Chapter 149: Trial Of Water Part 13: The Warrior’s Grit!

Filling the temple with water was a mistake that Acier had made in a hurry, and it was biting her on the neck.

The speed Darius moved was something else, and she had not expected him to be someone who could breathe underwater.

"No matter how far you run, I will still take you down!"

Acier yelled as she used her chakram to send powerful slashes at him, trying to make sure that she would take him down.

But each strike she went for him, it was like he was waiting for that one, dodging it like it was a child’s game and not something that he would take seriously.

"Cmon, water witch, you can’t tell me that you are going to lose to me in your domain?"

Our young warrior had a smile on his face, looking at Acier, he wasn’t going to let her win, and she wasn’t planning to let him either.

Darius gathered enough energy in his hand, looking at Acier with a smile on his face.

"Phantom Blow: Ripple Blast!"

Darius sent a powerful blow for Acier, using the water pressure to make a bullet-like punch.

Acier managed to dodge the attack; the heat from it alone was strong enough to make anyone feel wary of the warrior in front of her.

She turned to see Darius swimming towards her with Ve’xa, and he swung the blade, aiming for her head. Acier blocked the hit with her chakram, but Darius wasn’t done there.

He landed two powerful kicks on her head, using his knee, and he bashed her face.

Acier pushed him back, looking at the warrior, knowing that she was dealing with someone who was the definition of a problem.

’He’s like a cornered animal, fighting with all he has left, and the only way to kill a rampaging beast—is to land a devastating blow!’

Acier raised her chakram, aiming for Darius, drawing the water close to her like a vacuum, looking at Darius with pure killing intent.

"You think you are going to leave this place alive?" Acier was looking at the warrior, knowing that he was not trying to flee from her, and something was eating him up from the inside. Almost like if he ran, then all of it would end for nothing...

"I will take you down and make sure that there is no way for them to even save your allies."

Darius drew Ve’xa out, looking at Acier with a nasty smirk on his face as he was ready to put her down once and for all.

"I don’t know what you think this is, but I want you to know something."

Darius’s eyes glowed looking at the knight in front of him.

"I am ready to dance!"

Acier spun her chakram round, drawing the current of the water to her, her eyes on Darius, almost like she was ready to land the most devastating blows.

"Crest Fall: Revolving Slash!"

She roared, sending two powerful slashes at Darius, but the young warrior used Ve’xa to block off the attack.

"Ve’xa, activate glunttony!"

[Ve’xa has activated the skill gluttony: Allowing it to absorb all the mana from attacks and beings close to it. Warning! It absorbs more of your mana with that skill activated!]

"I dont give a damn!" Darius yelled, holding his ground as he could feel his sword taking up his mana at a very fast rate.

Once the attack in front of him was taken away, a smile could be seen on his face as he kept his blade on his shoulder, ready for one more strike.

"Counter Strike!" Darius roared right before he sent a powerful slash right for Acier, the slash divided the pool of water they were submerged in, heading for Acier, who raised her hand to stop the attack.

Once the attack was close, she felt something rather scary—if she took the attack head-on on then she would die.

Dodging the strike by only a little hair, she took one deadly hit to her left arm.

The water dispersed, and they were on the dry floor again. Darius was on the ground, his entire body aching, and he was trying to push himself up from the floor. His feral form had been taken down, and he had burned up a huge part of his mana reserve delivering the attacks.

[Mana: 100,000/300,000]

He looked up to see the damage he had done to Acier, but she was still walking towards him.

’She is going to kill you if you diont move your ashy butt up!’ Azree snarled.

"Take it down a bit, Azree." Darius pushed himself up, but before he could even get his head back in the game. Acier was right in front of him, and the next thing he felt was a powerful kick on his chest, sending him tumbling backwards.

Darius’s back was slammed on the temple wall, his eyes on the knight as she dashed for him at full speed.

"Nahh, I ain’t dying here!"

Pushing forward with the pain, Darius dashed for Acier, completely ignoring the pain. He wasn’t about to die there; both of them collided like the complete opposites of a magnet.

Pushed back, Acier uses bullets of water, firing them at our young warrior.

"Hell’s Verdict!" Darius roared, suddenly he was surrounded by crimson flame, turning the water to vapor even before it was able to touch him.

He pulled out the red cobra blade, still dashing for Acier. Both of them were in a power clash of blades; this time, the winner would leave with the loser’s head.

Like a bull seeing blood, Darius wasn’t going to let her push him back, and it was going to be the end of her.

"Come on!" Darius was landing synchronised blows, one by one, not even pulling his hits back. It was a brutal collision, and he was not going to let her phase him.

"I thought you were the Champion of Water?! Is this all you got?!" Darius taunted as the deafening sounds of metal released sparks that illuminated the temple.

Acier jumped back, conjuring a powerful ball of water with her hand, looking at the warrior in front of her.

"Siren’s Whip!"

She swung a powerful whip made from water, destroying the pillars in its path. The whip went straight for Darius, our young warrior, dodged the attack, but it grazed his face.

He staggered, looking at her, seeing that she was not done with him.

"What in the world do you have planned in that sick mind of yours?"

Darius took his stance, looking at her, waiting for her to make a move.

’Darius, keep your head up and make sure nothing will take you by surprise— an elemental is as strong as the power they wield. She is the element of water, calm, fluid, and powerful. It would take only one wave to be the end of you!’

Azree was trying to back Darius up, but it was not going to be an easy fight to win.

"Don’t worry, Azree." Darius held his blade in his hand firmly, looking at Acier. It was going to be the last time he would let something put him down like that.

"She’s going down!"

Acier stood there looking at the warrior; it was not going to be easy taking him down.

"I commend you, warrior, there is something about you that makes it hard to beat. But this is where you fall!"

Suddenly, Acier began spawning different clones of herself.

"Mist Mirror: Mirage Brigade!"

All the clones circled Darius, all their hands were pointing at our young warrior.

"But this is where you fall!" They said in unison, firing a water attack strong enough to pierce steel itself.

"Crucifix of The Depths!"

Ka–boom!

Darius didn’t flinch; only one of the attacks had pierced his back. Standing there, he took the pain in looking at the clones in front of him, a smile on his face.

"That won’t kill me," Darius laughed like a maniac, his eyes darting around like he was looking for something.

"I REFUSE TO DIE HERE!" Darius roared, following his roar was a powerful, bright crimson flame.

The warrior’s body began to glow bright, and his eyes were on Acier.

"Prominence Burn: Fallen Pillars Of Hell!"

His voice echoed through the temple. The next second, five mighty pillars fell from above. Pillars of flame, so hot that it was already clear that anything touching them would perish.

Acier jumped back; the flames had burnt her, but she took cover, trying to make sure that it wouldn’t take her down.

Standing there in awe of the warrior right in front of her, he wasn’t going to let her kill him, and he was ready to break his body in two, trying to make sure he would win.

"Once again, you defile fate." Acier summoned her chakram, the weapon flew into her hand, her eyes were on Darius. "But this time, I will take your head clean off."

Breathing heavily, Darius looked at the knight. His body riddled with wounds, his vision blurry as he managed to keep himself standing.

"I told you..." He muttered, picking up the red Cobra Blade. "I ain’t gonna die here, none of you divine wahoos are gonna kill."

[Warning! Excessive Use of Mana at this time would lead to burnout!]

"I am not done yet, not by a long shot..."

Darius held his blade tightly, looking at Acier, who was ready to put him down for good.

"This time you fall!" Acier yelled, rushing for him. She had reached the warrior about to strike when she was close enough to him.

Darius smiled, looking at her. "Fell for it."

Acier was confused. The next thing that happened was Darius pulling her hands holding the knight down with all his strength.

"Mana Steal!"
