Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 80
“Huuuu.”
Leaning back in the passenger seat, Georgina let out a long sigh. Charlotte, who was driving, glanced over at her, checked that Georgina had buckled her seatbelt, and then started the car.
“Didn’t you have a really great time today?”
As soon as they were alone, Georgina excitedly spoke up. Charlotte muttered a vague, “Yeah, well...” but of course Georgina ignored that and kept talking to herself.
“I’ve never seen such a cute kid before. And to think, she’s only three, but so smart! I’m totally smitten.”
“That’s true.”
Charlotte agreed with her for the first time, a faint smile playing at her lips. Georgina, thrilled, shook her shoulders while bouncing in her seat as if dancing.
“See? It was worth coming together, right? Let’s come again next time, Charlotte. Angie and Yujin both said it was fine.”
“Well, it’s just that...”
Charlotte trailed off awkwardly. But Georgina didn’t seem to hear and continued talking.
“Charlotte, by the way, what do you think about Yujin? Isn’t he really handsome? I was so surprised. I’d heard things about Yujin before, but no one said he was this good-looking. And it’s not just looks — it’s the aura, too. I caught myself staring without realizing it. And even though Yujin’s an omega, it’s just that he’s a guy; if he were a woman, he’d be absolutely stunning, don’t you think?”
Sighing, she cupped one cheek and murmured to herself.
“He seemed like a tragic hero from a classic story. Like Werther or Ophelia, maybe? Why didn’t anyone tell me this before?”
Charlotte reluctantly answered the wild imagination.
“That probably wasn’t the kind of thing people talked about...”
“That’s good. It means I’m one step closer.”
Ignoring Charlotte’s uncertain tone, Georgina nodded emphatically. Charlotte blinked in surprise, briefly looking away before returning her gaze to the road.
“What do you mean?”
In response to Charlotte’s question, Georgina answered confidently.
“Aren’t you curious about what really happened in this mansion?”
“Huh?”
Charlotte was surprised again. Her voice was two octaves higher than usual. Georgina lifted her chin with a smug smile.
“Everyone’s keeping it hush-hush. You don’t know the details either, do you? I’m really curious about what happened between Yujin, Grandfather, and Winston. Don’t you think we should find out?”
“Well...”
Charlotte reluctantly spoke up.
“Georgina, haven’t you sensed something already? I mean, it’s embarrassing to say, but... that there was some... thing going on between Yujin, Father, and Winston.”
Unable to say it directly, Charlotte kept using pronouns, but Georgina cut to the chase bluntly.
“So you’re saying both Grandfather and Winston slept with Yujin, right now?”
“Ge-Georgina!”
Charlotte shouted in shock, and for the first time Georgina’s expression turned serious.
“That’s what’s strange. I thought so when I saw Yujin’s face, but after spending the day together, I’m even more sure. There was definitely some serious misunderstanding.”
Charlotte anxiously glanced between Georgina’s face and the road. Georgina continued, stroking her chin with a serious look.
“Think about it. Yujin is one of the most attractive omegas out there. But with some old grandfather? Doesn’t that seem weird?”
“Lots of young people have relationships with rich old men.”
“That may be, but...”
Despite Charlotte’s cautious point, Georgina spoke seriously.
“Sure, considering the Campbell family fortune, Yujin could have had an affair with Grandfather. But there’s Winston.”
She laid out her speculation seriously.
“Winston’s their peer, young, handsome, capable, and the heir to the family. If Yujin had just waited a little, he could’ve eventually inherited the whole Campbell estate. So why would he be with both Winston and Grandfather? I just don’t get it.”
“There are many people like that in this world.”
“If it really happened, I’d say Grandfather forced it.”
“Georgina!”
At Georgina’s firm words, Charlotte quickly interrupted and, with a displeased expression, denied it.
“There are many who don’t care about old age if they have money. Maybe Yujin’s personality is much more open than he appears. What does it matter? It’s all in the past. Father is already gone. Don’t get too involved — it’s grown-up business.”
Georgina silently stared at Charlotte’s profile, then fixed her gaze forward again. Charlotte sighed uneasily inside. Georgina was too curious to stop here. She would definitely keep digging into the family’s affairs until satisfied.
But what can I do about that?
Charlotte quietly kept driving. She just wanted to keep pretending she didn’t know or see anything.
Georgina gazed out the window in [N O V E L I G H T] silence. She understood the meaning behind Charlotte’s words: not to poke around and make unnecessary trouble. But Georgina wasn’t the type to accept that quietly.
I can’t miss out on this interesting business.
Her heart raced for the first time in a while as she vowed again.
I will definitely find out what the adults are hiding.
“Haah...”
Yujin collapsed utterly exhausted onto the sofa. It felt like a locomotive had run over him. Or maybe a truck. It didn’t matter. What was certain was that he was completely drained. Only Angela was still lively.
“I had so much fun today!”
Jumping up and down in place, Angela shouted, her face flushed and excitement uncontrollable. She kept going.
“Georgina is so much fun! We’re going to be best friends, I just know it! Daddy, Georgina said she’ll invite me to her room next time. She has a teddy bear she’s slept with for over ten years. She said she’ll introduce it to me. Daddy, Daddy.”
Angela tugged at Yujin’s arm, whining, but Yujin was out of energy. Only a teenager could handle this child’s stamina. But since it was rare to see the child so happy and excited, Yujin couldn’t help but smile.
“Was it really that much fun?”
He asked, gently stroking her head. Angela nodded vigorously.
“Daddy, I want to write the invitation right now. Can I? Okay?”
“Of course you can.”
Yujin forced himself to rise from the sofa.
“Let’s ask Cain if he has some pretty stationery. Or maybe we should go buy some tomorrow?”
“Uh...”
The child, still excited, suddenly faltered. Seeing the shadow cross Angela’s face, Yujin hurriedly said,
“Daddy just wants to get some fresh air too. Let’s go out together, okay?”
“Mm...”
Angela still looked reluctant. She was clearly worried that Yujin wouldn’t be able to get in a car.
No. I have to overcome this quickly.
Yujin urged himself, renewing his determination. If he can’t ride a car, he’ll never escape. He needs to get used to it, starting by buying stationery tomorrow.
Just then, Cain entered and spoke up.
“Excuse me. If it’s for a letter, we have stationery with the family crest stamped on it. How about writing on that?”
Startled, Yujin looked at him. Angela’s eyes also widened as she looked up. The butler continued in a businesslike tone.
“It’s the paper used to send invitations or similar documents. How about using that? Of course, you’d put it in an envelope stamped with the crest.”
“That sounds perfect!”
Angela exclaimed happily. Watching her spin around the room in excitement, Yujin breathed a sigh of relief.
