"The Surveillance Cameras, I took most of the records with me." Jacob answered, noticing the look in Petal’s eyes. Something about her changed.

"Sorry, the number that you called is out of coverage."

Noah tapped on the table of his study room. He had been trying to call Petal since yesterday but it seems that her phone is turned off. He started to worry and couldn’t wait anymore. Picking up his coat. He left the office.

When Noah arrived at the mansion it was almost lunchtime, But the table was empty. Did something happen? He wondered as he walked towards the living room. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"Aunty." Noah called Lana who was sitting alone in the living room.

"Why are you sitting here alone?" He asked as he came to sit next to her.

Noah noticed that Lana was crying and she wiped her tears when she saw him,

"Nothing, I just wanted to be alone." She replied, smiling at him.

Nodding his head, Noah asked.

"Is Petal here? I tried to call her but her phone is turned off."

The smile on Lana’s face disappeared hearing his question, But she needs to tell him about what happened yesterday.

"I think that Petal will no longer live with us, Noah. She found out about her mother’s death. Lana said, her voice seemed distant.

Noah wasn’t surprised by what he had heard, He knew that someday she would find out, It was just a matter of time.

"How did she find out?" Noah asked his aunt.

Lana told him everything that happened last night, Noah asked her if she knows where she is right but she said she didn’t know.

"I think we should stay away from her now, She needs space." Lana advised him.

Nodding his head, Noah patted his aunt’s hand. "Don’t blame yourself, Everything that happened was fated." He said, trying to comfort her.

After staying with his aunt for some time, Noah Left the mansion to go back to his house.

When he entered, He saw his mother sitting in the garden, reading the newspaper.

"Welcome home, How’re things in there?" Sofia asked, lowering the newspaper in her hands.

"Good. " Noah answered as he sat down next to her, Wondering why is asking.

Sofia laughed and said.

"Are you sure? I heard that they aren’t?" She asked, looking at him.

Shaking his head hopelessly, Noah said.

"If you already know, Then why are you asking?"

"Firstly, Watch your language when you’re speaking to me. Secondly, Yes, I know everything that happened yesterday. God is finally being fair and decided to punish that man." Sofia said.

"Do you mean Ethan?" Noah asked, confused.

Sofia noticed that her son isn’t aware of what is going on between Petal and Ethan. She chose not to tell because she didn’t want to hurt him, So she stayed silent. What she needs to do now is sit back and watch as that family comes apart.

Noah stared at his mother who went back to reading the newspaper paper and just ignored him.

At Jacob’s apartment.

Sitting on the floor of her room, Petal opened the box that Jacob gave her. He said that he gathered everything he could find in their mansion. Opening the box started to empty it. Inside the box, there were photo albums, Video tabs, and some of her mother’s items.

picking up the photo album, She opened it and started to look at the pictures, The pictures that her mother collected through the years, Her mother made sure that she always takes pictures of every moment of Petal’s life.

Turning to look at the videotapes, She took out the VCR she stood up, and connected it to the TV screen before she placed the tape inside and started to play it.

Sitting in front of the screen, She waited for the video to start to play.

"Pete, Look here."

Petal heard a woman’s voice and her body and her heart skipped a beat. It was her mother’s voice. It was the first time she heard her voice.

"What a good girl you’re." The woman in the video said to the little girl that was in her arms.

Petal was so young in the video, probably three or four months.

D"Do you know what your name means?" It means Petal is the soft and sweet part of the flowers, Just like you, Soft and sweet." Olivia continued talking to her little girl who was staring at her with her hazel large eyes.

Tears started to flow down from her eyes. It was a wish that she never told anyone. To hear her mother’s voice, It was soft and warm, just like she imagined it would be.

"When you grow up, You’ll be the most beautiful girl, I can tell by your beautiful eye color. I wonder who you inherited this from. It doesn’t matter because it suits you." Olivia said, kissing her baby girl’s fluffy cheeks.

outside the room, Jacob was standing listening to the video that Petal was watching. A sad smile appeared on his lip. PetaI was an unfortunate person, She had suffered and gone through a lot.

She needed someone to make up for all that suffering, Someone who loves her for the way she is. But the quietness is right now, Is she able to love someone right with that broken heart.

When the evening came, Jacob was about to go to check on PetaI’s room when the doorbell rang. Walking towards the door, He opened it only to find an unexpected guest standing on his doorstep. The man looked like he hadn’t slept for weeks.

"Come in." Jacob stepped away from the door to let him enter.

"Thank you." Ethan said as he entered.

Jacob had noticed the way Ethan, Was staring at PetaI. It wasn’t a normal one. Since then he had his doubts and now the opportunity came to ask him.

"PetaI is sleeping." Jacob said when he saw Ethan looking around him.

"Have a seat." Jacob said, pointing at the chair.

Ethan sat down, Looking around.

"How is she?" Ethan asked about PetaI.

Jacob sat across from him, Staring at the legendary man in front of him.

"Not good, She spent the whole day locked in her room." He replied, noticing the grave expressions that appeared on his face.

"Can I see her?" Ethan requested.

"You will, But first. Tell me, What is going on between you and Petal?" Jacob asked.

"I love her." Ethan replied without hesitation earning a Surprised chuckle from Jacob.

"And what about her?" Jacob asked, wanting to confirm.

"I believe that she shared the same feeling, She was the one who kissed me." Ethan replied revealing a little too much information, Not feeling seamless about it.

Jacob stared at the man in front of him, Shocked by what he heard. His innocent PetaI kissed a man, And not just any man, Ethan Wilson, The legendary mafia man, Love it is, He thought to himself.

He could see the honest look in Ethan’s eyes,

"Go, She is in that room." Jacob pointed at the room Petal was staying in.

Ethan stood up, walking towards the room, Opening the door, He walked inside the room. He found PetaI sleeping on the floor, Walking towards her, He Picked her up in his arms placing her on the bed.

He turned to look at the TV screen and saw a video running, He stood up and walked towards the screen turning it off before he walked back towards her.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Ethan stared at her. He hoped that she wouldn’t catch a cold from getting wet from the rain and sleeping on the ground. Her cheeks were covered with fresh tears.

Reach for her face, He gently wiped the tears on her face before he removed the hair that fell on her face. He tried to stay away from her but he couldn’t, He needed to see her, He needed to make sure that she was alright.

Ethan bent down and kissed her forehead. Her mother’s loss must have affected her. He wanted to be with her When she cried. He wanted to be the shoulder that she leaned on when she needed to, But she just pushed him away.

Jacob stood at the entrance of the room watching how the cruel mafia man treated Petal with affection. He seems to be deeply in love with her. But will PetaI love him back after what happened?
