Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 62: Something is Coming...
Darius and Theo had been at the restaurant for about three hours. They were talking about the people they needed and what they would be needing if they were going to open a guild like that.
"So we agree that my house is the best meeting place?" Darius was eating a cupcake, his facial expression made him look like a child who had not tried the pastry before.
Theo was sorting the files, he was not going to let anything slip.
"Yes, I still have to make arrangements for the main guild building and meeting spots for future purposes." He turned to look at Darius, then he turned to the table.
"Oi, don’t eat mine too!" He snatched his cupcake from Darius before he would eat it; there was no telling what else he would do.
"Hey! Have you heard of sharing?" Darius cursed. He folded his arms, looking at the table.
Theo smiled; he couldn’t look at Darius and keep his face like that.
"Here, you eat way too much." He broke the cupcake into two and gave Darius one half. A smile popped up on Darius’s face.
He took the cupcake and began munching down. Theo had set everything down on the file, he was still looking for a way to make sure he would find other members before they went for major raids.
"I can always take only him, practically, you’re enough for some dungeons." Theo smiled as he turned to look at Darius, who seemed engrossed in his cupcake. "He’s not even listening, is he?"
As Darius ate his cupcake, he could hear whispers. He turned to look and see if he would see anyone, but there was no one there to whisper something like that.
"Must be the air conditioner," Darius mumbled to himself as he turned to see if he would get something else to eat.
The lights at the restaurant flickered a bit, the air seemed to have changed, a foul odor engulfed the room, but what was worse... Only Darius could sense it..
’Child Of Chaos...’
The whisper came again. Darius turned back to see if he would spot anything, but there was no one behind him. He heard the same thing the dragon kings had called him.
"What’s wrong?" Theo asked when he saw the look on Darius’s face.
Darius, who knew it was going to be too soon to tell him anything about his power or where they came from, tried to shake it off.
"It’s nothing, I..."
Almost immediately, the serpentine dragon tattoo on his left arm began to burn. Darius winced out of pain, holding his hand. He looked at his left hand to see the tattoo glowing with a bright silver and red color.
"Damn it!" He held his hand as he looked up, he noticed that Theo was gone, the entire restaurant was gone. He was in a different room, a room that wouldn’t be an appropriate name for it. He was standing in the middle of a dark, eerie plain.
The plain stretched endlessly in every direction, dark as a starless sky and reeking of rot and ozone. Shrieks echoed in the distance — not human. Not sane.
"Child of Chaos!"
"Ashran’s Vessle!"
It was no longer just whispers; he could hear them loud and clear as he looked up to see three beings hovering over him.
"What is this?" Darius could sense their dark and ominous intent. It was so corrupt and impure that it could stain a perfect white robe.
He looked at the beings, getting a clearer image of what he was dealing with. They looked deformed; each of them had four arms. Darius couldn’t see their faces, but he could see their long fangs.
"Brother is angry.... He is coming for it." One of the beings spoke as it pointed at Darius.
"We, brother only family, shall take it from you! Yes, for brother, we do anything to make him happy." Another spoke but in a broken and savage way. Darius was looking at them, cautious about what was going to happen.
"Child of Chaos." The last one’s voice was authoritative, and Darius turned to look at it.
This one had a scythe in his left hand, and Darius could see six eyes beaming bright red. In his right hand were chains; it was like looking at the face of death.
"We are coming- Brother orders it! You will fall!" As he raised his hand, suddenly, Darius was pushed back. Our young warrior opens his eyes to see himself back at the restaurant with Theo holding him close.
"Are you okay? I saw your tattoo glowing before you blacked out." Theo held him firmly, it was clear he had seen something.
"..."
Darius still couldn’t say anything. He was silent, sweat dropping from his forehead, looking at Theo as he slowly stood up.
"Can we talk tomorrow? I need to get home..." Darius was looking a bit drained, he had lost his appetite.
"Yeah, sure, I will come over tomorrow then. You gave me your address, so I will meet you there." Theo smiled; he was sure that something was happening, and it made Darius uneasy.
Our young warrior got up, he didn’t look back as he bolted out of the restaurant. He was going back home trying to think of what he had seen.
He reached the house. Walking in, there was no sign of Lena anywhere showing that she was not home yet, so it was quiet. Darius rushed for the toilet sink, he began washing his face. As the image of the being with a scythe kept appearing in front of him..
It was vivid and more terrifying; Darius couldn’t hold himself together.
"What was that thing? Why did they call me there?" He was looking at the mirror. "Was it the dragon kings?!"
’Darius, those were beings from another plain. If anything, they were engulfed in malice and darkness. That wasn’t them...’ Azree chimed in; Darius could feel the difference in his voice. It was clear there was something more out there.
"So what was that thing? And why did they say something about brother?!" Darius slowly sat on the ground, looking at the tattoo on his left hand. He wondered why it glowed, it was the tattoo he got when he defeated Slav.
’What is your relationship with those things, and why does it feel like you have a connection to those beings?’ Darius closed his eyes to think. The moment his eyes closed shut, he saw him standing there..
The first was that which made him fight for his life, the one who placed him in the middle of it all, standing right in front of him with an ominous smile.
Slav the greed....
Darius opened his eyes immediately. breathing heavily, he held his chest. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
