-"I have no choice, Haaahhh~ Why did I agree to this plan anyway? Wait till your father comes back! See how I beat him to a pulp!!"- Lucas’s mother shouted with anger and Lucas couldn’t help but feel pity for his father.
His mother tended to get angry sometimes and it usually was a very bad idea to mess with her.
Lucas consoled his mother and went back to making yet another potion batch.
After he was done, there came a time when the trio were together after completing their individual work.
The concrete bricks, the first batch he made was considered a slab rather than a brick.
Lucas, John, and Jerry had collaborated in making a stencil which was much better than before, they still had to be removed forcefully in order to get the solidified concrete out yet the design was what Lucas wanted to work at.
This time, both the bone ash and the normal ash were in abundance and mixed together after getting the stencil ready. Enjoy new stories from novelbuddy
With a few more tweakings, the stencil was made very sturdily, and soon, the mixture was poured.
This time around, the stencil was smaller in comparison to the amount of mixture of the ashes and water.
After leaving it to cool down and using the left mixture to make yet another slab just like before for the shelter.
The trio went back to their works again.
All this time, Lucas was trying to do his best to do something for the shelter yet after considering many things, he had come to realize something.
’I don’t have any work to do…’ he thought with an inward sigh.
Lucas looked in the direction of John but refrained from talking to him about this, he wanted to be the one to solve this small problem on his own.
While Bill was out to get the location of the Kobold’s settlement, Lucas had to wait till he came back to implement further on that topic.
Yet one thing had become much better, the staff of the shelter, the people that were working for the many things going on in the territory right now.
These people were very happy as they didn’t have to fight for their lives anymore, the system was not making them go to their deaths and now, they were happily inside the territory doing the work they thought they were good at.
Lucas was happy with this development, now that the people had seen that the fighters were capable of killing so many Kobolds within hours and coming back so safely.
It made them work in their roles with satisfaction so high that it could be seen on their faces, unlike a guy who was still looking to go in fights.
It was Mike, the one who was making a house right outside the shelter right now. Mike was doing great work but while seeing the bodies of the Kobold getting into the shelter, Luca could see the disappointment in the guy’s friend.
He knew that Mike wanted to come with the frontline party but Lucas couldn’t help it.
Mike was the only one who could make houses which he wanted to have faster than ever. He didn’t want the upcoming humans to live inside the shelter, not when he didn’t think it was safe to do so.
There came a time when Lucas got bored with whatever he was doing so the only option was simple.
He was going to understand what the development of the territory was all about.
Whatever he knew till now could be called bonkers as he knew nothing aside from the roles which were already allotted.
’As a leader, I should know more… Not like I have anything interesting to do anyways.’
Just like that, Lucas went inside the shelter and sat in the workshop that could be called his office.
He wanted silence and the only way he could get it was through the workstation in the ground.
Barney and Sean were down there too yet they tended to concentrate on their work without problem.
Lucas read all the roles again while making notes in his mind for what thing could suit what type of man.
Whoever would come to the territory was going to be a special worker on priority but if they were not suitable for any of those skills then that meant that they were going to be the guards of the territory, Lucas needed people to protect his lands while he was away and for now, there were not many.
Risking their lives was something Lucas never wanted to do. His goal was to make them all prosper under his lead.
For the first time ever, the mark of the damned felt hot when he thought about it. His mind was filled with determination that was unlike any other he had ever had.
The mark went back to normal and Lucas had felt everything that just happened, he looked at the mark that reacted to his emotions yet again but this time it was for a good reason.
’There is so much I don’t understand about this mark, sometimes it helps, sometimes it makes things worse… How am I gonna live this way?’
Lucas felt sad that he was involved in something so dark, yes he liked fighting, mostly to death but not when these emotions of his that were very heightened already to become even worse.
And the damn thing was becoming bigger, Lucas had not reacted before but yes, it had become bigger than before and it was after Lucas killed the Kobold leader in dissatisfaction.
He did not know what made it happen but one thing was clear, it was the first time he had an actually good fight in a while after getting the mark.
Things like this kept revolving in his mind while he was engrossed in looking at all the information, there were thousands of pages telling what to do and the guidelines and Lucas was not much of a leader.
