Chapter 159: Let Loose!

To recover his lost energy, Darius had synced everything down to his subconscious, entering the world created with his mind to control his powers.

It was white, clear, plain, where he would see Azree; he hardly came there unless he was knocked out cold, but this was the first time he was able to even enter there like that.

Looking around, he couldn’t see anything but the empty white hall where he stood, trying to see if he would be able to spot anything that would help him out.

"Azree?"

Darius called out, trying to put his mind in order.

"He isn’t here..."

A familiar voice spoke from behind him. He turned to see Slav standing there with a strange look on his face.

"Slav? What are you doing here?"

Darius couldn’t understand what was going on. He would normally spot Azree there in the plain, but seeing Slav meant that there was something odd going on, and he needed to find out what it was.

"Oh, nothing, I just thought it would be nice to see how you are embarrassing my name."

Slav spoke with a clear, sarcastic voice. He was staring at Darius with anger in his eyes.

Our young warrior scratched his head. He knew that there was no excuse to cover it, but then he was fighting two of them.

"I dont know how you expect me to beat another monster like that when I had just faced Acier, who was clearly not someone I would have expected to be that strong."

"Are you making an excuse for that horrible performance?" Slav raised one of his brows, looking at Darius, trying to put things clear in his head if there was a chance that he would have been able to do something about it.

"I was about to die!"

"That would have been better; at least I wouldn’t have to speak to you." Slav shot back, looking at Darius with disappointment on his face.

Darius couldn’t believe what he was hearing, trying to gather his thoughts while looking at the dead sage in front of him.

"What are you trying to say?" He asked, looking at Slav. he knew that even if Slav sounded like that, he wasn’t trying to say all that. "Are you saying that I was able to kill them in an instant?"

"You were more than capable of that. You keep holding back, and it isn’t something you should keep doing! If that were Urus or the second child of the Abyss, you and your merry band would be dead!"

Slav was staring at Darius. He waved his hand, bringing out an illusion of what looked like a sphere, and inside it was a glowing crimson smoke flowing around with a certain jade power.

"That is you and your power; you aren’t letting it flow freely, limiting what it is you can do with it. With those party tricks, but then imagine what will happen when you release it for a little while?"

Slav waved his hand again, and the crimson smoke grew bigger, and it seemed to have a rather strange but concentrated form, making it look like it was one of the most bizarre things.

"Wow..."

Darius couldn’t help but admire what was happening in front of him. He was looking at the display, and he could tell that there was something more powerful in him, and the only way for him to even control it.

"You aren’t using the powers to their potential; you are only using the little mana it is giving you for your party tricks. The real powers of chaos would take any form you give it, infuse into your attacks and your powers, then you would be the very force you were meant to be!"

Darius couldn’t understand clearly, but for Slav to say he was holding back meant that he was really not fighting the way he was meant to, and it was about to be the end of him.

"But I am using the ones I can reach, I dont—"

"Child, my powers aren’t the only things you are holding back," Slav cut him off, looking at the boy, he couldn’t help but smile. "The power of chaos locked within your core is crying to be let loose. Do you think Ashran would have wasted that much time with those phonies?"

Slav cut him off again. This time, he tilted his head, looking at Darius.

"You aren’t going to last long if you keep trying to do things the way you do; you are the only one holding yourself back. Now inside you are two of the elements, and soon I know you will get all of them, but it still doesn’t mean you will be able to handle what is coming your way."

Darius stood there looking at Slav. He wasn’t sure what was about to happen. He couldn’t even tell if it was something he was ready for or how he was going to be able to handle it.

"What should I do?" He was looking at Slav, trying to see if he was going to be able to get Slav to tell him what he was trying to say. "I mean, what do you think I should do?"

Slav was looking at our young warrior, rolling his eyes, trying to put everything down in his head as normal.

"I think the best thing you should do is..." Slav moved closer to him, placing his index finger on Darius’s forehead with a smile on his face. "Stop trying to limit what the powers of chaos can do."

Saying that he pushed Darius back, our young warrior fell to the floor, falling back into his body.

He opened his eyes to look around and see what was going on. He could see that he was back in the physical plane. He turned to see that he was inside a golden cocoon, and the only person he knew who was able to pull something like that was his teammates.

He looked around to see Raya, Michael, and Theo standing there engrossed in the fierce battle happening in front of them.

"They are still at it?"

He spoke up, startling the other warriors. They turned to see that he was now awake.

"Darius!"

They yelled in unison. Michael broke the cocoon as they hugged him. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"I’m fine, I’m fine!"

Darius said with a smile on his face, his attention went back to Vertu, and he saw how he was fighting Pryion and Acier.

’Good to see you didnt die,’

Darius had a huge smile on his face. He could hear Azree, and it was one of the most pleasant things he would have wanted.

’Azree! I thought I was going to see you there, but instead I saw Slav, and that man isn’t one of the best people to bump into. Although he told me not to hold back my powers and I should let it flow, this isn’t the time for that; I need to make sure that nothing is going-’

’I was the one who made sure you would see Slav,’ Azree cut Darius off, revealing that the meeting wasn’t by accident, but it was meant to happen.

’What?’ Darius was shocked, but there wasn’t a thing he could do about it, only ask why he would want to put him in the same place as Slav.

’I know I once told you that your body is mortal, but then the power you have within isn’t something you should hold back and let these monsters take from you. If they do so, then there is no telling what would be the fate of every being in the universe.’

’What about the whole my body is going to die if I dont do something about the way I use my powers and...’

’If you overuse your forms, not your powers. You’re holding yourself back, and if you keep doing it, you might lose your life, and then everything you are working hard to protect will be left here to suffer.’

Azree sounded a bit worried, it wasn’t the normal tone Darius would hear from the guardian, and he wasn’t about to start thinking of the reasons why it was now a calmer tone.

’I believe you know what you are meant to do?’

Darius slowly got up from the ground, his eyes fixed on Vertu and his fangs of chaos.

"Of course..."

He said softly, getting the attention of the other warriors standing there with him, and he was about to begin doing something insane.

"Ve’xa!" He called for his blade, and in the next second, the blade entered his hand, letting out a powerful growl.

Theo turned to look at his partner and he knew what was about to happen, he had a worried look on his face.

"Need help?" He asked, looking at the warrior getting ready to attack.

"Nahh, I can handle it!" Darius muttered before charging into the fight, his body was now letting off a powerful dark crimson aura. He was tapping into the powers of chaos!
