Issac was stunned for a moment, It was the first he saw her laughing since they came here. She looked different, more carefree, and at ease.

"You should always laugh like this. It suits you." Issac said as he turned around to hiding his emotions.

The next morning Petal woke up early feeling a little better after a good night’s sleep. It’s been a week since she slept this long and this good. Her mind was fresh and clear. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Preparing breakfast, PetaI went to wake up Jacob. Knocking on the door she waited for a while before she pushed the door open and entered, She found him still sleeping.

Sitting on the bed. She started to shake his shoulder to wake him up."Alright, alright I’m awake." Jacob said, pushing the covers off his face.

Patel smiled remembering the times when they were children and she would come to his room to wake him up so they could play together. It was a good time that she will always remember.

Jacob sat up running his hand through his hair, He has a habit of sleeping shirtless. Noticing something on the right side of his chest PetaI stood up and turned the lights on before she walked back towards him.

"What is this?" Petal asked, pointing at the scar on his chest.

Jacob, who had just woken up from sleep, forgot to put on his shirt to cover his scar. He didn’t want her to find out about her.

"It’s nothing." Jacob said as he stood up walking towards the wardrobe to get a new T-shirt to wear.

Knowing that he was lying, She walked towards him and forced him to turn and look at her."I asked you,’’ What is this?" She asked again, signaling to look at the scar, She doesn’t remember that he had it before.

Jacob smiled, Happy to see her worried about him. This was the Petal he knew. Warm and kind, Worrying about everyone she loves and cares about.

"It happened that night. But it wasn’t caused by Ethan man. It was caused by your father’s enemies but I managed to escape." Jacob replied.

Petal had a complicated look on her face. If her father’s enemies came after Jacob then they would come after her. The thought scared me.

"Don’t worry. No can harm you. Your uncle is making sure of that." Jacob said, patting her head.

"My uncle?" Peta asked signaling and looked at him confused.

Her mother told her about her uncle before. She told her that her father wasn’t on good terms with him and that she never saw him.

"Yes. He is making sure that no one can hurt you. I never saw him but he sent me a message with one of his men and told me that he will appear when you need him the most." Jacob said as he wore his T-Shirt.

Petal frowned hearing this. I don’t want to waste her time. She followed him to eat her breakfast and go to her school.

On the breakfast table. Jacob watched as PetaI ate her breakfast and looked at her school books.

"Do you love it?" She heard Jacob ask and she looked up at him.

"Playing violin." Jacob explained.

Petal nodded at her."It’s the only thing that makes me feel free." She replied, signaling.

"I’m happy to hear that. Your mother will be proud of you." Jacob said and she gave a weak smile.

Hearing the doorbell rang, Jacob stood up and went to see it. Petal stood up and started to clean the table unaware of the unwanted visitor that was on the door.

Jacob opened the door and wasn’t too surprised to see the person in front of him."Hmmm, A desperate lover." Jacob said, chuckling.

"Good morning. I apologize for coming early in the morning." Ethan spoke politely.

Jacob looked at him and shook his head hopelessly. Now he knows why PetaI had fallen for this guy.

"It’s no problem for me but I don’t know about her. " Jacob said.

Just then PetaI came out of the kitchen to see who came in this hour. Seeing the man who was standing on the doorstep, She froze not knowing what to do. She had ignored his messages and blocked him thinking that he would understand but he was stubborn and came all the way here.

Jacob looked at the two of them and felt the tension between two them. Grabbing his car keys, Jacob said."I will leave the two of you alone. I think you two have a lot to talk about."

Petal panicked hearing this. She wanted to stop Jacob from leaving but he was already at the door and left, closing the door behind him.

Ethan wanted to laugh out loud at her facial expressions right now but he didn’t. Taking off his coat, He put it on the hanger before he turned around to face her.

"May I come in?" He asked politely as he stared at her.

Petal gives a look saying, You’re already in.

Pointing at the living room, She watched him as he walked towards it and took a seat. Following him Petal decided to just relax and keep calm, Ethan won’t hurt her, that is something that she is sure of.

"I sent you messages but you didn’t reply. I wanted to see you." Ethan said, staring at her. She looked beautiful in the outfit that she was wearing. Her soft black was let down and he wanted nothing but to run his fingers through it.

"You are here now, You can say whatever you want to say." Petal replied signaling.

She accepted him to get angry but instead he offered her a warm smile. She had witnessed the harsh side of him one time and she wondered if he would do what he did to her again.

Ethan stood up looking around him. He noticed that the apartment was small. He can give her his apartment to live in. It’s bigger and better than this one plus he didn’t like the fact that she was living with another man than his.

Suddenly Petal’s phone vibrated and she went to get it. It was on the table that was on the corner of the living room. As she was checking her phone, PetaI didn’t notice that Ethan walked towards her and now was standing behind her. Feeling him behind her, She slowly turned around facing him.

Ethan brought his hand to her face cupping it and she stood there letting him touch her. She missed the warmth of his touch."I missed you. Living without a mansion became hard." He said in his low-pitched voice.

Petal let her guard down and stared into his eyes and at his handsome face. She felt his other hand sneak around the small of her waist pulling her close to him as his thumb rubbed the tender skin of her cheek.

She felt nothing but his touch and wanted nothing but his warmth. Right now he owns her heart and soul.

Ethan kissed her forehead feeling her body relax in his arms as she placed her hands on his chest. "You asked me to stay away but I couldn’t. Throw your worst at me and I will accept it gladly. Take revenge on me all day but make sure to come back to me at night." Ethan said, His words held a dark promise that can consume her whole.

Petal’s body shivered at his words But warmed her heart at the same time. This man in front of her is willing to make her take his life with a smile on his face. She can take his life and this conflict right now, His gun was attached to his waist. Loaded and ready.

Put... will she be at ease if she killed him. The twisted part in her mind wanted him to suffer, But her heart wanted him.

Petal was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt him run his fingers through her hair, Pushing it back.

"Thinking about killing me?" Ethan said and she looked at him with wide eyes.

How did he find out? Was she that obvious?.

Petal lowered her eyes ashamed of herself But looked up at him again when she felt him take her hand and placed it on his gun.

"It’s your chance, No one here. You can kill me and let Jacob help you hide my body. No one will ever suspect you. I have many enemies." Ethan said, warping her hand that was above hers around the gun.

Petal glared at him. He was testing her to see if she was serious with her threat or not. Grabbing the gun firmly, PetaI pulled it out and pointed it at the side of his head with shaking hands.

"Good girl. I don’t like my woman to go back on her words. But I’m warning you. If you don’t pull the trigger. I will kiss you and it won’t be the same as the last time." Ethan said, offering her a charming smile.
