Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 80: Ch…cheeee?
"Ch…cheeee?" The instant the orange light particles faded, and the blustery wind along with it, a soft, hesitant chirp of sorts could be heard coming from across the room near the flume.
The Sound was not only soothing and high-pitched, in more of a sing-song manner, but also sorrowful, which caused Glacia’s ears to twitch. This motion caught Aoni’s attention, as the floof backed up slightly to his chest, unsure of what to make of the creature she was seeing.
Much like what the lad had felt during the first few moments after Glacia’s summon, this new creature’s mind was filled with confusion, fear, and, most of all, sadness, as if it was in the midst of experiencing a great loss.

’What have you gone through, little one?’ the lad thought while calmly picking up his baby yeti and placing her down beside him. The emotions coming from the creature were drastically different from Glacia’s; however, as the Link of Subordination set to work, forming a bond between him and it, Aoni carefully observed its every detail.
Standing on its two thin legs was a bird roughly seven inches tall. Its smooth sapphire belly feathers contrasted with the snowy white that covered the tops of its back, wings, and head.
To someone like Aoni, the color patterns were clearly camouflage patterns since if it were in the sky, it would be difficult to notice, yet at the same time, if the bird landed in its natural Arctic environment, it could easily disappear in the snow.
Atop its head was a curled forward plume filled with many different shades of blue; meanwhile, its long tail, which was more than double its body length, matched the two-tone colors of its under and upper sides.
Much like you’d expect from a bird of prey, the summon also had razor-sharp talons, which, although short due to its physical size, could no doubt deal a significant amount of damage if slashed.
The next observation Aoni made about his new summon was the markings on its neck, which were in a swirl pattern around its cheeks and eyes, forming a mask out of multiple shades of blue, where the darker ones created a mask while the lighter shades were illusionary eyes.
The creature’s beak was fiercely sharp and protruded like a large sunflower seed before hooking downward into a sharp point.
Lastly, its deep blue eyes, which right before Aoni, were changing into the same shade of emerald as not only his own but also Glacia’s.
’That confirms my theory about the mutation that Glacia underwent,’ calming his rapidly beating heart because he had finally gotten a second summon; Aoni smiled gently at the bird and waited patiently. Your next read is at novelbuddy
It was evident that it must have escaped some type of traumatic experience before being summoned, as its emotions were a mess; on top of that, it, a being naturalized to Arctic environments, was trembling horribly.
"It’s ok, little one. No one here will hurt you; you are perfectly safe." Staying put but picking Glacia back up and holding her in his lap, Aoni spoke in a soft voice, causing the bird to look up at him as a single tear of ice rolled off its eyelid and broke on the floor.
Seeing this, Aoni felt his heart shake as all of the bird’s emotions washed through his mind, causing him to forcefully regulate his breathing because what it was feeling, no, experiencing was heartbreaking.
Distrust… was one of the darkest things he could feel, apart from loss and sadness; this little bird, whom he had only just formed a connection with, was completely contrasting to Glacia in every way; if she turned into a ball of joy, and happiness upon their connection forming, this bird was terrified of him instead.
And he didn’t know what to do or say to prove himself trustworthy in its eyes. So instead of using words, he used thoughts, no emotions, created through the memories he’d made with Glacia since the moment she arrived.
Thoughts of her falling into the snow and them laughing together. Eating meals, enjoying each other’s company, playtime, safety, warmth, and love, he thought about how all of this was immediately extended toward his new summon, how there were no strings attached, how he would love it just as much as if they were family, no how it was already part of their family.
’You can trust us; you are important, you are cherished, you are safe now, and everything will be alright.’ Fighting back the tingling sensation in his nose, Aoni refused to look at it with pity and instead simply extended his arm toward the small bird with a smile.
Since she could feel what her Lord was going through, Glacia wanted to help as best as she could, so she looked up at the bird and held up her little arm, just like Aoni was doing, and that’s when something happened that startled the lad, even if he didn’t let it show.
’I…can…trust?’ the childish voice of a young girl, maybe three or four years old by human standards, suddenly entered Aoni and Glacia’s mind.
"Yes, you are family to us; we won’t ever hurt you and will protect you, no matter what." For Aoni, it was something unexpected; however, for the ball of fluff in his lap, it was as if nothing strange had happened.
"gaooo," she even spoke out a gao of confirmation with a nod; after all, this was her little sister, and she was clearly going to protect her.
’P…pro…mise?’ the voice asked, as if unsure whether or not to believe the two.
"With all my heart,"
"gao,"
"Ch…chee…chee…chee," with a strong flap of its wings, the bird appeared against Aoni and…began sobbing, letting out all its anguish into her Lord’s chest in the form of icy tears which coated his shirt as they rolled off and vanished onto the hardwood floor.
Without hesitation or confusion, the lad gently raised his arms and cradled the bird while stroking her feathers.
"Shhh, it’s ok now; we are here for you," Aoni whispered as he felt the bird tremble and sob.
