Chapter 61: Warm Feeling

"Finally!" Theo lay back in his restaurant chair, looking at Darius digging into a plate of chicken breast like some savage beast. I can’t believe we did it, so this is going to be happening!"

"Yup, we are going to form a guild. I can’t wait to see what kind of people we manage to put in our guild!" Darius spoke with food in his mouth; he wasn’t in any way excited for the guild like that.

He had one mission... Defeat the chicken breasts!!

"You shouldn’t talk with your mouth full," Theo pointed out. He shook his head, knowing that he was going to be stuck with him. "Now we have to fix up the members we need. From what we were told, we need only three more people to be an official guild."

Darius had finished his meal; he pushed the plate back and turned to Theo.

"So what do we need now?" He asked, looking at his partner.

Theo brought out a file and placed it on the table in front of Darius to see.

"You see, guilds can reach 15 people or more if the guild should become very popular. But all those fifteen are different in their ways, but not too different."

Theo opened the file, pointing to it, and Darius used his eyes to follow his hands lazily.

"We are the guild captain and Vice. We are both all-round combatants with no magical powers or no beast-related abilities." Theo was looking at the file, not noticing Darius cleaning a drop of sweat. He hadn’t told Theo about most of his abilities, and soon he might awaken that part.

"So we need a healer, a mage, a berserker, an assassin-type warrior, a beastier, although the possibility of meeting one is very rare." Theo looked up, he could see Darius looking a bit confused.

"Is there a problem, Darius?" Theo asked, looking at the warrior.

"No, nothing at all. I only wanted to know what kind of warrior I was or we are since you have already picked out the ones we need."

Darius had a weird look, like a child, on his face, and Theo didn’t know how to say no to him.

"Well, I am a lancer/combatant with an elemental affinity for wind. I know there is a chance we are going to have more than one lancer." Theo pointed at Darius with a smile on his face. "While you, my white-haired friend, you are oddly an all-rounder."

Darius, who had a chicken bone in his mouth, was surprised for some reason; he didn’t expect him to stop his hand in front of him like that. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Huh?"

"I mean, I’ve seen how you fight and evade attacks. I would have called you a berserker, but you fight with calculated moves and all. Plus, your new fire elemental control means you’ve gotten even stronger, and something tells me that you didn’t disclose everything about your abilities."

Theo was looking at Darius. He smiled, looking at the man in front of him.

Darius had an odd look on his face, he was sure that there was no way for him to even think of walking away from this one.

He put down the chicken wings he had in his mouth, then he raised his head to face Theo.

"Well, not all of them." He sat down properly and then looked at Theo with an expression on his face. "You see, I didn’t want them to start asking questions and all, but since you’re the only one who even knows that I have abilities like that. I will tell you something."

He leaned closer to Theo and then scanned around. "I am five times as strong as when we took on those cobras, or maybe ten times."

"I knew it!" Theo slammed the table as he stood up with a smile on his face. He pointed to Darius. "Every time I saw you, there was something different about you in every encounter! And I was trying to keep it to myself but then..."

"So you have been spying on me like some stalker?!" Darius pointed at Theo; both of them were unknowingly causing a scene at the establishment.

Other customers were looking at them like they were going nuts; some were busy admiring their beauty.

"They are oddly loud for gentlemen."

"They look like warriors, but the one with the white hair looks like a model."

"Look at his scars, he looks like he’s dangerous."

Both warriors heard what the other customers were saying, they had drops of sweat falling from their foreheads.

They calmly took their seats as Darius stared at Theo. He wondered what had given it away.

"So what gave it away? I don’t just walk around with a tagline saying that I was stronger than before." He was looking at his partner.

"There is something called a mirror, ya know? I mean, even if I was not familiar with you, I would still know something was up with you." He said poking Darius’s nose. "Well, I had my suspicions, and I was right!" Theo smiled.

Darius was looking at him. For some reason, the only thing he could feel close to Theo was warmth and peace.

’You don’t need to worry about him; he’s not going to be of any harm to you.’ Azree chirped in.

’Azree, you can tell?’ Darius wondered, looking at Theo as he went through the papers.

’The man in front of you bears no hostility for you, and the only thing I can feel is someone who has found a friend.’

’Huh, you can feel that’s new. I thought you were a cold-hearted being.’

’I don’t feel for fools like you.’

Darius rolled his eyes. He then turned to Theo, but he could feel the warmth coming from Theo.

"This might not be bad after all." He smiled.

Theo looked up, he had heard what Darius had muttered.

"You okay?" he asked.

Darius slowly nodded his head, with a huge smile on his face.

"Everything is fine!" He said. He then turned to the table. "Now! Let’s talk about the future of the guild!"
