Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 81: Uncharted Territory And Bloody Skies
As the warriors made their way to the dungeon, they were all looking forward to the raid. It was clearly going to be one of the biggest things they would do as warriors.
Theo was still keeping his eyes on Nathan, he didn’t know why he felt that even with the Transponder going with them, he might do something to take them out.
"You’re worried about him, aren’t you?"
Theo turned to see Darius staring at him with a smile on his face, it made him smile too.
"You remember what happened last time? We can’t let him keep taking us by surprise." He pointed out, he was looking up ahead, and he could still get something off his head.
Darius shot a glance at Nathan, he also knew it was going to be a risky game turning their backs on that man. It was going to be a problem if he was going to take him lightly, and he was not ready for anything that would put their lives at risk.
’Watching him has to be the only way for us to make sure that nithing would be surprising.’ Darius thought to himself, he knew being cautious was the only option they had since there were more people there.
He turned, and his eyes met Raya’s. It was a bit strange for him to see her there. He remembered that she said that the reason she was not in a guild was because she hated the way warriors treated people, so he was wondering what must have changed her mind.
He moved close to her, and Raya turned to look at him. She didn’t seem bothered by having him that close to her.
"Is anything the matter?" She asked, staring at our white haired warrior.
Darius shook his head, he had a smile on his face. "I was wondering, what made you want to join us? I can remember you saying that you would never join a guild raid because of the way the warriors treated other people." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Raya was quiet for a while, she was looking straight, giving the warrior no response.
"Let us say that I had a hunch that this would be different and there would be something for me to see here." She smiled. Darius was starstruck when he saw her smile.
It was really adorable to him, he smiled back.
"You are very beautiful when you smile, you know that, right?" He blurted out, he was not even looking at her. Raya was shocked to get complimented by the warrior for the second time, and she noticed that he was always smiling when he would say something like that.
She turned to hide her flustered face, looking straight, trying to avoid it.
Theo, on the other hand, saw what was happening and let out a sigh. He knew Darius was clueless, but then he didn’t know what was going through his brain.
’I need to teach him about talking to women, too? How clueless can one man be?!’ Theo was rubbing his forehead. He looked up, and someone caught his eye.
It was the golden-haired healer with them. It was funny how he had heard of the Krigg family only a couple of times, but then he never imagined that they had a monster like him.
’He is sticking awfully close to the Ghastly Ghouls, I hope they don’t hurt him.’ Theo noticed the way he was walking with Nathan and his guild, he knew there was no way for him to tell the warrior not to be close to them for no clear reason. He could only pray that nothing would happen to him.
The warriors got to the dungeon gate, and in front of the gate, they saw the Transponders waiting for them. They both had different attire on, one had a casual fit in casual blue and plain blue trousers. While the other wore a suit.
"It is an honor to meet you, Ghastly Ghouls and Broken Blades Guild." The one in the suit bowed his head, greeting the warriors, who were looking at them with respect.
"We will be joining you for this Raid. We are a part of the association’s monitoring squad, and we will be sure that we oversee everything going to happen in there and that both guilds will work together." The second one spoke up.
They brought a device and turned it on. Looking at the warriors, the one in a suit began talking again.
"We would be recording your fighting styles and compatibility for research purposes. Now, shall we proceed?" The one suit pointed the way to the dungeon.
Nathan chuckled loudly as he and his ghouls led the way. Michael Krigg was walking close with them, the Transponder in casual wear followed them closely.
Theo, Darius, and Raya looked at each other before heading for the dungeon gate. The last Transponder followed closely, they were walking into the dungeon when Darius felt something.
He turned back, looking around like someone was looking at them from above.
’It’s those darn Divine Beings, are they planning an attack?’ Darius was looking around, but it was not clear why he could feel their presence this much.
’I doubt it, but be cautious. They seem to be planning something,’ Azree advised.
Darius didn’t notice when his eyes went from their normal color to a bright red glow. He could still feel them watching, not moving but just watching them.
"Darius?" a call from his partner snapped him out of the daze, he knew it was too early to tell him anything, so he calmed down a bit.
Our young warrior turned to look at Theo, he had a smile on his face when he saw the way Raya and Theo were looking at him.
"Is everything alright?" Theo asked, he was looking at Darius, worried that there was something he was not seeing.
Our young warrior shook his head, he was not going to let anything ruin their raid.
"Nothing’s wrong, let’s head in." He had a smile on his face, and he was still alert, trying to see if he would be able to figure out what was about to happen before it did happen.
They turned and began walking to the dungeon gate, all of them stepped in, and once Darius set his foot into the dungeon, the entire environment reacted to his presence. The dungeon was no longer giving out the docile mana reading it had before instead, it was replaced with a harsh and corrosive aura.
Everything was happening so fast, it was like one thing after the other, but then Darius felt the hair on his hand raise. He could feel a powerful wave coming, and from the looks of things, it was going to hurt someone.
"Theo, Raya! Stand Close!" Darius yelled as he pulled in the Transponder, holding his allies close to his body, covering them with his arms. Almost immediately, a powerful wave of mana strong enough to cut through weak bodies collided with them.
Darius stood his ground as he flared his aura, opposing the deadly mana. They were standing there for a while, the wave kept coming, it was dark and ominous.
After about two minutes, the wave stopped. Darius looked up and opened his arms, letting the two warriors and the Transponder out. He turned to see that they were outside what seemed to be the entrance to a village, a fence decorated with bones and skulls, skulls of what looked human.
"Oh no, no no!" The Transponder yelled as he looked at his machine.
"What is wrong?" Theo asked, he was looking at the man, and the only thing he could see on his face was the look of worry.
The Transponder looked at him, the look on his face. "The Dungeon changed, we are no longer standing inside an S-ranked dungeon."
"What are you saying?" Raya walked forward, she was looking at him, trying to understand what he was trying to say. "It is not possible, there is no way for a dungeon to change that way."
"It is possible, Glasses," Darius spoke up. He was looking at the fence, and he had a gnarly villain-like smile on his face. "We are in an uncharted dungeon now."
"Not just any type of uncharted dungeon, this dungeon mana chart is 50 times scarier than all the other uncharted dungeons that have appeared in the city for the past months!" The Transponder was looking at the reading device in his hand, his face almost went pale.
’This dungeon, it’s almost Mythic rank! We are doomed, there might be three SS-ranks here, but then there is something in here that even they can’t win against!’ The Transponder was looking at the fence, he then caught a glimpse of Darius walking towards the fence.
Theo turned to look at his partner. He didn’t know what was going through his mind, but he could tell something big was about to happen.
"Mr. Winters?" The Transponder called out, he was looking at Darius. "We have to look for the others; they don’t seem to be here, and we need to leave. This place is nowhere for warriors like you to be." The Transponder was worried his body was shaking as he glanced around, as he could see the dark red clouds in the dungeon. It looked like they were in another world entirely; the skies looked like a pool of blood had covered them.
Darius touched the fence, his villain-like smile came back. He turned and looked at the Transponder. "We are here to clear the dungeon, aren’t we? So why should we be scared of what lies in there?"
The Transponder could see the look on Darius’s face, and immediately, he knew that the warrior was not a normal one. He swallowed hard, looking at Darius, he could only imagine what was going through his mind.
Theo and Raya could feel the dungeon’s eerie mana, but Darius’s words were sharper than anything they had heard in a while.
"I can’t believe he chose not to be the captain, he has a better way with things like this." Theo scratched his head, a smile popped up on his face as he drew his spear. "Let’s go dancing."
Raya, seeing that both warriors shared the same mind, drew her blade. "I would love to see how both of you work together."
Darius chuckled as he turned to look at the fence. "Alright, let’s go!"
Suddenly, the screen popped up.
{New Task! Slay the Army of BloodCrang and their three Soveregins!}
Darius smiled even more when he got the notification, ’Let’s dance!’
