The man noticed her stare and smiled gently, like a kind middle-aged man. "As you can see, Mira had gotten into an accident."

He looked at Mira, "Show them, honey."

The girl shook, extremely reluctant to part with her cover. What woman would want to show her ugliest side to both her ’rival’ as well as a handsome man?

Her eyes couldn’t help but be a bit teary and she looked at Hugo. It was very pitiful, but he didn’t even look at her.

"..."

Anyway, with Hilten and Khalifa looking at her, Mira had no choice but to take off her bandages, revealing her hideous scar.

She felt hot with humiliation and it felt like her wounds were hurting even more.

Khalifa and Hugo’s eyebrows rose as they saw the grotesque red patches of skin all over her face and upper body.

This would definitely scar, Khalifa mused. No wonder they were so desperate.

"What did the doctors say?"

"It will heal within three or four weeks, and… it will scar—please help me, Khalifa!" Mira said, using her sweet voice and kneeling in front of her.

She was about to hold her hand to appear more pitiful but Hugo manifested a sheet of metal between them.

Khalifa looked at him with a raised eyebrow. Hugo smiled and patted her head, "What if it’s infectious?"

The rude comment naturally irked their guests, especially Mira who was already boiling in humiliation.

Khalifa didn’t bother with this and only shrugged, shifting her attention to the woman below her, looking closely at her every reaction. "So… tell me what happened first?"

Mira flinched but it was very miniscule, almost no one noticed.

Almost.

Khalifa narrowed her eyes a bit as Mira began her story.

"I… I was watching the fight, wondering how I could help. I was with Ken then, you can confirm this to him.

"Aubrey… I felt there was something wrong with her. I approached, thinking she was nervous. I tried to talk to her to calm her down, but I wouldn’t have expected—"

She choked sobbing, and she carefully wiped her tears in order not to aggravate her wounds. It was a pitiful sight, but no one in the room felt particularly heartbroken.

Khalifa’s eyes glazed, "Indeed, you’re so unlucky to be there…" she said, "It must be painful."

Mira nodded, heaving a deep breath and believing that she had been let off the hook.

"So please help me, Khalifa!" She said, "For old times’ sake, okay?"

Khalifa’s blue eyes looked at her for a bit before she opened her mouth. "It’ll be difficult to heal her. The wound is deep," she droned. "It’ll take a toll on me."

The two flinched, and Mira immediately exclaimed. "We are willing to pay thousands of crystals!"

So generous? She looked at Hilten, who flinched a bit, but otherwise seemed like a supportive uncle…er, no boyfriend.

Khalifa pretended to think a bit, eyebrows furrowed.

Mira’s heart beat loudly, starting to panic. "Just name your price!"

At this Hilten wanted to stop her, but his pride stopped him.

Khalifa and Hugo tried to hold down their smiles. They fortunately managed to do so and Khalifa looked at their guests with a serious expression.

"You have two options. One is for me to improve the healing capability of your cells from within. When done, it won’t scar anymore," she raised her hand before either one got excited, "Because I’m improving the interior, it will take longer to heal, albeit it wont scar anymore.

"At least two months, at most 3."

"What? That’s so long!" She yelled, and Khalifa crossed her arms and stared, immediately Mira turned meek.

"I… I’m sorry, it’s just that— you understand, as a woman, right?" The woman paused, "May I know the other option? Is there a way… for instant healing? "

"Of course I do." Khalifa paused, as if conflicted. "There is indeed an option—an aesthetic one where you will be healed immediately, but only on the outside.

"The second one could not only make you visually healed within a few days, but you will completely heal scar-free within about a week," she said, "But it will be… uncomfortable, to say the least."

This caught the two’s attention.

"Tell me! Please!"

"For the second option, I will heal the skin first while the inside heals much more slowly. The thing about this is that it will be itchy—very itchy. Worse, because the white blood cells and other immunity functions would focus there, everywhere else will also itch."

"Itch… itch… I’ll be fine!"

"I don’t think you understand…"

"NO! I mean, yes, I do—"

After a ’moment of thought’, Khalifa nodded.

"Fine… but I’m telling you in no circumstance can you succumb. It could pop! Create pustules and get infected. There’s no way to avoid scarring then."

"...yes! I can do this! I have good patience."

Khalifa nodded but… nothing.

Mira frowned. "And?"

"I need the crystals to get power from."

Mira knew what this meant and immediately turned her head to Hilten. She didn’t stand up from her kneeling position, holding his hand.

"Please, Hilten. You’re so powerful. Please help Mira, okay?"

At this, for the sake of face at least, Hilten had no choice but to sigh. He faced the door, calling his adjutant who was waiting outside. "Take 2000 crystals."

"I need five thousand."

"Five… fine." Hilten said, but Khalifa could see his gritted teeth.

Mira was so happy and she jumped up, hugging Hilten. Without a smile on his face, Hilten hugged the girl back, but his eyes stayed on Khalifa the whole time.

Khalifa was really curious about the interaction, but at the same time not really.

Anyway, after about half an hour of awkward silence (after Hilten was shut down by Hugo for starting a conversation with Khalifa), the crystals finally arrived.

Hilten then cleared his throat and smiled, pointing at the sacks placed by their feet.

"Okay, let’s start," Khalifa said as she stood up, wearing a soft seductive smile that sent heat down every man’s groin.

For a moment, Hilten thought she might be seducing him and the very thought made his shaft rise high.

What he didn’t know was that this was a smile that Khalifa’s men would recognize: It was her smile… when she was being naughty.
