Ethan frowned, mulling over the question. Could he help her?
Luna's case was completely different from Lia's. She would probably automatically awaken the system when she became older. It could even be detrimental to her if he forced some sort of awakening now.
On the other hand, they were standing in the middle of students from multiple academies and maybe some instructors, too. It was only a matter of time before someone noticed her oddity.
They could always return home and come back in a few days when the teleportation token would reset, leaving her with the old hag. But that would mean she would remain weak for the next several years.
With the cultist problems still unsolved and the old hag's fickle nature, he did not feel comfortable letting her stay weak and small. She needed some self-defense, at least. What was the correct decision in a situation like this?
"Big brother, please. Can you help me like you helped big sis Lia? I want to become stronger. I want to protect you both."
Ethan let out a sigh. He was overthinking this, and this was never his decision to begin with. Maybe giving her a system might also help with her memories. He thought about it for a moment and then made the decision.
