Chapter 148: Trial Of Water Part 12: The Third Son Makes An Entrance!

At The Time- Before Acier Submerges The Temple In Water....

Outside the temple, Theo and the others were facing something that no one would have told them was even going to come out.

Aya’s corpse had turned into something that no one had in mind to even face, and it wasn’t something that anyone would have imagined they would encounter.

The corpse had stirred, sprouting dark shadow tentacles that destroyed half of the crater.

Pryion had seen the monster taking form; not wasting time, he charged at it, trying to ensure that it would be taken down before it had any chance to hurt the others.

But as soon as the knight tried to strike the corpse with his blade, he was stopped halfway. It was like a repelling force trying to make sure that there is nothing going to come down on it.

"Ahh, if it isn’t the great knight of chaos," A voice spoke from the corpse. It wasn’t the voice of the guardian. It was something more sinister, and it had more mana than the guardian.

Pryion held his ground, trying to see if he would be able to push it down, but the waves from the being were enough to kill anyone who dared come close to it like that, and he was doing the job.

"You know there is no way for your blade to hurt me, knight!"

The monster sent a powerful shockwave through the crater. Pryion didn’t stand there looking at the monster. He jumped back, looking at the beast in front of him. He knew that there was a chance that he would not be able to do anything if it got out.

"What are you?!"

He asked as he lifted Isakador, placing it on his shoulder, looking at the monster as it kept coming out of the corpse.

The corpse shook violently as a beast crawled out of it; it had four arms and a mighty long spear. Its grotesque form would make any man fold in pure fear and horror of what they were looking at. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

The beast took its form, a huge, menacing creature with its height and size. It was twice Pryion’s height, and it had a presence with it. "I don’t think that would be the right thing to ask,"

"I know," The knight held his sword firmly, knowing that the next thing he would be doing was fighting for his dear life.

"I just want to know the being I am cutting down."

The monster smiled, its eyes had a powerful, dark red glow, almost like the color of blood rushing from a fresh wound.

"I am the third son of the Abyss, the dream that all men want to forget. The regret of the great kings and the downfall of many nations. I am the one who prowls at night looking for whom to devour. I am the endless hunger of what many can’t have but wish to get."

The monster took a step forward, looking at the knight. "Any idea of who I am yet?"

Its cold and eerie voice changed the entire tone.

"You should know me, after all, I was the one you faced the last day before you gave your soul to that Dragon King."

A nerve snapped in Pryion’s brain. He was looking at the beast in front of him, and he couldn’t control his anger.

"Vertu!"

Pryion charged for Vertu, swinging his blade about to take off the head.

Vertu smiled, his eyes closed halfway. "Even after a thousand years, you still attack blindly, not looking at your opponent."

The spear struck the floor, releasing a powerful wave of darkness that sent Pryion flying back.

The wave alerted the three warriors, and immediately they felt chills down their spines.

Something that weaker animals would feel a monster or a bigger predator is trying to kill them.

"Stand Alert!" Theo roared as he swung his spear, looking down the crater. He couldn’t see anything clearly; the only thing he knew was that something was going to come out of the crater.

The next minute, they saw Pryion being launched out of the crater like a baseball.

The team knew that something that was able to toss Pryion like that was not something they would want to hold down like that.

"Stand your ground!"

He knew what they were going to see was either something like the one they faced in the Orc dungeon.

"What is in there?" Raya asked, her sword tightly held in her hands, and she could feel it. The dark, eerie presence in the darkness was inescapable and alluring.

"Humans—three of them bathed and blessed with divine light."

A voice came from the crater. Theo knew what was trying to come out, and he knew better than to let it set foot on land.

"Fire your strongest attacks into that place!"

He yelled as he charged up a powerful attack on his spear.

"Zerion’s Bullet!"

He roared as he sent a powerful attack hurling down the crater, without a second to hesitate, he fired rapidly, trying to make sure that whatever it was didn’t have the chance to come out.

Raya and Michael saw what he was doing, and they knew immediately not to question their captain but to do what he had ordered.

Both of them began firing their strongest attacks down the crater, trying to bury the monster, trying to bring its head out.

They kept firing for straight five minutes, and the crater was filled with smoke, dust, and rubble. Theo was still a bit worried that they hadn’t taken down the monster, and it was going to bring its head out.

"What about him?" Michael spoke up, he was talking about Pryion and the way he had crashed into the rocks. He knew that it meant one of many things, and it was that he would be hurt.

Theo knew that he was in every right to be worried, but then there was no way he would be letting anything take his team away from him.

Turning to Michael, he was focused, and his eyes were filled with worry. "I don’t think you should be worried about the Knight for now, I would love it if we make up our minds and put–"

"This would be fun if you use the real powers locked within your souls, but then I don’t know why you are holding back."

The three paused on their tracks, their body filled with pure fear of what was standing close to them.

"Or is it that you want to die?" Vertu had a smile on his face; he was happy to be up.

The three were breathing heavily, subconsciously, they knew that there was no way anything they would even try doing would hurt what was standing by their side.

"So, you gonna do something or are we going to stand–"

"Zero Impact!" Michael punched the being with all he had, sending the beast flying back. The being crashed into the walls.

Michael didn’t know what pushed him to do something like that, but he was sure that if he didn’t do anything, then it would be the worst thing for him at the moment.

He turned to Theo, he was not going to stand there and let something come and take joy in splitting his insides open. "We don’t have time, let’s get to Pryion and leave while we—"

"You know, if you wanted to kill me, then you should be able to do it properly."

Vertu was right behind them; he was afloat with his long spear in his hands.

"I was given specific orders to kill the child of chaos and obtain his powers, but then I didn’t get the memo that I was going to be dealing with three humans who are oblivious to the fact that there are great divine powers within them, and they act like fools."

He held the spear tightly, his eyes glowing as an eerie smile showed up on his face.

"Well, Urus didn’t tell me anything about avoiding killing mortals. He would enjoy it!"

Vertu lunged for the warrior at an intense speed; his goal was to decimate them without a second thought.

Theo, Raya, and Michael braced themselves, knowing that the being was not going to be blocked easily, and it was going to be much of a problem if they were not careful.

Suddenly, a bright crimson flame was in front of them, blocking the beast from attacking.

Vertu had a smile on his face, looking at the knight in front of him. The bliss he felt was something else, and he couldn’t control himself; it was not what he would have expected.

"I thought I put your flames out with that hit? How in the mighty cosmos are you still alive?"

Vertu pushed back, swinging his spear, trying to make sure that he would take Pryion’s head clean off, but it was blocked by the knight.

He was not going to let him hurt him anymore. "You are right about one thing, and that is the fact that I am still the same from a thousand years ago....but there is one thing you missed."

Vertu smirked, trying to push Pryion out of his way. "And that is?"

Pryion glared at the monster, his entire existence rolled around him facing this beast since what it had done it his family.

"My flames are a hundred times hotter than before!"
